I cannot say enough great things about this business and those that work there. They are in business of bonsais and they are what you expect professionals to have and care for when you arrive. They have many different species separated out, I BELIEVE by tropical, sub-tropical, and hardier deciduous and conifer shrubs/plants/trees via greenhouses and outdoor stands. They provide care instructions, answer your questions, and IMO are priced very well. While still expensive, you can tell the quality is unmatched to what you may find online or at a nursery that happens to have 1-2 bonsais in.My favorite part about this business is that even several months after my purchases there, they are very responsive to my questions — I just moved my Jade bonsai inside due to winter conditions increasing and they answered my lengthily questions by email in the same day! Such amazing customer service, I was honestly floored. If you’re on the fence with where to go, I highly recommend trying this place.

If you’re looking to get into bonsai are just want to look around I highly recommend this nursery. There is a huge selection of bonsai from ones you can start on your own to beautifully shaped and pruned bonsai. The people there helped me out a lot and answered all my questions.

The relaxing drive from Philadelphia to Allshapes Bonsai & Nursery was so worth it! The owners and staff welcomed us, our dog (who ran around the nursery super happy) and my little tree that was my first attempt at pruning and wiring. They looked at my little bonsai and diagnosed an insect problem that I hadn't noticed and they recommended an organic cure. I also bought bonsai soil and an appropriate plant food. The owners and staff were very friendly and knowledgable. I learned a lot about bonsai and how to care for them. Dale and the rest of the staff have a patience and eagerness to share seems inexhaustible. Dale walked around the grounds with us and graduated us from amateur to amateur Plus. They are now my go-to place for knowledge, advice and a nice day with nice people in the country with living works of art.

Dave is really nice and will teach you everything that your need to know. I’m really satisfied with my experience and will come back again. They have products for people with all budgets with trees ranging from 12 to 1200 dollars. I really recommend you come.

I take my girlfriend to All Shapes every year to pick a bonsai for her birthday. Between the owners service and expansive knowledge, the selection, and the quality of the plants there really is no other place like them. The super friendly dog that hangs around never hurts either. This is the kind of place that reinforces the advantage of shopping small business.

My husband and I have so much respect for Allshapes. The owner we usually speak to there is extremely knowledgeable and cares about the plants more than making a quick buck which is what keeps us coming back! His passion shows and the quality of the plants is top notch. I definitely recommend Allshapes for any of your bonsai needs. Even if they don't have something in stock, they are willing to go out of their way to get it for you. Unparalleled customer service!

Great place, large selection. My wife and I stopped by yesterday and met owner, Dave and Tito the dog. Both were friendly and Dave was very helpful, answering all of my questions. At just over an hour, It's a bit of a drive from my house but worth the trip, I can see myself returning in the spring.

Was there7/27/20. Purchased 3 trees about $20 each. Liked the variety of pre-bonsai. They had beautiful specimen bonsai. Bought some wire also 500g for $15, very reasonable. Took a tree with me. The owner was very willing to answer my questions and offer advice. It was a great experience. I'll be going back.

There is an incredible selection of trees for beginner up to advanced (I am a beginner). The owner talked to me for awhile about the environment I would be keeping the bonsai in and helped me find the right bonsai for me. He then instructed me on how to best care for my particular bonsai. That was about 6 months ago and my tree has grown significantly and is beautiful. Another point about the nursery, even if you are not in the market for one of the more expensive 10-15 year old trees--They are still beautiful to look at! So take an afternoon and check this place out. I am hoping to get another bonsai from them soon :)

Great place - the two person from crew was really helpful to understand how to take care of the tress and you will return with good amount of knowledge about bonsai . Lots of varieties at all stages of bonsai .my only concern was that not much of fruit based plants . pomegranate, cherry and plum are the only available fruit bass plants .

Walked around enjoying the large variety of really beautiful bonsai trees. I ended up getting 2 Japanese juniper trees, one for my son and the other for myself. Looking forward to taking care of them and hopefully seeing them grow into mature trees as nice as the ones they have here.

Walked in with a lot of expectations, a lot of previous research into Bonsai, but no practical experience in the actual art form. Was greeted by Dave and Gene, and ended up working with Gene for the better part of an hour while he showed me around. I ended up selecting a Trident Maple with a beautiful trunk to be picked up in March, and went home with a full set of tools, wire, an excellent Chinese Elm, and a tiny sprite of a Satsuki Azalea. In about an hour, Dave and, primarily, Gene sent me home with a current, future, and long-term project to keep me busy for years.I will absolutely be visiting this place again.

Lets start at the beginning. After deciding that my next hobby was going to involve bonsai, the search was on. Countless hours I spent looking for a good place to buy a bonsai online. There must be someplace I thought, searching through websites like Amazon, or the Bonsai Outlet. Even ordering a tree from another un-named website; only to be disappointed upon receiving something that was a far cry from the website's images. My hope in finding something almost lost, I stumbled upon an add for Allshapes Bonsai Nursery. As a final "What the hell", I decided to drive up the next day, a Friday. Off the beaten path sums up the location. Good thing for GPS, as the long, gravel driveway and tiny sign are very easy to miss. With little expectations, I drove into a mecca of bonsai. How exciting it was, walking through greenhouse after greenhouse of all the trees you could imagine. Everything from starters to finished bonsai in all sizes and shapes. What a great selection. The selection, however, is not what prompts the five-star review. The assistance is. After wondering around a bit, I was met by the owner, Dave. He was quick to answer every question that I had built up over the last few weeks of online research and even quicker to challenge some of the amateur opinions I had mistakenly adopted. The only person working that day, I'm sure he had a list of choirs; however, he had no problem stopping to talk me through what types of trees I should be looking at and there needs. I ended up not only buying a tree, but acquiring a great place that I can come back to for help and information. I'm sure I will be back very soon for my next purchase. Let me end this review on a personnel note. After attempting to buy bonsai online, there is no substitute for buying in person. I have very specific tastes, and would much rather spend a little more money knowing I'm getting exactly what I'm seeing and that it is in good health. Check this place out, I'm sure you'll be happy you did. I am.

Went here last week with a bonsai tree I recently bought but knew nothing about. The owner Dave was very helpful. Not only did he tell me what type of tree I had, (chinese elm) but told me all types of info on how to care for it, winterize it, and even took the time to give me a wiring demonstration. Ill admit it was a monday n no other customers were there so i got lucky he was able to spend so much time with me n my buddy. We basically had a mini bonsai training course. This place was well worth the hour drive.Beautiful assortment of all types of bonsai and pre bonsai trees. I like that there are young and old trees of all different species here. so you could start small if you're a newbie like me. You can walk out of there with a bonsai for $12 or over $1200. You wont find a better place in Jersey. I couldnt help but buy 2 more young brazilian rain trees, which are doing great thanks to the tips Dave gave me. Take the drive its totally worth it!

Stopped in this past Sunday in hopes of getting some info and a possible bonsai. Walked around a bit when Dave came over. What a fantastic guy. Very patient, informative, and genuine. He answered all my questions throughly yet simple enough for me to understand. I ended up with a small brush cherry bonsai and needed accessories. Never once upsold me, which is so rare nowadays. Their bosais are all so nice looking. If I had the money I could've spent a small fortune there. Can't wait to go back.
