I saw the same terrible behavior on March 12th around 3:20 pm on South Street. A tall middle-aged man not only choked a yellow lab but also smacked the dog in the face. The dog had only been slightly distracted by another dog nearby. When he hit the dog I heard other people around me on the street gasp. I spoke out to the man, saying that this kind of treatment was not right. He was very rude and told me I did not know anything about their training techniques. I said that may be so but I do know cruelty when I see it. I told him I would report it and he said go ahead. I did call Seeing Eye and spoke with the training manager who said he would speak to the man about the incident. I certainly hope we will not see more of these “training techniques” on our streets and a lot more respect for these service dogs who give so much.

I have no experience with them as a company, but I watched them training in public and they were using collars that tighten. I have no issue with those collars if used correctly, but one dog was laying down and they pulled it up by the collar. Another was coughing and gagging due to the pulling. The one trainer who gagged a dog grabbed the dog by its head very roughly and was scolding it.Again, no other knowledge of this company, but it was just worrying to watch.

This is the best place to get a guide dog. Their expertise and dedication have changed my life. The experience is great and everyone is kind, caring, and friendly. The Seeing Eye is literally the best organization.

Trying desperately to get in touch with the puppy co-ordinator in my area. 3 phone calls. 1 to a cell, 1 to Facility & one to campus. We lost our dear Sirius ( from them). It will be 2 years in April. My life is extremely disfunctional without him. Being a frontline worker at the nearby hospital makes my cry for a pup even more distressful.I attempted to channel that energy into a local group raising pups for PTSD Soldiers. Then it finally came to the forefront of a conversation that I was heavily involved with covid patients, THEY SLAMMED THE DOIR IN MY FACE & asked me NOT to return. Despite ALL THE PRECAUTIONS I MUST TAKE.

My husband and I support a number of charitable organizations every year. We chose The Seeing Eye because of their noble cause. When we visited the facility and learned about the process by which they match owner and guide dog, we understood the breadth and scope of the service they offer to humanity. Freedom and self-reliance are the gifts this institution provides to the sight-impaired population. The Seeing Eye is an everyday miracle. We are honored to help them achieve their goals.

I want to appreciate some staff members of the Seeing eye whose names I don’t know. My niece had a bike accident on Washington street. The other woman involved walked away. 4 staff members stayed with her provided aid and comfort till I could make it there. One even took the bike to my home while I rushed off to the hospital. My niece is doing great. No permanent injury.I pray Gods blessings on you and your organization. Thank you!,!

Attended a luncheon recently. We had the wonderful experience of learning how these wonderful people train these dogs to be guide dogs. You appreciate your health when you see these intelligent dogs guide those with impaired vision. This is an extraordinary facility!!

Organization does amazing work providing visually impaired people with service dogs that change their lives by increasing their independence and dignity. Also provides an opportunity for people to volunteer in a meaningful way by raising puppies for the program.

What can I say? I've been a volunteer for 12+ years and have never once been disappointed in the staff, volunteers, or the way they spend their money. Professional, courteous, and welcoming. If you have a chance, visit, donate, volunteer!
