Raptor Trust is a non profit rehabilitation facility for predatory birds as well as more common non predatory birds. I have known of this place for nearly 30 years and the exemplary work they do. The facility has a self guided walking tour of 20 or so raptors in various stages of rehabilitation as well as a learning center. If your looking for a great learning and appreciation day, this is the place to go in the Great Swamp of Morristown NJ on White bridge road.

If you love birds of prey and raptors this is a must visit. If you don't, you should still come, most of them are in cages. Clean facility with easy walking trails. Shaded. Lots of hawks, eagles, vultures, and owls easily viewed. They all look well cared for. This is a raptor rescue, for injured animals. They were bringing in a vulture while I was there. Visit and donate to help support this great organization.

Great place to walk around and see birds up close. Some were just about to have feeding time. Loved the barred owls and raven. Free admission. Kids a bit loud. Clean bathrooms. Small parking lot.

Can't say enough about the staff at this place. I appreciate their mission and love of birds so much. They took a baby pigeon with a broken foot off of my hands as I did not know how to care for him and the rehabilitated birds they have in the displays are gorgeous ❤️.

This was my second time visiting Raptors Trust. We walked around by the enclosures. We got a kick out of the barred owls...one was hooting and felt like he was interactive :)The golden eagle is so large and just striking! It is great that these birds are being taken care of...We also went to the store. I bought an owl themed coaster and a fridge magnet. All in all it was a fun and educational experience to visit..

Brilliant not for profit. Great work they do. Last year alone they rehabilated 2400+ raptors n released them. Must visit for people of all ages. Must visit for parents with kids to teach about raptors and potential harm we bring to them.

Good organization with a very good mission I stopped in and looked at all the birds this morning and it was a nice experience well it was sort of sad that their cages weren't bigger so they could fly they all did look well taken care of. It's free to walk around but definitely do donate because they receive no funding from the government to do what they do

So many wonderful winged creatures here. Mostly injuries that prevent return to the wild... however they do rehabilitation for those birds that can go back. Nice gift shop for the bird lover in your life too! The enclosures are big and clean and I love learning something new about a bird of prey every time I visit. Plan to spend about an hour walking through to see all the birds they have. Don't forget to leave a donation in the box at the main entrance. (There is no admission fee to enter)... The pathways through the center are flat and mostly crushed stone or pebbles. It's about a 100 yard walk from parking lot to the center.

I really liked it, and though it wasn't huge, it was well set up. The birds were obviously well taken care of,and it was clean. The gift ship was small but had a decent selection of stuff for sale to support the raptor trust

I think it's wonderful that there is an opportunity for wild birds to be rehabilitated and returned back to natureI don't think the birds are happy. they look very depressed and quite miserable. they're in very small cages with fake Christmas trees. it's absolutely ridiculous.I understand the desire to save a creature, but if the creature is not able to return to its natural habitat, it should not be kept in a cage for the rest of its life you have to think about what comes naturally to these predatory birds and sitting on a man-made perch all day, everyday is just not what God intended. and then to make matters worse. the animals are surrounded by a forest so they can see it. they just can't get to it. I fully understand some of these animals would perish in the wild, but that is the cycle of life. we can't change that.our hearts broke for these poor animals. when the eagle outstretched its wing, it literally was making the most horrendous sound. I truly think the bird is in painI thank everyone who works there because I know they're coming from a good place but I just don't think the animals deserve this caged life.

I have been coming to TRT for about 10 years now, ever since I dropped off an injured bird, which they rehabilitated and set free (they even updated me on its progress and when they set it free). I thoroughly enjoy my experience every time I go. The animals are well taken care of, their habitats are always clean, and there are informational plaques next to every bird. It's a great place to take children to learn as well, as they have just updated their Education Center. The gift shop is adorable. Although I have never taken a guided tour, I overheard one a few weeks ago and the guide was extremely information and friendly. Recently, I dealt with an employee, Kristi, for an online gift shop purchase, who went above and beyond to ensure my questions were answered. Great employees, great birds, great place to visit. I HIGHLY recommend!!

