Avoid 4800 Pleasure South & Landis Rental Agency!It is with a heavy heart that I’m writing this review. We gave Landis several chances to address our situation and they did nothing each time. We have been vacationing in Sea Isle City since the 1970s. We have used several different rental companies through the years but settled on Landis with no issues, until this year.We usually rent a place on 75th street but it was unavailable this year. So we went back to Landis and rented 4800 Pleasure Ave South for $4550. Our usual house rents for $3550 but we had no reason to believe this was an anomaly.Before signing our contract, we inspected the pictures and saw nothing to dissuade us from renting this house. It had exactly the bedroom and bathroom configuration we needed for our group.When we arrived, there were immediate problems. Mold on the shower curtain. Dust and dirt everywhere. Exposed cords. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months. When we called Landis to complain, they told us to come to the office and get a new shower curtain! We should have known right then and there that Landis was not going to help us. We told them to bring the shower curtain to us and to send the cleaning company again. Which they did. The cleaner did her best to do what we asked of her. But she kept saying that the things we were requesting were a part of the “deep cleaning” in the off-season. It was clear that the house hasn’t been “deep cleaned”, painted or repaired in years. We were shocked at the state of the house. The owner claims he “hasn’t had any complaints from the last 4 renters”. The cleaner stated that she complains to the owner all the time, but as long as Landis gets their “13%” nobody cares. Landis told us that this house usually rents for $8500 and we should have “rented the house we liked again”. Landis also told us that we should “take a weekend and visit a few properties to ensure they are to our liking”. We live in Pittsburgh and shouldn’t have to visit properties in advance! That’s the responsibility of Landis to ensure they are renting a property that is clean and safe, which this house was clearly not. I emailed Landis the first day hoping for a phone call or a return email which I did not get. We will not be renting with Landis again.Broken stove. We had to use a lighter to get two burners to ignite.Many exposed, jumble cords all over the house.Closet door broken, not on track (laundry area).Moldy shower curtains.Mold on the back of a bedroom door.Grill was located on the deck even though the City Ordinance states it should not be on the deck.Water damage throughout the house.Garage door doesn’t lock, latch broken. So house was always open.Dishwasher wheels kept falling off. Causing the drawer to pull out all the way onto the floor.Dishwasher silverware tray broken and silverware fell through to the bottom.Missing handle on the trash can. When trying to pull it to the curb, the weight shifted and toppled over, taking my 75 year old father down with it.Missing wall exposing plumbing.Scotch tape holding together cracks in the walls.Broken door threshold, tripping hazard.Mold in the outdoor shower.

We have been renting in Sea Isle for several years and have always had great experiences with Landis and our agent, Yvonne Carey. The efficient check-in process (drive up and receive your keys without exiting the car) is awesome. This year our condo’s ac unit stopped working mid week. We called the Landis office and Yvonne immediately coordinated with the property owner. A technician arrived within an hour and fixed the problem. Great communication and service! Thank you!!

Landis is an outstanding real estate agency. My experience has been been nothing but outstanding. They take care of the tenants and they take care of the owners equally well. If things break they have handyman that they can call and get things repaired right away. All agents are very good, very polite very hard-working but specifically Natasha,Kovaleyech, who is our agent, is the best agent that I have come across in 30 years of renting my place in Sea Isle City. she takes personal interest in what we want to do and is very quick to respond to any request. As our rental needs have changed over the years, in space needed and budget, Yvonne has always found a perfect fit for us. We had been searching for a rental home for 08/05-08/12/23 and we had 4 homes that showed availability only to have been rented as we checked with realtors. Landis Co. had a house we were interested in and we have rented with Yvonne Carey previously, so we touched base with her. I’ve used Landis Realty for 3 years to rent a shore house for my family. Want to share my dissatisfaction with my realtor there, Sam Levy. I’ve been renting properties at the jersey shore for 40 years, and have never dealt with a less responsive person! He’s rarely in the office and doesn’t respond promptly to calls,texts or emails. Worst of all he’s unresponsive to any problems a tenant may have upon check in, although we’re instructed to report them when we do. Our property wasn’t properly cleaned in 2020,the first COVID year, despite the supposedly enhanced(and paid for in time and money) cleaning. There has been a light broken at the foot of a long steep outside stairway leading to the entrance for 2 years and 3 different rental weeks. The air conditioning malfunctioned twice and this past summer, Sam informed me t 5:30 on a Saturday( when I’m sure I’m wasn’t the only tenant with a problem),that he was at a function and I should call my own HVAC person! Surprisingly, Landis Realty has no one on call to help tenants such as myself?? Some of this is due to an unresponsive owner of the property,I realize but Sam failed each time to make me feel that he even sympathized with my problems in the house! And finally he failed to inform me that the owner had changed his business model( and the one used forever at the jersey shore) to require a signed and deposited lease in the last week of august as opposed to oct/ nov!? So now I’m forced to find another rental. With another realty.

I have been renting from Landis since 2010, and have enjoyed my vacations. In 2020 the rent was 950 for the upstairs unit. I decided to rent down stairs in 2021and it was 1750, thought I would try seeing how I am on a limited budget, but for 2023 it will be 2050.I realize Robert has done alot of work, but to raise long time renters this much. Sorry it is to much for a retired person.
