I always always come here right after my karate session to buy stuff for me or my cat. Some employees that work here just have a bad attitude, other than that the rest of the employees have a great mood especially the nice security man that I greet. He’s my favorite person every time I go there. I left an honest review and I would’ve left a 4 stars but this family dollar is not as great as the one in west orange 😒I like that nice Security man tho 💪

I went into this store yesterday between 2:45 and 3. It was the WORSE experience. As soon as I walked in an employee had a speaker playing loud abnoxius music, with cursing etc. He was a medium build, dark-skinned with dreads. Dancing, making a scene, having an entire concert in front of customers. That was extremely unprofessional. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I wanted to purchase and item that was labeled a dollar less then what they say it was for. It was clearly marked on the shelves. They refuse to give it to me at that price. I was going to buy a Mother's day cup, they refuse to sell it to me because it was marked down, although I was willing to pay at the regular price. The cashier was very nice. He only did what he was told.

The store display one price on the shelves and then, the customers get charged more for the items they purchased. This overcharge price practice is wrong and the manager must be held accountable for that.

while the store is in a convenient location, alas this is the only good thing. It's somewhat disorganized, a bit of a pigsty at the front; and the aisles are often crowded with unpacked merchandise. A major problem is that items are sold with either no bag or the incorrect size. The staff are somewhat helpful earlier in the day, this is probably the best time to shop. As the hours dwindle to closing, the customer service also vanishes.

I love family dollar I shopped there for years and the service is always excellent very cool people and their prices are very cheap ... Who ever read this review domt hesitate go there especially if u wanna save some coins its hard out here wouldn't yall agree ...Im telling yall u won't be disappointed and u will save some coinsSs .....

They need better management. Long lines. One cashier. The store look like a hurricane hit. Where are the operational manager at to see that the store runs right. Not just this store. All the family dollar in the urban area. If your listening, tighten up these family dollar stores up. It look bad on the community, bad on management, but most of all on family dollar. Please look into these stores. Have some secret shoppers or something.

The staff is very polite and helpful but, the store can be very messy at times. Also I have gone to this location 3 times just for Wise Potato Chips. It seems as if everyone wants a nice bag of chips for $1.00.

All i asked for was for help i got yelled at .I used to love this place they were always helpful this one guy that had dreads I will never forget, his name was Charles if im not mistaken , very respectful, will go out his way to help customers especially the elder maybe he found something better Need more like him.wont be going there anymore

The management and staff need training on customer service. The line was very long and only one cashier was working while the manager was in the office and she had one of the employee standing at the door to control customers coming in instead of helping get the ones out......poor strategy....

I like this particular FD because of it's location. For the Orange locals, this spot has everything you may need. Whether your stopping in on your way to your morning bus or picking up something on your way home from work this is a great place to shop. They have just about everything.

Slowest service ever, every time I come here I find a long line with only one cash register open, and the cashier should win a prize for the slowest service! Although they have more than one cash registers but they don't care how long the line is!

Another hole in the wall Family Dollar. I thought I died and went to the 99 cent store hell! The best looking stores are probably the ones on Stuyvesant Avenue in Irvington and Scotland Road in Orange, but they're not too far behind in becoming a nightmare. When the Orange store opened it was decent, now you can see spilled snacks, socks, etc., on the floors under the shelves, along with ponytail holders on the floor in the aisles. When you walk in the door there's snacks and drinks close to the entrance that are just in the way and out of place. There were boxes cluttering the back of the store in front of the employee door, someone could trip and fall. The merchandise on the shelves are so disheveled, but they could care less, because it's in an urban area. Why give customers receipts asking them to participate in surveys if they're not going to improve? (Abandon all hope ye who enter here), should become the new name for these hole in the wall Family Dollars in the urban areas. These stores are fire hazards, I would fail these stores during an inspection if I worked for the city!

I always go after work (after 6:30) and its always crowded with 1 register. But even with that the young staff is always very friendly and try to keep the customers engaged as they are waiting. I love that!

OVERALL FAMILY IS AN OKAY PLACE TO SHOP ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED SOMETHING QUICK AND CANNOT MAKE IT TO A REGULAR GROCERY STORE....I JUST DID A QUICK STORE RUN AND MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE CASHIER WAS NOT PLEASANT. SHE DID NOT HAVE CHANGE FOR THE MONEY I HAD,SO I HAD TO USE MY CARD WHICH IS FINE ALTHOUGH THAT WAS NOT MY ORIGINAL PLAN. THE PART I HAD AN ISSUE WITH WAS HER SIDE COMMENTS TO HER COWORKER WHO HAD JUST WALKED IN.."THEY BE DOING TOO MUCH I MEAN ___ AMOUNT OF DOLLARS FOR __ AMOUNT OF DOLLARS? OH I HAVE TO STOP BEING SO BLUNT,SHE LAUGHED" ALL TO WHICH I HAD NO RESPONSE OR EYE CONTACT,I ACTED LIKE I HEARD HER NOT. SHE ENDED THE TRANSACTION WITH "SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE" WHICH IS MORE LIKE WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN SAID FROM THE BEGINNING. FIRST OF ALL MO(NAME OF CASHIER) IS NOT TOO BLUNT,SHE IS DISRESPECTFUL,RUDE AND LACKS DISCRETION.I MEAN I GET IT FAMILY DOLLAR HAS A REPUTATION FOR HIRING GHETTO(FOR LACK OF A BETTER WORD) PEOPLE,NOT TOO MANY EMPLOYEES THEY HIRE ARE PROFESSIONAL, IF IT'S PROFESSIONAL THEY'RE CORPORATE OR A MANAGER. DESPITE WHAT HER OPINION WAS,IT WAS NOT NECESSARY. MAYBE THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME WORKSHOP ON CUSTOMER SERVICE.AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN,MO IS NOT TOO BLUNT SHE LACKS DISCRETION AND RESPECT. BUT OTHER THAN THAT I GOT WHAT I CAME FOR.

My experience at Family Dollar was not good the store was not clean compared to other Family Dollars and was short staffed as usual and the staff where not friendly they did have a good selection though and and it was very well stocked

The manager was very nasty....you have products your advertising on sale and when you go in the store you can't get them at sale price with coupons...gain is on sale for 3.95 I had manufacturers coupons for 2.00 dollars off just as if you use your smart coupon it should be 1.95 each....she said no I can't use them...SMH THIS IS THE ONLY FAMILY DOLLAR THAT DID THAT....I TOLD HER AND SHE SAID ALL FAMILY DOLLAR STORES ARE NOT THE SAME....

The cashier was rude the freezer had rotten food and they will take your things if you're not looking I paid for a 6 pack of hand towels and the cashier never put back on the counter cause I said I would never come back there the manager just stood there when I got home is when I didn't see my hand towels
