The pharmacy team here is simply amazing! The pharmacist Chinyere helped me today by calling the doctor to switch my son’s medicine to a much cheaper alternative. The thing is, I didn’t even ask her to do so. She did so on her own (even though it is adding to her workload) out of the goodness of her heart and her care for her patients. What a kind soul. And Zita is always so kind and friendly at checkout at well! What a great team and amazing pharmacy!

Walked in with a prescription, I wasn't expecting to wait around. I told them I would come back in a few hours. In which I did do that. I came back few hours later, and it was not filled yet. I was told I would have to come back in an hour because it was 2 minutes before their lunch. I gave them hours to fill a simple prescription.The pharmacist was rude when I dropped the prescription off and rude when I asked if it was ready. This is not the first time I've had an issue.One of the pharmacists didn't even look like a professional pharmacist, wearing champion sweatpants, shirt unbuttoned, looking disheveled and not professional at all. Not great customer service. That's a shame to lose a customers business.

The Pharmacy team goes out of their way to make sure you’re cared for. Even though it is a part of a large company you are seen as an individual.I have been a faithful customer at this Rite Aid for the past 3 years. I used to work as a pharmacy tech when I was in college and I know how difficult it is to fill prescriptions, call doctors offices, and deal with the public. If you choose to go to a store as busy as this one than you have to be ready to be patient and prepared. I have seen people yell at the pharmacists, techs, and associates for things that are out of their control. The pharmacist can’t fill a prescription YOUR doctor didn’t eScribe. The team will go above and beyond for any patient. I’ve witnessed it on multiple occasions. People who review this team poorly are living in a world where everything should revolve around them. If you go to a busy pharmacy you need to communicate with the team. If you need something done quickly and have a legitimate reason, the pharmacy team will do everything in their power to get it done.

The pharmacy does not answer the phone. At all, ever. If you have a question about your prescription or need help in any way, you have to go to the pharmacy in person. This has been going on for months. If you show up to see if the prescription you dropped off hours ago is ready because no one answered the phone, they will be annoyed you're there before you received your text.Spare yourself the hassle and go to a different pharmacy. I will be switching.

I would have given negative ratings if possible but just because they have one male tech who was so generous and polite I am giving one star just for him . They never pick up phone call at pharmacy! Very poor customer service!

Great Pharmacy, pharm tech Sneh was a really good guy. He helped me in selecting the right medicine. I hope he always stays at this rite aid he’s the only one with good customer service. Their phone answering service is so poor. I called and held on for almost 40 minutes. No live person answered the phone after walking through the automated prompts. It's so appalling.

I am extremely unsatisfied with this pharmacy. You call in a refill in the early morning & it isn't ready until the next day assuming they have the meds you need. The pharmacist is not only rude & uncaring but doesn't give recommendations for any alternate otc medications. Once she gave me the wrong medication. I am pulling all my medication out of this pharmacy & going to Walgreens.

Slow and rude! I had an vaccine appointment and waited 12 min at the counter before someone would even acknowledge me! When the clerk finally did, she was rude and curt. Furthermore, I waited 40 min past my apt time for my vaccine! Save your time and dignity, Do NOT patronize this pharmacy!

They never have your prescriptions ready, even if your Dr called it in hours earlier and dont start making it till you show up. They don't answer the phone when you call ahead to see if your prescription is ready either. They don't seem to understand that when you're sick you don't want to be leaving the house multiple times or sitting in a Rite Aid for an hour. Avoid this pharmacy!

HORRIBLEEE !!! Don't waste your time. Customer service sucks. Came here cause it was close to my families house I was staying. Dropped my scripts off @2pm. They never called or texted me. I called them and they answered at 5pm they told me come in 30 mins. They'll be ready, when I get there they took forever and told me that they didn't have in stock one of the prescriptions. I told them why didn't they tell me earlier I could've went somewhere else. I have a sick child waiting for the medicine. All they said was sorry. Unbelievable

Never coming back here for a flu shot again. Last year I waited for about 40 minutes, with a lot of other people waiting. I gave them the benefit of the doubt as I was a walk in. Because of that, this year I made an appointment for 4pm. I am the only person waiting for a shot that takes 30seconds to administer and I finally was taken 25 minutes later. What's the point of making an appointment if they aren't ready for you?

The Pharmacist Jessica was very kind. I was a couple of minutes late to pickup my prescriptions and she was kind enough to help after the Pharmacy hours at the store general cash register. She did it after I mentioned her that I really need those precautions for my family. I am extremely grateful for her courteous and humane gestures. Thank you Jessica.

This location is awful. I waited on the phone trying to talk to someone in the pharmacy for over 10 minutes. Called and called. No one ever answered. Also, prescriptions are never ready when they say it will be, but conveniently if you do get someone on the phone, your prescription is ready 10 minutes later. No more with this location, which does suck because it's so close to my house. Oh well.