This is a wonderful organization helping the injured birds of NJ. The area for viewing birds is small, but impactful and free. It will require some walking on a gravel path, but it is nicely shaded, and short. Signs ask that people keep their voices down and keep children with them so as not to disturb the healing birds. It may not be the best place for rambunctious children, but if you can keep them calm for even 15 minutes they will have a chance to see bald eagles, falcons and owls up close. There is a small, but nicely stocked gift shop. It is located beside the Great Swamp National nature preserve, and very near the Lord Stirling ecological center which is also free. Together they make for a great day.I posted a photo of the visitor's entrance because Google maps led us to the actual building for the bird rehab, but not to the visitor's parking lot.

Outstanding facility with welcoming and informative staff. Our visit lasted probably 90 minutes, stopping at each of the bird homes. The Raptor Trust rehabilitates birds and provides a comfortable home. During our trip, we saw an assortment of eagles, falcons, and owls. Facilities are on-site and ADA-accessible, parking was plentiful in an crushed-stone lot, and walking trails/benches were clear of clutter. This was an awesome stop while we were in the area. Definitely recommend!

We love wandering thru the exhibits & visiting the resident birds (the turkey vultures are a personal favorite).I always bring items to donate so if you plan on visiting, check their wishlist to see if there's something you can drop off, too.

This is a really underrated place in New Jersey that is a real gem. The drive itself to the place is amazing with large green trees on both sides of the road. There are many many majestic raptors that are very well taken care of here. The couple of volunteers we met really cared about the birds. Seeing a bald eagle, hawk and all the owls up close is an experience that you should not miss. And best of all, they don't charge any fee! Do not miss this place.

I have been here several times with birds that I have rescued from the street and I must say the staff is very nice and seems to be very compassionate towards these beautiful creatures. I only wish that there were more like them around the area where I live

Great place if you enjoy birds. It's not that big, and you probably won't need a stroller, leave it in the car. My lil one loved it.

Bird rescue center featuring many "permanent" raptor residents, each with their own spacious enclosures. Hawks, (bald) eagles, kestrel, owls & more, viewed from (reasonably) up close. Binoculars can enhance your viewing experience. Birds intended from release are not on display.

I total gem. You would never go down the dirt road unless you knew where you were going. They rely on donations because they are not state funded. Such a great time, I've been coming here since I was a child. Everyone who works there are so pleasant and informative, definitely a worth while adventure.

I have taken many a sick or injured bird to the Raptor trust over the years and to my knowledge, they are one of the very Few (if any) wild bird rehabilitation centers in the state or this region of the country. They are unique as they will NEVER turn away someone bringing an injured bird for treatment. They even have boxes with warmers for birds to be left during non-business hours in the event of an emergency. Once you have a bird with them, you are issued a number that you can followup with online to see the progress of the bird. At the site are many Raptors, including a bald eagle with an injured wing and many other spectacular birds including a snowy owl, barred owl, several different beautiful hawks, kestrals and others. This is a wonderful place to EDUCATE YOUR KIDS about these magnificent creatures. They also have a lovely little gift shop with stuffed animal birds, puzzles and shirts. Make it a day!!! Well worth your time!

Great place to stop by so you can look at the birds they currently have. Completely free. They have a bird infirmary here for rehabilitating sick or injured birds.

A wonderful non-profit that rehabilitates injured raptors and other birds. This was my first time visiting, and I really enjoyed my hour there. You can see their "permanent guests" (birds that cannot be rehabilitated to return to the wild), including many magnificent eagles, hawks, and owls.We went during "family day" and were able to see "Penny," a screech owl, close up and outside her cage.

An amazing place to see a wide variety of raptors. Eagle, hawks, falcon's, vultures and one very sly raven. Reservations are absolutely required. It is well worth your time in the trip.
