Great small owned Company! Very professional and all the staff are very polite and helpful. They offer a variety of services for your fur baby (or babies) and carry great top-of-the-line brands with fair pricing. Definitely recommend checking them out and supporting your local businesses. I have been supporting this business for years and it's worth every penny!

I've taken all my pups to Paws-Itive Experience (2 Chihuahua's, 1 Seberian Husky & 2 German Shepherds, yes over 20 years of bogs) and I couldn't be happier with their program. Their philosophy and care they give to our 4 legged friends is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend them

Rob was a very knowledgeable trainer. Everything we applied at home that we learned during class was successful. Rob also answered and advise us on any questions we had about behaviors we were experiencing at home. Rob was also very observant during class and would always go to a dog he saw exhibiting behaviors that needed correction and work with the owner on it. Would highly recommend.

I brought my 1 year old rescue to Pawsitive for a groom session and he loved it! They even put a cute holiday bandana on him. The facility is huge, but incredibly clean. They have a lot of treats, CBD, food, toys, etc. Upon check out as well. Will definitely be going back and plan to check out their dog day care as well.

Love this store. Love their Blue Ridge Beef for cats. If I had a dog, I’d take him/her there. The staff is friendly and professional.

We had a great experience bringing our Pup to training and the Obedience 1 Class with Rob! They accept any dog, even ones that are barking/loud. The class wasn't just obedience, but also behavior correction, which has help a lot. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great group training class!

Im so happy i discovered this doggy daycare! I just enrolled my golden retriever puppy into this place and we’re very happy here! I was looking for a casual yet fun place to send my puppy to have her socialized with other dogs and this is certainly it. The staff are all very friendly and seem to be great with the dogs. The dogs are great with one another too. This daycare offers great hours at an affordable cost. I recommend Pawsitive Experience!

I really love Paws-itive Experimce. I've been bringing my dogs for daycare for almost 20 years! I feel the staff really cares about dogs and understands their interactions and behaviors. In the spring and summer, they have an outdoor area for the dogs as well.As far as cost goes, some of the franchise locations offer better rates, but there isn't the personal touch that there is at Pawsitive. When I go in with my dog, they know her by name. I was a little disappointed when they instituted a policy where you can't drop a dog off after 2pm - but I assume it helps with the flow and management of the dogs.I haven't used their training services or classes in over 10 years, so I can't really speak to that, but I know many people who have been pleased with them.Overall, a great business.

If you are on this website wondering if Paws-Itive Experience is the right place for Obedience Class or Private Training look no further. I, nor my dog, would be where we are today without the expertise, genuine concern, truthfulness, and kindness of the owner/trainer, Rob. I HIGHLY recommend Rob to you. He helped us accomplish our goals and learn so much about being a dog/handler team during the months we trained with him. A stranger who saw me in a park struggling to walk my dog stopped me and recommended that I try training with Rob. I had attended training elsewhere and was very hesitant he could help us. Emailing Rob with my questions about his classes was one of the best decisions I have made since getting my dog two years ago. People now stop me when I am walking my dog and asked who trained him. Of course, I am honored and proud to speak to them about Rob! My hope is that through this review I can now be that stranger to help you by referring you and your dog to train with Rob at Paws-Itive Experience.

We take our Black Russian Terrier, Lhasa Apso, and Chihuahua all here for all of their needs. The groomers are great with the fluffy breeds and do a fantastic job of shaping their coats. Other businesses were unsure of how to cut our breeds’ coats but at Paws-Itive Experience they were familiar with the breed standards and more than delivered with the results. They seem to genuinely care about your pet and even had notes to reference from our past visits, which was a huge help! It is well worth the wait to get on the books with these groomers!

Excellent Staff. We took a private training course for our large puppy who was out of control. John immediately helped us. We then took the basic training group class. It’s money very well spent. There doggy day care is clean and well supervised. This is an awesome place!

My wife and I did the puppy training class with Rob, the owner. We loved it! We could tell from the start how much Rob enjoys training dogs, and how experienced he is. We received a ton of advice during each training session and Rob was very attentive to our dog Remi. We highly recommend Rob’s training classes!

