I'm giving a 1 star review not because I've stayed here but because the owners specifically Carmine, is rude, disrespectful and 10000% unprofessional. My son was hired and trained to work there for just one day. The following afternoon he was terminated with no explanation. When he went to the campground to find out about his 1 day of pay Carmine literally chased my son off the property, yelling to other staff members to call 911. All the while my son was asking what did he do wrong. My son is 18 years old with special needs. He is diagnosed with adhd and receives services at school. My son came home from the campsite shaking and hysterically crying. With a 30+ years of camping experience at another location we have never been treated as such. As a private business owner myself I have never treated any employee as such nor a customer. As a hiring person hiring high school aged children he needs to be a bit more empathetic and communicative with them. Any chanced of my family renting there just flew out the window after this traumatic experience.

We absolutely love The Great Divide. There is so much to do, even on weekdays. They have planned activities every day. They have a great playground and game room for the kids. On weekends, they have great bands on the lawn on Friday and Saturday nights with cozy fires that they tend. Sometimes they’ll have bands on Thursdays, Saturday afternoons and sometimes there’s entertainment by the pool on Wednesday. That said, if you want peace and quiet, the camping area is somehow sheltered and quiet while the bands play. The staff is friendly and attentive and the campground is pristine.

We love going to this campground. The campground is well maintained and clean. There are activities for all ages, my kids enjoyed the tie dying event. The pool is clean and relaxing to be around. The staff make you so welcome and you are treated like 5 star guests. The other guests are friendly and welcoming. The worst part is the day you have to pack up and leave. We can't wait to go back again.

Our new favorite campground!! This place is AWESOME! We loved the beautiful lake with kayaks and activities for the whole fam. We stayed a full week.. weekends are very lively and weekdays very quiet so depending what you prefer, you can have it all. Live music every weekend and all-out delicious pancake breakfast on Sats. Great vibe from the other campers and super friendly staff. We can't wait to come back next season when the pool is open. Book early they sell out quick!

My friends and I stayed in the yurt “kinda” camping site over the weekend, and the whole experience was fantastic. I am a frequent camper, and have stayed at camp sites from Lake George to West Virginia… The Great Divide is by far the nicest place I have stayed. The yurt site was incredibly clean, well maintained, and surprisingly spacious. The pictures posted on the website in no way do it justice. The site was right across from the cleanest campground bathrooms I’ve ever seen. I lost count of how many times the staff came to clean them, but it was at least seven times throughout the day on Saturday. All of the staff was super friendly, and seemed to really enjoy working there. The owner was present, approachable, and was actively working alongside the staff, and never gave the “hey I’m the boss” type of vibe. The rules for quite time at 11, and fires out at midnight are reasonable, and understandable for a family campground. My friends and I did keep the fire going right up to the midnight cut off trying to enjoy all the time we could, but we were respectfully quiet, and no one gave us a hard time. AND THEN THERE’S THE ENTERTAINMENT!!!... The musical guests are why we came, and they did not disappoint. If you are in anyway a music fan this is the place. Friday night had a band until 10:30, and there were three bands booked to play all day Saturday. If you were hanging by the pool, fishing or Kayaking on the lake, playing the yard games they had set up, or just hanging out you had great live music the whole time. If you are concerned about the music being too loud at your campsite don’t be. The entertainment area is separated from the campsites by a hill that blocks almost all sound; so, if it’s not your thing it’s all good. Also, to mention it is not a crazy rowdy party, just the right amount of party that families with young children can enjoy too. Unfortunately, a storm knocked out power Saturday night to the campground, and most of the surrounding area, and the third band wasn’t able to play. The owner and staff did a great job mitigating the power outage by connecting the bathrooms, and shower houses to generator power making sure the site still had lighted bathrooms with warm running water. My ONLY complaint is that maybe this place is just too awesome… I have been trying to come here with my RV for two years, and they are always booked out. I did learn at the office that they start taking reservations a year in advance, and they fill up quick. I’m just going to have start planning for next year now. Over all just a great place to visit. Thank you, The Great Divide, for an awesome weekend!

Our family LOVES this place! Staff is very accommodating and knowledgeable. The live music is amazing. There is endless activities, including the amazing barn. We have been to this place 4 times and counting, having a great experience each time! The Christmas in July theme was amazing, but my favorite was by far the Halloween/ clown weekend! I highly reccomend this place. The pool in the summer is clutch! Overall a great family place.

