BUYER BEWARE!!! THEY DO NOT HONOR THEIR SIGNAGE WHEN THEY ARE WRONG!!! MANAGER AND SHIFT SUPERVISOR NEED A CLASS ON CUSTOMER SERVICE AND HOW TO POST CORRECT SIGNAGE!!!This store is filled with the laziest people I have ever seen! The manager is nasty, always thinks she's correct, and obviously quite lazy. The sign over the seasonal items said "50% off" NOT "Christmas Items ONLY 50% off". Apparently there are these "invisible tags" that only the manager can see that indicates if the item is a seasonal item and therefore 50% off. I couldn't see the tags so they must be "invisible." I've worked many retail jobs. SIGNAGE IS EXTRMELELY IMPORTANT. It's obvious that she didn't take the time to make appropriate sale SIGNAGE, nor did she care to confuse her customers. By the way she spoke to me "ON SPEAKER PHONE," she could care less about her store and her customers. The ONLY thing she cares about is that SHE IS NOT WRONG. Apparently its my fault that Im confused. MAYBE ITS ABOUT TIME TO SPEAK TO HER MANAGER (DISTRICT / REGIONAL MANAGER) ABOUT HER MANNERS AND LAZINESS.

Store is dark it needs new lighting. Can't remember the last time I was in there and didn't have to walk around carts of stock to be put on shelves. One employee who I think might be a manager is ALWAYS on her phone with her Bluetooth while checking out customers. It's very very unprofessional cause customers would rather not listen to her conversations. It's something I've never seen in any retail store that includes other Dollar General locations.

Immediately felt uneasy walking into the store. The store smelled musky, I felt like I was inhaling dust with every breath, the entire place was cluttered with boxes, it was overall very unorganized and dirty, the worker wasn’t welcoming, and it was so dimly lit that in some areas of the store it was tough to see. I’m giving it 2 stars because it’s not exactly supposed to be a fancy establishment, it is a dollar store after all, but this was just appalling. I walked out of there not even 2 mins after walking in.

Always clean. Granted its relatively newly open. Staff is super friendly. They always have some good bargains. Surprisingly well stocked with a wide variety of things. Just what south Plainfield needed. Great replacement for walgreens, but better.

This store is a mess .... all the time! It's dark inside, light bulbs burned out and not replaced .... stock in boxes up and down most every aisle .... merchandise just thrown here 'n there .... half the time they're out-of-stock on most everything. I don't know who manages this store, but Corporate needs to see this.

Like most Dollar Generals the prices are good and the selection is decent. I was looking for some cheap sweatpants but sadly they had no men's clothing, just children's and women's. Nice store though.

I love going to dollar places and here is why* they don't sell stuff in bulk because if they did they would need more space for the products! But this is definitely useful for people that don't really have a big family!* Their prices aren't way too far off from Walmarts! Think about it would you rather drive all the way to Walmart(wasting gas unless you are very close to Walmart than in that case that is a different story 😅) or go to your local Dollar General?!? (Saving gas by the way and if you compare the price isn't too far!*they have everything minus furniture 😅*etc(not sure what else to say here but you get my point ☺Whoever is reading this I hope you have many blessings not only today but everyday!🙏

Love Dollar General. Prices are really reasonable & product selection is great. I do a major part of my grocery shopping there. Would suggest that the South Plainfield NJ location needs to expand as the aisles are tight, especially when displays are set up in them.

Third time going for aluminum foil pans and third time prices are not accurate with what they are labeled. The pan will say a dollar and when I go to check out it is a much higher price. Very annoying when something comes up to $13 that was labeled as $4. Going to ShopRite!

Its like any other dollar store. There are items with below dollar value too. Large collection of items and very spacious and carefully placed. So you wont miss an item which is available. Overall its great..

It was k I don't find big bags or toys for my grandkids they didn't have what I really wanted and if it surpos3 to be dollar General didn't like that the clothes were higher and not in the right size and stuff just throw an anyplace the store was k

Visible from road, free parking. We went there to return. Earlier there was only one billing person and we waited for 5-7 mins later a dollar general billing guy came and helped us for return, he was nice guy

Have to admit I was mad when I found out that they were building a Dollar General in my town but now its my favorite store in SP. I mean where else can you get canned meats for a buck!!