I've taken several dogs to John's classes over the years, both my own and shelter dogs from the rescue I volunteer for. Everyone on staff is friendly and knowledgeable. John's methods have proven to work well for us and are very "user friendly." Training a dog is hard work but John and his crew make it much easier. They're always there for us! I've not had a chance to use their grooming or daycare facilities but hope to rectify that soon. Their store has a huge assortment of toys and food and anything else you could possibly need. We're fans for life!

Great staff. Lots of class offerings. You walk out of Basic Obedience knowing how to correct your dog's behavior the right way. The training is really improving my puppy and he is the 4th dog I've brought here!

I've known Paws-itive Experience for over 15 years, and each interaction with them has been professional, insightful, and unbelievably successful for my dogs and myself. I have attended their training sessions with several of my dogs over the years and it has always been a wonderful experience. I have also received an individual assessments at my home to solve an extreme problem with one of my dogs who had been previously abused, and found it to be accurate, to the point, but also compassionate. I am scheduling training for my newest dog, Leila, a Lab/Newfoundland mix from St. Hubert's Animal Shelter at this time and would recommend Paws-itive Experience to everyone.

Brodie is our recently rescued golden retriever mix. We signed up for Basic Obedience class and we could not have been happier with the class, John, the staff and the services that Paws-itive Experience provides. John educates dog owners by providing technique, history, assurance and confidence. John truly cares and that comes through in his teaching and personal attention. P.S. Check out his credentials and you know you are in good hands.Brodie also attends the Daycare. Jody and Meghan (just to name two) are fabulous and will love and take care of your dog. I feel extremely confident bringing Brodie there knowing that the staff understands him and is consistent with how we take care of Brodie at home.Brodie has gotten his nails trimmed there with Tim and it was a relieving experience. Brodie is still getting used to having his paws touched and Tim handed him with love and care.I can't wait to take another class at Paws-itive Experience. Anyone I have spoken to there is pleasant; it is a great place to enjoy and be educated about owning a dog.

We have used Paws-itive for puppy classes and daycare in the past. Most recently, we took a therapy class with Tracy. I can't say enough good things about her. She is a top rate instructor, there is no wasted time in her class, and she keeps it fun and positive. She is there before and after class and is happy to spend extra time with you if you need it. We had a great experience with her and all of the other classes we took from Paws-itive.

John is a wealth of knowledge. My wife and I are extremely happy with our decision to enroll our puppy in their preschool program. If you want to be able to take your dog anywhere, I sincerely recommend that you attend some training programs with John.

I’ve been a customer of Paws for 25 years since it’s inception. All of our dogs have been trained there and attend daycare. John and Erin McWilliams built a K9 ShangriLa! Recently new owners Rob and Allie have taken the reigns and the business continues to EXCEED my expectations. The facilities, the staff and the sheer passion for dogs is unparalleled. Simply put, we would not have been able to have dogs if it weren’t for Paws’ daycare, training and multiple other services. Just an outstanding operation!