I use this store primarily because it’s close to my home… That being said....I usually have constant problems with the pharmacy....They are very very slow. I understand things can take time but they are always slow. If I’m at the doctors for my children or myself the doctor will usually send the order right in… About an hour later I will drive up and they will tell me it’s still not ready. I will either have to wait or come back that’s a real pain in the butt. One time I was missing cream that came in individual packs… I don’t know what made me count them when I got outside but I did. I went back and came to find out that someone had opened the box… I had to go back the following day for the rest. They were very apologetic But this really should not happen. The store itself is very nice it has recently been renovated.

Worst pharmacy I’ve ever been to. They are constantly late on my medications, despite my doctor prescribing them a week or two in advance. My doctor called in an order for my medication 5 days ago. I go to pick it up today, and am told they don’t have enough, and it will be ready Monday. At least I got a partial refill to hold me off until than, but this happens every month. They are always late, and never check the fax machine or their orders.

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever used. They never answer the phone, I called 7 times. And this happens every time I try to get in contact with the pharmacy, not just a one time problem. Prescriptions take forever to fill and the wait in store is always ridiculous too.

My mother was in pain and needed a prescription filled. After standing at the window being ignored for 20 minutes, I was sent to the wrong isle to get what I was looking for. The prescription wasn't ready at that time, so it was just a minor annoyance. 6 hours later when it was now too late to change the order to another pharmacy, we were told they would not be able to fill it until 5pm the following day. This was after being told to call back, call back again, then being left on hold for 30+ minutes.I moved my families prescriptions out of this pharmacy years ago, honestly I forgot why. It was all refreshed with this experience today. Highly recommend anyone new to the area, use Walgreens or Sayreville Pharmacy before you have similar experiences.

My doctor picked this store as they are close and their pharmacy has later hours. She called in 3 scripts and gave me a handwritten 4th, which I brought. The original scripts had been waiting for approval and I handed in my written script and was told they'd message when they were all filled. Within 24 hours everything was ready. Upon pickup there were 3 others in front of me in line. I waited no more than 10 minutes.A last minute script was called the day before a procedure. They messaged and said it could be there the next day. I could not do without this med and upon calling they searched other area stores, found one within 30 minutes, open late and transferred my script to be filled. It was ready within 90 minutes. They were all friendly, efficient, helpful and considerate.

If I could rate this Rite Aid Pharmacy for NEGATIVE STARS I would. I have never in my life had to write a bad review for any reason but this was the absolute worst service I 've ever received. Every time I need to refill a prescription there is always an issue. I have called weeks prior to my pick up to make sure my prescription would be ready and still there would always be an issue. I basically have to do their job every time my refill comes around. Its a constant war. They should really consider hiring new staff, maybe someone who actually knows what they are doing and someone who is willing to do their job the right way. I nor anyone else should have to deal with such horrible service or the physical pain of being without their prescription. I also had my mother go to pick up a prescription for me, after I spoke with my doctors office to make sure that my prescription was sent over and it was, the worker behind the counter sent my mother away telling her they did not have my prescription. When I called the pharmacy not even ten minutes after my mother left they told me my prescription was ready for pick up. My doctor's office sent it over at 12pm. It was 4:30pm when my mother arrived. As you can imagine that was beyond frustrating. I cant believe these people actually get paid to constantly make mistakes, like I said this is not the 1st time this has happened to me. I am most defiantly changing my pharmacy and I advise anyone who is thinking about using this pharmacy to think again and go else where.

How is it possible that this pharmacy tells me to come the next day to receive a breathing machine for my daughter and it did not arrive? I came for her 2 times and to be told that she does not arrive is a lack of respect!! It's already late they would have told me in the morning that I wasn't going to arrive today, I'd get another place.

Do yourselves a favor, if you're considering using this pharmacy DO NOT DO IT. The bad experiences are just enumerable and would take to long to list. If you are looking to wait on line an average of 30-3-40 minutes, this is the place for you. At times there is one poor counter person running from the drive thru window to the counter. Most of the time the pharmacists won’t even look up at customers to acknowledge them. Just way too many awful awful experiences, I strongly recommend to stay away. Hell with location convenience, I’ve finally had enough.

Honestly speaking from my experience this store and pharmacy are fantastic. I been a customer for almost a year and have always been provided superior service. Its not the pharmacist or their teams' lacking if there a huge volume of prescriptions to call in and fill. That is just how business is sometimes. Carrying on this store also includes a Redi Clinic that offer certified physician assistants/clinicians for Minor Illnesses on a walk in basis. From my point of view Rite Aid store#3553 is doing an excellent job to keep my health in check.

Incredibly disappointed in how this pharmacy handles their business. I had a Covid medication sent over as I’m dealing with Covid currently and tried to call for a status update. Was hung up on three times, put on hold and forgotten about several times, and when I finally got thru to someone, they were dismissive and unhelpful. I was told “we don’t have it” so I asked what alternative options were. I was told to call around other pharmacies for availability, which is fine. I called back to confirm that they received my request to transfer scripts, was told yes and then was hung up on. I’m just amazed because of how difficult it was to get thru to them and then at how difficult they were. Don’t waste your time, there’s a much better Walgreens on Matawan Rd that works quickly and efficiently.
