This charity is outstanding. They run on a shoestring budget and save dogs that would probably be put down. They do the most creative fundraisers. Love their staff. And all the wonderful pups. Great charity to donate to.

Adopted my boy Charlie almost 2 years ago. The absolute best decision was my husband and I deciding to go with Southern Paws. They were thorough and made sure he really had a good home to go to. When I do EVENTUALLY adopt again, it will only be from southern paws. Thank you guys for everything that you do, you’re killing it out there.

I have adopted from different Rescues and I can confidently say that Ashley and the Southern Paws Team is hands down THE BEST RESCUE and there is no other rescue out there like it. The level of passion and commitment towards their vision is unmatched. Ashley truly cares about what she does and it shows in her daily actions. She dedicates her entire life towards saving these animals and finding the right homes for them. The process was very thorough unlike any other rescue and Ashley is so knowledgeable due to her years and years of experience. I got my most recent dog with them, Artemis, who is an amazing addition to my family. The staff, especially Ashley, is incredibly professional and know dogs; they clearly love what they do and they take each and every single one of their dogs that they retrieve and save into consideration when being adopted. They know their needs and do their hardest to find the families that they know will suit best. I cannot wait to adopt from them again when the time arises.

In the past year our family has adopted two incredible dogs from Southern Paws. Our first was an 8 week old puppy and our 2nd was a two year old who was a victim of terrible cruelty before she was rescued by Southern Paws. Their love for each animal and their professionalism in each adoption is impeccable. They carefully vet prospective pet parents to be sure that their dogs wind up in the best homes. If you saw what my two year old suffered at the hands of her previous owner, you would understand and appreciate Southern Paws strict vetting policy. My sweet girl had her tail and back right paw cut off and was left bleeding to death in the woods. Without Southern Paws and their sister organizations, many of these dogs would die.They do not have a meet and greet process which worked perfectly fine for our family. I cannot recommend them enough.

Southern Paws is an amazing rescue. They process your application very thoroughly. They reached out to our vet and recommendations to see what our lifestyle was like. The home check was pretty easy to through FaceTime. my dog came up-to-date on vaccines and I received all medical documentation from her previous vet visits down south. Adoption day was organized and welcoming. I definitely plan on adopting through Southern Paws again!

I can not recommend Southern Paws highly enough. What an all around fantastic experience we had with their team! They were incredibly organized, extremely thorough, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. We came up from Maryland recently to rescue our Gracie (formerly Stella) and the entire experience was flawless from beginning to end. Ashley, Gina, and the entire crew of volunteers and staff are beyond dedicated to the care and welfare of each animal. We adopted our boy Gibbs on 2/6/22. We had such a positive experience adopting him. Any questions I had Ashley would assist me and take my phone calls. I always say we are blessed because he is the perfect dog. He has the quirkiest personality and I am so thankful he is our perfect pooch. I had the best experience adopting Summer aka Devan. It made me feel comfortable when Southern Paws thoroughly interviewed us and did a home inspection. The team at Southern Paws rescue is top notch. They were very easy to work with getting our adoption approved and coordinating pick up of our pup. Ashley went above and beyond answering all of our new dog parent questions. We are still in contact 2 years later and she is just as quick to respond to a question or lend a helping hand even with everything she is doing for her rescue and other rescues. After searching for a new puppy to add to our family, we finally found Southern Paws who would allow us to adopt a puppy, despite having young children and both of us working full-time. We wanted our children to have the experience of raising a puppy. We have owned many dogs and are very familiar with what it takes to raise/train them, however, many places expected us to be home all day or wouldn't allow us to adopt a puppy with children under age six. We were instantly denied by several other places but after talking with Ashley and being completely upfront with her about our family, we were approved! We traveled five hours from Southern Maryland to pick up our pup. He was thoroughly vetted and even our veterinarian was impressed by the amount of paperwork that was provided with the adoption paperwork. We're so happy we added Kilo (formerly Beethoven) to our family!

Everyone at Southern Paws is amazing! You can tell they truly care about the health and well being of every single dog they rescue! They also take the time to go over absolutely everything with the new owners, too. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience!! Not only all that, but my vet has said my new pup is one of the most clean, healthy, happy pups they’ve seen! They said he was so well cared for prior to his adoption. Southern Paws Rocks. We got our boy Dax from them a few months back. I am a Professional dog trainer as well as a SAR dog handler. Ashley brought me 2 feral cats for my barn. She set up their crates, food, water and litter and gave very understandable directions on how to care for them. I was a bit nervous as I never cared for cats before but she put me at ease. Very knowledgeable and compassionate.
