I usually only go to Stop & Shop because it's the closest to where I live, but, I do not do all my shopping there. Everything is too expensive and I believe the reason for the price gauging is because there are at least 6 senior, 55+ communities and many times, seniors do not travel on Rt. 130 to go to Shop Rite. I only run there to pick up a few necessary items. It's such a shame that their prices are too high, because they are a very lovely store.

Went to this store this morning 04/14/24 at 7 AM as I normally do on Sunday AM. 7AM is their opening time. I approached the registers at 7:30 after shopping so I could check out, and no registers were open. No lights on and every one had the "Closed" sign on the belt. The only choice were the self-checkout registers which I dread, but I wanted to get out of there.Each time I scanned an item, the system prevented me from scanning anything else with the message "place your item in the bagging area". I was following directions closely and I am comfortable with computers and computer systems that work.The attendant came the first time to fix it, then she moved to the little desk in the bagging area and stared at me the 2nd time, so I left. I normally use the normal cashier lanes, but there was no one there today. The employees and the store are too lackadaisical about customer service.

The locals know this store as "Stop and Crash" This is because it serves an elderly population (I am one of them) and the driving in the parking lot is somewhat less than ideal.We found the prices fair and the place clean. We did manage to find things on the shelf that were expired, but when we pointed it out to the staff, they handled it right away.I don't think they have a butcher on site. The very small meats selection was very limited and there was no one working in that area.There is another Stop and Shop on route 18 which seems to have a much better selection of all merchandise and fresher produce.

I’d give it 0 if I could. My mom is a senior and this is the closest grocery store to her house. Know I understand why she dreads going to the grocery. There’s 2 cash registers open and the rest self service. They have a bunch of employees just standing there watching me and the other 50 customers waiting. The self serve robots stop and ask for assistance almost every other scan causing the lines and wait to be even longer. It would be so much faster if they had those employees just jump on one of the 10 closed register lines.

WORST sheet cake I have ever seen. Had this ordered ahead of time and I’m embarrassed to serve it. Completely lopsided. Now scrambling to look for somewhere with another cake. They should be ashamed for selling cakes that look like this.

Stop & Shop supermarket reminds me of the small town neighborhood store. You know that store, you can get all your fresh coconut, Soursops, plantains, sweet, ripe fruits that only seen in the tropics..... Grocery store quite pricy then again according to the elderly local said with a smile "welcome to Jersey everything is a pricy", lol. There are some bargain...You just have to keep looking.

These photos are from earlier this evening. This store always sells expired food. One the photos even shows cheese with mold forming in it. The prices are very expensive here to begin with. This store also has other problems such as customer service issues as previously reported by other customers in the reviews here. This is by far the worst Stop and Shop that I have come across in this state.

This is the only store I go grocery shopping at with my two kids, since i moved to the area. I love the supermarket and wouldn't go anywhere else. 7 minutes from my house

Always check your curb side pickup. Always a bag forgotten. If you go inside there is only 2 registers open and you have to scan everything yourself which is hard for people who cannot lift heavy items like the water bottle packs. Also very expensive place overall and no fresh food bars like at Wegmans.

I really like it. The Deli department was good. Sliced my colors perfectly. Love the fresh rolls. Always get some eventhough I think they're over priced. The Customer Service department was very accommodating. I will always shop there when I'm in the area

This is a neighborhood supermarket mainly for senior citizens, which is a terrible feeling; most prices are more expensive than those in Manhattan! A lot of the food felt stale! I hope a new supermarket will be born nearby! I wish this supermarket will close down soon!

To say this establishment is overpriced would be a compliment. Being a younger family residing in a predominantly older area, I can see that Stop & Shop unethically inflates their prices due to the convenience of proximity to the older communities. Very seldom are their sales that truly are for the consumer. Instead, when items get placed “on sale” it is due to the expiration date quickly approaching. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but these sales aren’t offering much of a discount. It is truly sad to see an establishment so driven on its revenue instead of serving the community. People are suffering across the bird due to the horrendous administration that is currently ruining the country; we the people need to look out for one another. Hopefully a member of cooperate will see this review and take what I am saying into consideration. Lower your prices - lower your GP% in order to serve the people on your community. There is no reason to tack on 150-200% to products. It isn’t as if you’re paying your templates $100K/year.

Very convenient. Surprisingly fairly priced for most products considering today's insanity. Berries were good. Precut options were extremely limited. The precut Salami was discolored and baggie was wet inside. Gave it to the cashier once i saw it. Lines were very long. Staff very nice.

They have a great collection of fresh fruits that are nice n clean & not rotten or bad. The store smells nice and it was clean.They have bakery section, fresh food, deli, Italian salads & other departmental stuff. I’d love if they had cakes too. Other than that, i love coming here for quick pickups.They have curbside pickup and it’s always accurate.