Absolutely the best! I've taken several obedience classes with John over the past 14 years with 2 dogs. His credentials are unparalleled, but so is is mastery of the art of training pet dogs, and their masters! It doesn't take long to figure out exactly who is being trained. ) He has a unique ability to do no-nonsense teaching with an engaging sense of humor. And that combination puts everything in perspective about a good relationship between our dogs and us. Having tested the waters in other training courses, there is no doubt in my mind, he is the man.Having some "issues" with my previous dog, a loveable but strong-willed Polish Lowland Sheepdog, John came to my home for a private session. By the time he left, my dog was just about saluting both John and me! I appreciate that Paws-itive Experience offers at-home training, since some behaviors are only home based.Very recently I enrolled my dog in a Therapy Class with Tracey. Again. Fabulous. I was truly impressed with her ability to insure the dogs and owners were well prepared for the test certification in a 6 session course. Even more impressive. . . one could immediately sense she has a very special connect with dogs and their innate behaviors and personalities, which she successfully conveyed to each of the owners. She has great class management skills, giving each dog inividual attention without neglecting the class as a whole. In addition to carefully crafting each class to meet the certification standards, Tracey was a constant source of calm encouragement, never wavering from the goals of the class. I liked her style so much, I would unequivocally encourage any dog owner to take any class she offered!I occasionally use the doggie day care, primarily for socialization and playtime. My dog loves it. I used to take her to local dog parks, but became unnerved by the zero lack of attentiveness among owners. It seemed an uncontrolled free-for-all with which I was personally uncomfortable. Not so at Paws-itive Experience, where the play areas are under constant supervision, and any potential problems nipped in the bud. I have no worries about leaving my dog in this very fun, but attentive environment. And then there is the administrative support staff, lead by Erin, who is clearly on the cutting edge of research for the physical and emotional well being of dogs. Everything from a wide selection of foods to aquatic treadmill is available, as is her expertise. All the staff members are knowledgeable and willing to help. Always friendly. Always courteous. When I call/email with a question, I know I will get a prompt reply. On all counts, Paws-itive experience is a very comfortable and welcoming place, and one I can highly recommend without reservation.

Been using them for 4 years when I got my 2.5yr reactive schnauzer mix Brooklyn. Everyone there cares for the dogs and wants to see them improve. I love to use them for her treats, raw diet, day care, and drop in agility now. We have taken all their courses and I moved 40min away from there and I still go there. They know us by name.

I have been bringing my dogs here for grooming for 2 years now. Tim does a fabulous job with grooming. However, he is not the greatest with timing and scheduling. Last weekend I had an appointment for one of my dogs, 8am opening time. I was there 10 minutes early. Not a single employee even showed up until 5 after 8. Tim showed up 10 after 8. Fast forward to a week later, I have an appointment for my other dog 9am. First, today they are open an hour later, which I found odd. I made sure to show up 5 after 9 after the way last week went. I left at 9:20 when absolutely no one had shown up. Yes 20 min after opening, not a single soul. What kind of way is that to run a business!? I'm done. Time to find someone else.

Did not like the training. The trainer was very hard on some dogs he liked to grab their leash and actually hang them while they yelped. He did not like it if you were not harsh on your dog and he pretty much ignored us since we would not discipline our dog harshly by hanging her. We talked to them before enrolling our dog to make sure they could help us with the fact that she wants to play with all dogs she sees and they said they could help us but they didn't even try except to tell us she's out of control and we need to hang her by her collar and mind you she is already trained except for that one thing. To all we just came back from a 10 day vacation to Acadia NP with the dog and she was so amazingly well behaved it wasn't funny and that was to no help of pawsitive they didn't teach us or her anything she didn't already do. Stay away this training is not a positive experience by no means I would not even give them a one but you must put something there to post!

We have been very happy with our grooming experience at Pawsitive Experience. Today they also did a very nice groom on our dog, but I was concerned by behavior I saw at the counter we paid at. This is not part of the grooming facility - it’s in the main part of the building where all the dogs play. Behind the counter is a pen where they keep dogs that are waiting to be picked up. We went up to the counter and a girl who worked there started banging on the mettle pen and shouting at the dogs to shut up! It was very disturbing. Her hitting the pen made a very loud bang and if any of those dogs were the nervous type to begin with it would have traumatized them I’m sure. I confirmed with the groomers that the dogs they take stay with them the whole time and I really like the lady who grooms our dog, but I wouldn’t bring my dog there for day care for sure. Also thinking that if they act that way while people are watching, I’d be nervous to see what happens behind the scenes. It was disappointing.

