We walked in the store at 9:45 instead of being credit we were told that the store is closing at in five minutes. Five minutes later at the register we were told again that they are closing. I asked if they’re closed and they want us to leave and the female cashier gave me an attitude, saying, condescendingly I am ringing you up. Her attitude as well as the attitude of the other male store. Assistant was so nasty. I just left whatever I wanted to purchase and left the store.

I do not come here alot, I've never had a bad experience until today. 3 employees behind the register talking amongst themselves. I went to a register and the man said I'm closed, then proceeds to tell the other employee that customers never pay attention to signs. I am not one to shut my mouth, I informed him he is rude and there are no signs on either register staying they are closed. Ill stick to a different store from now on.

Love this family dollar. The employees are very nice now that they got rid of a one employee she was so nasty and disrespectful to customers every time I was in the store. If I knew her name I would of certainly said it. But glad to see new employees. . They need to get a better system with prices cuz on the item it has a price but u bring it to register it’s another price.

Says online it closes at 10, I drive here and the kid has the door locked counting the register at 9:40. Super inconvenient. The sign on the door says 10pm close also.

I've shopped at this store since it opened and never have the staff been more friendly and courteous nor has the store been stocked so nicely. Ramone and Javan are the nicest..most hardworking ppl..they even bring bags to my car when they feel they are too heavy for me to carry. This sort of customer service is unheard of nowadays..I hope they never leave this location !

Generally,I've been satisfied with my shopping experience here.They could focus a bit more on organizing aisles better.Other than that,they have a decent selection of merchandise.

Nice store but kinda needs to be cleaned up a little in the back, and I know having (1) employee on and only at the register is hard need 1 more on, this time I went the cashier wasn't too friendly but the time before the one was extremely helpful and friendly

This store has gone downhill quickly!! Went for some extra school supplies and couldn't even get to anything, isles are lined with boxes beyond ridiculous! Frozen foods just left out in isle, dirty and messy! New store manager is so rude to customers and employees. This store used to be so great, what a difference staff makes...this is Oakhurst, not the ghetto!!

I was there about a month ago and the store was spotless, well stocked, and organized. There were very few customers there on a weekday afternoon. The clerk lady was very gregarious and helpful. I see in the pictures that the store looks disheveled, with palates in the aisle. Lady, you either have an axe to grind, or just picked a really bad day to go there! You think that was a bad experience? Try going to the Family Dollar on Main Street in Asbury. It is a total NIGHTMARE & TRAIN WRECK of a store EVERY single day. So, let me share my experiential Pros & Cons of this Oakhurst store. First, the Cons: #1. It is located in the back of a strip mall, so if you blink, you’ll pass right by it. If you’re coming from the South, and traveling on 35 North, it’s RIGHT ACROSS the street from the McDonald’s. #2: The aisles run West to East (or Left to Right), with a large aisle separating them down the middle. Slightly inconvenient. TIP: Take your time when shopping. They most likely have what you are looking for at incredible prices, but they’re not always located where you think they would be. Don’t be afraid to ask for help. The workers seem to know exactly where to look.Now the Pros: #1: As I stated, the prices are amazing. The selection is vast, & the shelves are well stocked. #2: Because of it’s peculiar location, it’s never annoyingly crowded. #3: It’s clean and has a visually appealing layout in each aisle.So, in closing...STAY AWAY from the Asbury Park Family Dollar! And lastly, if you didn’t have a good experience initially, go back again. Yeah, you can always go to Dollar Tree, but it doesn’t come close to the selection you’ll find at the Oakhurst location.

Family Dollar actually had what I was looking for They always have some good stuff in there I consider them better than Dollar General ! I felt bad for the guy behind the register he was working alone a lot of things didn't have prices and there was no one in the store for me to ask So I waited in line and it went fast And he was extremely nice to do the price checks for me I left the store with everything

One female African employee was soooo RUDE!!! I just ask for a bag for my stuff and she snobs and make comments about it!!!! She’s not good for customers especially working in the register!!!! So RUDE!!