Hi, I hate to say this because we live in the area but this is one of the worst supermarkets we have ever shopped in. Prices are high because I think they are taking advantage of the Senior community. There is always a line as they do not have enough registers open. The staff is no help at all. When you ask them if they can open another register they respond, that is all we have. We go to Shop Rite which is twice as busy and they get you out of the store in no time. We avoid this store at all cost and will continue to do so until they fix the problem. Most of the people in our community feel the same way.Tony

On January 26th, 2023 we went shopping here at the Stop n Shop in Monroe Township, NJ. 08831 we spent over $300 dollars and we lost our receipt. We call and we was direct to the store clerk Danielle, we conversed with her on several occasions where she called us back several times to obtain more information, in the end Danielle was able to find our receipt in the store system. We cannot thank her enough for delivering the above and beyond exceptional customer service hands down and an example I wish all stores customer service would follow!!!! We will always shop at Monroe Township Stop and Shop because of service like this. Thank you Danielle you deserve a “Promotion”!!!!

If I could give a negative star I would customer care for help service is extremely rude and racist old caucasian lady with white hair medium heavyset build they really should do better with how they address customers of color just because you’re brown doesn’t mean you’re broke I am really disappointed in this location. ONE OF THE WORST SUPERMARKETS IN THE AREA!!!!!I have been reluctant to write a review about this place but it has been a lot issues over the course of several years.I would like to preface that I don’t want to hear a response back that all these issues are due to COVID, as I have gone to other supermarkets and they don’t have the same issues.No matter when you go to this supermarket, you will encounter a shortage of basic necessities. Within the past 2 months, there have been three times that they didn’t have milk.The prices are higher than other local supermarkets and it seems like this place takes advantage of the seniors because there are no other local supermarkets.The selection of specific items is limited in comparison to Shop Rite, wegmans and other supermarkets.When you walk into the supermarket, it has an awful smell, specifically the freezer section.Going to the deli section is like going to an amusement park when a rollercoaster is closed. You wait forever because of how slow the workers are.Changes need to be made to this place to get it to par with other local supermarkets

First off I know my username looks like a joke but it’s really not it’s my actual user. Anyway I would like to talk about the service I received today here. I went in to go grocery shopping.. A nice young man in the parking lot was coming in at the same time to clock in. I looked over at him and he looked very upset so naturally I asked him what was wrong and he said that he had work the night before and was horribly treated by the managers when he asked to have the next day off because he felt sick he said the managers yelled at him and told him that if he took the next day off he would not be allowed to return. When I even saw him he looked a little bit sick how is that going for the store. He advised me that I really should not be coming here because of how horrible and rude the staff is and the managers. He said that he would be quitting very soon he was still working here because he needed money and because he’s a high school student that summer is coming up and he needed money . I felt so horrible for this kid but that didn’t even top off how bad my service was here. When I was shopping a lady kept following me around a worker kind of short curly hair had a mask on. I started noticing this but didn’t say nothing because I could have just been over exaggerating.. I wasn’t and eventually when I noticed her I asked her was something wrong and she absolutely said nothing and walked away. At this point I am so mad I’m ready to leave when I go to the cashier the cashier looks at me and tells me they’re closed when their light was still on so I told them your light is still on. Cashier looked at me and shut it off as she was looking at me and said well now I’m closed and they go find another lane. I left my shopping cart right there and went to Walmart absolutely not well I go here ever again….

Definitely not as good as they use to be. The beef quality and selection is awful. Just went recently and 3/4 of the case of coffee creamers, almond milk, and half & half we're completely out. The lines are also so long at peak times, yet many registers are empty. Not sure what's going on with my stop n shop, the only reason I still go at this point is, convenience.

I’ll give it one star for convenience. The store is way over priced. The shelves are always half empty. The selection is extremely limited. Many times I get home to find what I had purchased was already expired. Not going back. I’ll head over to ShopRite. It’s worth the drive.

I cannot speak about the store as a whole. This place is new to me and I am still getting to know it. Today was my second visit and my purpose was to get fruits, milk, yogurt and pastry. Like it is with every other place one has to examine the fruits and vegetables on display very carefully, as well as the price tags, especially the sale items tags. So far I had very good black berries and red raspberries.They were full of flavor and a good price @ 2 6oz packs for $4.99 or 1 12oz pack for $2.99. Best of all was the fact that they remained firm for about 4 days. Today the price was different 3 6oz for$10 or 1 12oz for $5.99. I also bought ripe bananas for 49 cents per pound and they were sweet. I bought avocados at $1.25 each. They were very creamy and full of flavor. They were picked when they were mature as they did not have any strings as younger fruit do. The pastries, milk and yogurt are comparable in price and variety to those of any other Stop and Shop outlet that I have visited but the store is huge. I need to visit it a few more times to understand it. The staff I have encountered appeared to be knowledgeable and happy to assist me(deli, produce, checkout). There is ample space in the aisles for two shopping carts to move freely in opposite directions. I have to go back a few more times and learn some more about the store.

Great variety. Easy to get lost. Bakery, produce and butcher all seem above average. Better selection in general than I'm used to. However, checkout clerk managed somehow to include an item I had not selected - and tried including a second item also (I missed the first until I got home). That has not happened to me ever.

If there was a negative star I would have picked it. Had to bag 🎒 groceries 2 times because you can't place bag on self check out machine. Must place items on red circle 🔴 check out then bag all groceries again. My ice cream was soft by time I got home.
