Staff is always so friendly and helpful. I pop in and out quick for some treats for my dog and every time I have questions i.e. which treats have more fiber in them cause my dog has a sensitive tummy, they know which treats to point me to :)

Great pet store with crickets! My leopard gecko goes through tons of them so it's cool they're so close and carry them! It was happy and friendly inside without a single pressure to buy anything or join the membership (I did both)!

The staff is absolutely delightful and the store is well-maintained. It's not a huge store but my dog is a big fan anyway. Except for the baths - I like them, but she doesn't! :)

I'm surprised at the negative reviews about Doggie Dog World Rescue (aka Close to Home Animal Sanctuary). I adopted a puppy from them last March and could not have had a better experience. Lisa was a pleasure to communicate with and my puppy (beagle/coonhound mix) was exactly as she described. She's now just over a year old and brings me so much happiness each day. I'm sorry to those who had negative experiences but mine was absolutely fine.

Self serve dog wash.... Is great if you love taking a freezing cold shower. Been here multiple times where there was no hot water. Would rather drive an extra 10 minutes to the one in Wayne

Not very professional. Employees sit on the counters with friends. Not a good selesction, especially for lizards. Premium dog food is over priced. They were out of crickets for 3 days straight. Only reason it gets 2 stars over one is because it's right next to the gym I go to

After a vet visit that left my kitten so stressed out, I thought maybe a trip to spend a lot of money on him would make him feel better. My cat suffers from asthma and knows that any trip to the vet means he will be placed on a new medication to help him breathe.Instantly as Okami (my cat) and I entered petvalu, Jake A. greeted us with a welcoming smile. He helped me find pill pockets so Okami can take his medication a little easier as well as got me a cart to put Okami's crate on. Jake talked about his cat, which was nice to know he wants to get to know his customers and be able to relate to them on a personal level. I have never seen Okami more relaxed in my life (which I'm jealous about ha) and I knew it was because Jake helped me pick out the right items for my little guy. Okami is limited to a lot of things because of his asthma, so Jake helped us with limited ingredient dry foods. He even gave us free samples of two different flavor dry foods that Okami is dying to try!Jake is a wonderful employee who made my sad little kitty into the happiest cat in the world. Jake saw that my cat, as well as myself, were stressed after the vet, and did his best to make sure Okami and I felt like we were at home. I would give this store more than 5 stars but unfortunately I'm limited to the number! Best petvalu around!
