I am very very particular about how I like my dogs groomed and Dear Puppy has never failed me. They always look so good when they come home! I would recommend this groomer to anybody. I’m moving out of the country soon and one of the things I’m going to miss the most is bringing my boys here.

Updated in 3/2024Since the incident described below, I have tried other pet grooming stores and it turned out Dear Puppy was better. Unfair to keep 1 star, so raises it to 4.Old comments:Do not go there unless you want your dog to become a Chihuahua. My dog's hair got slightly matted, but they trimmed it all the way down and make my dog a hairless Chihuaha. NOT RECOMMENDED.

The quality of grooming at this location is very good in comparison to my puppy’s other groomings at different locations. They took a picture of the reference photo on my phone when I got to the location, which I liked! The appointment was for about 3 hours and when I picked my puppy up, I was most impressed by how EVEN the cut was around his body and legs. He looked super cute and smelled amazing. I love whatever shampoo/conditioner they use. I will be returning to this location even though I live 30minutes away because so far this place has provided the best quality cut.One thing that I would pick on is that they don’t appear to have an automated system for confirming or reminding you of upcoming appointments. They will call you the day of the appointment to confirm.UPDATE: they’ve gotten an automated text system to confirm your appointment! I didn’t mention this before but they also give you a call 15min before your dog is ready to be picked up. Very helpful.I’ve moved to Texas since my original review and haven’t found a groomer as good as Dear Puppy out here. Whenever we go back to NJ I always make an appointment. They are still the best!

Wow. Can’t say anything but good things this place. Today was our first time giving DEAR PUPPY a try. We have been looking for a good local groomer. The woman at the counter was very polite and sweet. She was very attentive. The groomer also speaks with you personally how you want your fur baby cut and his attention to detail is phenomenal. Not many Korean groomers have experience with my breed, Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier, but he did a fantastic job. They are VERY fluent in English so don’t hesitate to give them a try.

Had a grooming done by Jay and my dog came out with the best haircut ever. Clean and cute. More than anything my dog seemed very happy when returned from grooming with Jay (he is usually very anxious.) Highly recommend Jay’s skill in grooming and taking care of the dog.

Honestly, as a long time customer (of the last ~4 years), I can honestly say I'd rather go somewhere else now. My dog has gotten a total of two injuries from this place (once by her neck a couple of years ago which I let go) and recently, her eye she got severe conjunctivitis (first photo is within 48 hours of the appointment, second photo is 8 days post medication) because of the lack of care from the groomer here (this resulted in hundreds of dollars of vet bills as a result).I'm all for supporting small businesses, but the way that the owners handled this situation was awful. I called them to let them know about my dog's eye, and the FIRST thing she said was not an apology, it was: "This hasn't happened before, not our fault" which made me extremely angry. Instead of calming me down, she was trying to look at past records of my dog's previous appointment to try and prove HER point. She was clearly unable to handle the situation and just offered to find a vet appointment for me- this is something I can do myself.I actually ended up bringing my dog back this time around, truly because there's nowhere else around me that's this close and convenient, only to be disappointed again. My dog's cut is fine and no injuries this time, but this place was NOT apologetic at all about the previous appointment or addressed anything. If I was a business owner, the first thing I would've done is comp the service for sake of a longer term outlook. Instead, I walked away with a bill of $120. We called post appointment just to let them know about our disappointment and their response was "We just didn't think that far"...If i screwed up a dog's eye resulting in some critical feedback, I certainly would've taken the time to make sure the service was top notch the nex time.What I can't get back is my time and vet bill money spent from their mistakes. I'm sure they are great people and they have been nothing but "nice", but this is just really not how you run a business.I've referred countless people to Dear Puppy, and now regretting those decisions and will be spreading the word.

I first started bringing my dog to see Jay when he was at "Groomingdales" and I lived in NYC. After finding him, I swore never to bring my dog to another groomer after so many bad ones within the city. Since then, they have moved locations and so have I. I still try to find an excuse to come into NJ for his haircuts though. I just can't find anyone with such meticulous skill as Jay! He is a magician!

Very reasonable price, clean atmosphere and friendly staffs.Most importantly, quality of the service is exeptional. one of my dog is very sensitive to touch and he can get mouthy when he gets touch around his legs and face. Dear puppy handles with professional care. my dogs come out cute and clean always reaching over my full expectation! So happy they moved closer to me.

Best groomer in Bergen County! We’ve been to 4 different places before we found Dear Puppy. Our first dog Jojo who’s adopted didn’t behave with other groomers until we found this place. Jojo had to be muzzled and other groomers just shaved him off probably because it was easier for them! Dear Puppy does an amazing job every time and reasonable prices. Been with them for 4 years now and never going anywhere else lol

My wife and I have had our Yorkie groomed at a few different places in the area for over 5 years. We’ve used Dear Puppy roughly 4 times now, and they’re great. Very clean facility, she doesn’t come home lethargic or sick (which happens at other places sometimes) and her haircut is always consistently great!.. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a new groomer

Been going here for years for 2 of my dogs. After I drop them off here I can be at peace knowing they are in good hands. I can tell that my dogs likes getting groomed here because they wag their tails and is willing to go in the shop unlike some place where they are terrified of going back due to stressful experience there. They always do a great job to give a full bath to my Shiba Inu. Usually it’s very hard to give bath to Shiba Inu but I have to say Dear Puppy is very patient and professional after we compared many other places.

I love this dog groomers place!! i always take them there and they come back looking so clean and cute! they always take such good care of my dogs. i gave them this new haircut to do on them and they look so much better then i expected!!! I originally brought it here. It actually looks so cute when you do the P-Cup again. This place is really the best. thank you!!
