This farm and the people are amazing!!! We have backyard chickens, the flock we have now were hatched in March of ‘22, they started laying in late July and then in September/October they stopped laying. Our family did everything we could to try to keep them happy and healthy and still no eggs. Two weeks ago I called and spent well over 20 minutes on the phone with a lovely gentleman who took the time to go over their habits, eating, lighting and care, without judgement, just a wealth of knowledge. I drove the hour that day to get their homemade chicken feed, we also purchased bedding and mealworms. My children got to see the cows and the sheep, and we talked to two very nice women while we were there as well. They told us about the orchard and activities they have during the year. It was an amazing and worthwhile trip. And to top it off, We followed his directions and now not even two weeks later…EGGS!!!! Thank you so much Brodhecker Farms! You have made a customer for life!

This is a great farm for purchasing various items, but their feed in particular is amazing. We have tried using tractor supply brands and our hens will stop laying eggs almost immediately. We have also bought pullets from them and they are all healthy and great layers. I can’t recommend using any other feed that isn’t Brodecker! They know what they’re doing.

Spoke with Phil on the phone about getting some chickens for our mini farm / new hobby . Told us a lot of information and tips. Was super helpful . We took the trip to the farm and it was all positive . Haley helped us pick the right chicken . She was very knowledgeable and they had many types . Going forward will be going here to get our chickens

Went here on August 25th. Lots of sunflowers blooming. The field was huge so there were lots of spaces for visitors. Ample parking available. Admissions were $10/ car

What an amazing farm. Cannot thank Phil and Malcolm enough. I went with my mom and my 4 kids, we all picked out an egg laying hen each. Malcolm was so sweet and very informative. Lots of great help and advice. I'll be back in a month or so to buy more chicken feed and maybe two more chickens!Hands down a really awesome experience and lovely hens!Thank you for making our day. We are excited to be backyard chicken owners :)

Be VERY. Careful if you're trying to see the sunflowers. Online says peak time is the first two weeks of July and I've tried two separate farms in that time. Nothing. Not even small yellow blooms. I came to the newton farm because just a week ago a friend said they were bloomed. When I went they were completely withered. Wasted an hour drive. By my experiences, good times to go are the first two weeks of August, not before and not after. Disappointed.

Wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Watch the day lazily pass over as you spend hours on sunflowers and corn. The place oozes of hospitality - you encounter the nicest folks as you explore the large expanse of land.

Well, I just proposed to my girlfriend here. It was a little late in the season but it really did the trick, and then some. She said yes. Anyway, the farm was so open with letting people drive up and explore the sun flowers, and the sunflowers go back so far, almost as far as the eyes can see, the background is hilly, and gorgeous. I wouldn't have done this any other way. Thanks Brodhecker Farm! We'll be back soon!

Our chickens are so much healthier on their feed. Tractor supply uses corn chaff and other fillers with no nutrition. Compare the labels. Same price and much more nutrient rich.