When we went to pick up our pup he wasn’t in the room with all the others. He was in timeout, which is fine I do timeout at home for him. What bothers me is how it transpired. I was told he seemed tired and went to lay down on the side and when the other dogs approached him he barked so they tried to “correct” him. Now what they mean by that is basically hanging him from a slip lead. I was then instructed that at home I need to be hanging him by his collar until he complies and sits. I personally use positive reinforcement training. I feel negative reinforcement is not an acceptable form of training. If the staff had known anything about dog behavior my dog had already put himself in timeout and should have been put in the timeout area before any of this so called correcting even took place. It was completely unecessary and completely avoidable. I do not agree with negative training and will not be bringing my dog here ever again. He is a rambunctious adolencent who is in the most important stages of development for being socialized. This experience was a very bad one for him. I personally feel they just get a high off of asserting dominance on animals. To make matters worse he now has kennel cough because they do not require the dogs to be vaccinated against influenza or kennel cough. This place was close to my home and very convenient. It’s a shame. I would be giving negative stars if that was an option

John is amazing and I am so happy to have Obi in his class. He really helps you understand training your four legged family member. Learned so much and look forward to going to more classes. I had to update my post. Your training saved our dog's life today. Obi slipped out of my husband grasp today. We live right next to 80 west. Obi was running right to the highway and my husband followed exactly what you taught us. Obi-Wan came right back!!! Thank you!

we came here for daycare and multiple trainings several years ago for both of our dogs. we felt confident in the staff, especially becky at the time, and john who did the trainings. we moved away but returned for the weekend and was hoping we could merely pick up where we left off. not the case since becky had been gone for years. the place used to have a packed house of dogs - today maybe there were 6-10.we had to do a re-evaluation of our dogs to ensure they weren’t aggressive - ( understandable - our dogs are fine bc they attend doggie daycare in our home state). well they bring out an anti social dog at first. then go get three more dogs which were just as anti-social. one of them got aggressive with ours so we decided against leaving them.this place was great while it lasted but we will not return.

I have been to quite a few places to get my cat groomed and have been disappointed by many. Today Tim groomed my cat and he did such an amazing job and a great price. I will always bring my cat to Tim from now on! Thank you for your excellent service, excellent grooming and for taking such good care of my cat!

Three months ago I adopted a 3yr old pit bull mix from a rescue in Brooklyn. He had been living in a kennel with 300 other dogs for over a year, and had a long history of abuse and being bounced around from one family to another prior to that. Needless to say when he came home he was a very fearful dog, which tended to come out as aggression. I knew that if I was going to make this work, I had to find the perfect trainer to work with us. I was hesitant to try Pawsitive Experience at first; I did not want to go to the trainer that was closest to me simply for convenience. I felt that Sam needed one-on-one sessions with someone who specialized in aggression or bully breeds, so I began asking around for the best dog trainers. After hearing “you HAVE to see John at Pawsitive Experience, he’s a miracle worker” for the millionth time, I decided to give them a shot, and now can’t believe I ever considered going anywhere else. John is in fact a miracle worker, and focuses more on behavior than obedience, which was very important to me. I was worried that we would be kicked out of our basic obedience group class because of Sam’s behavior, but instead found that John took a particular liking to him, which put us both at ease. John was kind enough to stay an hour late with us-til 10pm-several nights in order to help me out with some of his more difficult behavioral issues. Sam definitely went in as the worst behaved dog in the class, but recently graduated Basic Obedience 1 as a much better dog, and will be back for all of John’s classes in the future. The best aspect of Pawsitive Experience is that their knowledge and support doesn’t end with training. Sam also came with a mess of medical problems ranging from allergies to seizures, and John’s wife Erin has been a godsend in helping us deal with these issues. She is extremely knowledgeable about all types of food, and helped us switch over to a raw diet when I thought we were out of options to deal with his allergies. She spent an hour with me discussing Sam’s food options, and is there to help me every time I come in to buy more food. When he became sick after switching foods and I was concerned about him, I sent Erin an email asking for her advice, and she got back to me immediately-on Thanksgiving! When I began talking to her more and described some strange behaviors I noticed in Sam, she was able to tell me that he was having petit mal seizures, which was later confirmed by our vet. I am so grateful to have found such wonderful people that understand how so many aspects of a dog’s life-such as health, diet, exercise, and obedience-affect their behavior, and who can help us in every one of these areas.John, Erin, Becky, Eric, and every single staff member at Pawsitive are friendly, knowledgeable and genuinely there to help you help your dog. Sam and I could not be happier with Pawsitive Experience, and we are both so grateful for all they have done for us. Thank you guys for being the best!