This campground is definitely one of the best campgrounds around! Tons to do, the campsites are immaculate, the pool is so clean and nice, the barn is really cool, music at the pavilion was so fun...and the staff is super helpful and friendly! The staff at most of the campgrounds we've visited often seem disgruntled but not here! We will definitely return as often as we can!

I'm from PA and travel for work staying in campgrounds all over. This is the most beautiful campground I've seen yet! A lot of hard work has to go into the maintenance here. Grass, trees, roads, everything is well maintained. Campground staff is very friendly and helpful with anything you need. I highly recommend this place to any of my fellow travel healthcare workers!!

The Great Divide Campground is a beautiful, well-maintained, and fun campground, seen to by a friendly and helpful staff. They went above and beyond during our stay to make us feel welcome and valued. The campsites are on the smaller side, but they are kept up very well, most of them are pretty close to the cleanest bathrooms/showers I've ever seen at a campground, and many have significant shade. The pool is large and clean, there are an abundance of lawn games/recreation opportunities, and the community activities - even during the relatively slow weekdays - are run by staff who seem to genuinely enjoy spending time with the guests.

What a find, this place is so cool 😎. Right here in Newton Nj. We were here for 4 nights and loved it. The place is really well kept, nice big pool, barn arcade, free kayaks on the lake and live bands every Friday and Saturday night at the pavilion.Sites are well kept and some tent sites are really unique. The staff here is all super friendly and helpful. Great job guys we will be back ❤️

We enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a cabine and in addition to this, we set up a small tent for the kids. There is an app where firewood and charcoal etc. can be ordered and delivered very promptly. So no reason to pack any such stuff with you. Only meat for grill and beer what you need. There are several programs that are interesting for kids as well: pool, fishing, car racing, hiking, kayaking. We had really pleasant time there with our kids.

Nice Campground with lots going on to entertain you! The pool was refreshing. The live music at the bandstand was great. Even better was the firepit groupings at the bandstand! VERY hilly. Would recommend a golf cart if walking up & down hills is challenging for you. The dump station is not convenient to exiting the Campground.

This is our second time camping at the Great Divide! The staff is amazing and the attention to detail is spot on! Music, fire pit and wood provided during the music is amazing! Never mind the fact that during music they tend to you fire too! Additionally the caliber of bands are by far some of the best we’ve seen! We will be back for Christmas in July weekend and looking forward to booking additional dates in 2024! Seeing some of the negative posters here is disappointing as most seem to be self inflicted! Ie: 6-8 bags of garbage left in your site while you camp but blame the owners for the bears after you have been given notice and warnings! As for complaints about bugs! We hope no one is allergic but we are camping so gotta come prepared! Thanks for the chuckle! Love love love the Great Divide! Amazing job Carmine, Lisa and staff!

We had a group camp out at the Great Divide Campground. The owner and staff were very responsive and assisted us with making the event absolutely epic. The campground, cabins, and amenities were all clean and comfortable. The campers at the site were all friendly and neighborly as well. We are looking forward to our next event at Great Divide.

I have been camping for 8 years and for the 1st time I came across an owner that was so rude and unprofessional. We followed all the campground rules and the owner didn’t like the review we posted about limited kids activities (12 and under). He showed up within few minutes of the review and threatened to ban us from all NJ campgrounds if we don’t remove the review! This also traumatized my youngest daughter when he yelled! Not very kids friendly. BTW the store manger is a very helpful and pleasant, great location!

My wife and I took our 18 month old son "kinda camping" this past weekend and are very happy we did so. Activities during the day were really fun, awesome playground, music was amazing. The site we stayed at (s9) was great and the campers around us were extremely friendly. Just a really great place to be, and get away for a few days. Anything you need for your campsite such as wood for the campfire, ice for the cooler, charcoal for the grill, and so much more is a call or click away. The staff is absolutely amazing and you can really tell they care about the quality of the campground, and your experience to the fullest. We will be making this an annual family getaway. Have to keep track of how tall our son is compared to the fork in the road! See ya next year!

My family and I rented one of the Rustic Cabins for 3 days. We had a great time. We hung out by the pool, went hiking, participated in some archery, went canoeing and enjoyed the nightly live band that visited the campgrounds. The employees were very friendly and helpful. The bathrooms and showered were clean. My only regret is I didn’t bring my fishing rod because there were plenty of fish in the man made lake. We can’t wait to return next year.

Nice location, nice campers. The staff and ownership is horrible; the owner doesn't know what he's doing as he was/is an electrician and clearly doesn't understand property management. He's rude and standoffish. Nothing better to do than complain about your campsite one way or the other. I highly recommend finding a different place to camp. Not coming back here ever.

Kim is amazing! So kind and very helpful. This is absolute the 100% best Campground ever! Outstanding staff, grounds, pool and bathrooms and showers are extremely clean, spotless. Pool was wonderful, happy campers everywhere. Family Friendly and Pup Friendly. If you need ice and wood, no worries!, call the office and they will deliver right too your site! Plenty of Activities, Fishing, Swimming. I cannot say enough good things. Don't go anywhere else. Come to the Great Divide! The Adams Family will be there!

I have never written a review before for anything, but this time it is justified. The staff is amazing, Deb is an absolute pleasure, had a problem with my electricity at my site Jeff was there in less than 2 minutes, fixed the problem and was extremely personable what a nice young man. The young man who was at the Pavillion Sunday night starting everyone's fire's I watched him work and was very impressed with his work ethic. Just wanted to give credit to the staff and let them know they are appreciated . John and Tina Ebike couple

Great campground! Def worth the money. We had so much fun at the great divide. We spent time in the pool, kayaked and saw fish and little turtles, painted, did archery, and enjoyed some musical performances. It was so nice to see everyone enjoying themselves together which is a different experience than most campgrounds where people usually stay on their own sites and don’t meet in a communal area.

One of the best campgrounds I've ever stayed at. We go every year for our annual trip. Very family friendly. You feel at home. Owner and staff are amazing. Campground and bathrooms are super clean. Weekend entertainment. So much to do for the kids and adults as well.

To Owners response —- we do not own or would ever let our 15 year old son ride a motorcycle without a license — he was riding a bicycle with a BEE that is designed to carry a child in it (kids were 6 and 9) and we apologized for him riding without a helmet. Which had no effect on the review and boring stay we had…… AGAIN —- THE DAY WE WERE LEAVING ONE PARTY POSTED A REVIEW WHICH ONWER STORMED IN YELLING threatening us THAT SHE HAD 24 hours to REMOVE THE REVIEW OR ELSE HE WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE IN OUR PARTY IS BANNED FROM ALL CAMPGROUNDS IN NJ INCLUDING HIS . 🤣 laughable since then we visited 5 other places and had no issues with booking any of them —- and as for his campground TRUST ME WE HAVE NO INTENTIONS OF EVER SEEING HIS FACE EVER AGAIN so he can ban us all day every day . ✌️. Also IF YOU TENT BE WARE OF BEARS I SEE PEOPLE POSTING BEARS ON THIS CAMPGROUND VERY OFTEN . We saw one as well see pic!! And if you think all the great reviews on most Facebook sites are true you would be surprised - i know for a fact some of the moderators remove any type of negative comments (ex: someone said their pond is too small to kayak ) 2 min later comment disappeared…. And I have plenty of those screen shots . We went there due to “great” reviews now we know it’s all fake and paid for .……………………..,………………………..BELOW IS THE ORIGINAL REVIEW —-We camp multiple times a year and never had negative experience at any other place like we did today. Let me start off by saying that neighbors from our party posted a review about the campground and needless to say the owner didn’t like it … WHILE WE WERE PACKING HE STORMED IN SCREAMING THAT THEY HAVE 24 hours TO REMOVE THE REVIEW OR HE WILL BAN EVERYONE IN OUR PARTY FROM ALL CAMPINGS IN New Jersey FOREVER !!! The review was nothing more than just honest opinion due to similar reasons below . The threat that he will ban everyone from all campings was unwarranted and made us understand why this site has mostly great reviews because people are afraid of him and his staff . And now my honest opinion - If you're planning to bring your kids to this campsite, think twice! The lack of activities or entertainment for children is surprising . My kids were bored out of their minds. Very small playground , the fishing pond also very small , another pond advertised is pretty much non existent can’t even sit by it to enjoy some nature , there were couple concerts at night but directed towards the adults. Everything at the store was pricey .Very hilly and very tiring for smaller kids while walking up and down hills , Beware of BEARS do not let Your kids out in the morning other campers said they have seen bears on multiple occasions it’s a standard there , bring spray for ticks plenty or those as well . Highly recommending changing your reservation to right across the “street” to Panther Lakes very friendly atmosphere lots of activities .STAY AWAY FROM NOT SO GREAT Divide IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO BE THREATENED AND TREATED LIKE GARBAGE . Wish I was fast enough to take a video of owner yelling because it was extremely unacceptable and scary for the kids that started crying when he left .
