We are so happy we found the Maywood Veterinary Clinic. The staff are all amazing, professional, kind, and caring. Our dog and cat love it there and are boarded there during our vacations. They come home happy and healthy.

Dr Natalia is great. She is knowledgable, experienced and takes time to get to the bottom of issues . She always explains and communicates well with pet parent. And as a bonus she is bilingual ( we can speak Polish). I had two cats taken care of at the clinic and was very pleased. I only wish the vet fees were little lower.

I have been coming here for over 20 years initially seeing Dr. Buchholtz exclusively but since ownership has changed hands, I have seen different doctors there and love them all. I still see Dr. B there from time to time but all the doctors are great! They are thorough, knowledgeable, and accommodating!

MVC is a wonderful place they remove the stress of having to take your pet to a place they don't want to be. The prices for the works are very reasonable. The Doctors and staff are completely professional. 10 Stars in my book.

I love this practice! Dr Buchholz is my favorite!! He is the best; he provides the best care for my dogs! He is very personable, caring, and honest! He makes you feel like you are a friend, and you are putting your best friend on the best hands! I would not go anywhere else because of him and his wonderful staff!!

Dr. Bucholz was so kind and gentle with my sick puppy. Upon meeting him for the first time I felt super comfortable and confident . He was very knowledgeable and helped make sure my 10 week old mini goldendoodle would be feeling better in no time. I loved how they checked in the following day to make sure he was doing ok. Looking forward to many more happy and healthy years here.

My friend has worked here as a technician for many years. I got a puppy during Covid and for some reason didn’t ask for recommendations. I went somewhere else and I was not impressed and then I asked Stephanie, (who is a long time vet tech at Maywood Veterinary and a friend of mine since kindergarten), for her advice. She told me all her animals are under the care of Maywood and have been for years.I have only been to the office a few times and I have been impressed by the staff at every visit. I saw Dr Curtis for a second opinion; I believed my dog had been spayed incorrectly elsewhere and was still in heat. After examination and bloodwork, Dr Curtis confirmed that I was correct.I have honestly enjoyed every tech visit I have had with Lacey. The techs I have seen have all been exceptionally professional, caring and extremely efficient! Please let them know they are doing great at helping keep the owners and the pets relaxed and welcomed during the visits!

Have had good experiences here in the past, however the last time I went I was left very disappointed with their practice, lack of experience with exotic animals and price transparency. I took in my exotic animal (Guinea pig) & felt as I knew more than the doctor in the room. Was up-sold with multiple shots, X-rays and medicine and was never told pricing. An ethical practice should at-least warn the client if the bill is racking up. I left paying almost $700 with no knowledge on what was actually happening to my pet, and no solution. After I got home and saw my receipt, I realized they had performed additional angles of X-rays that I had never approved nor had been asked about. Overall very unsatisfied and frustrated with my experience and will not be bringing my pet back to this vet. I have done similar procedures at other vets and have not paid more than $200-$300 with X-rays, shots, and medicine. I called the front desk for additional questions regarding my visit & was given one word answers. Lastly, it felt like because my pet was a small critter, she was not taken as seriously as if she were a bigger more conventional pet. At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter what kind of animal walks into a vet, they should all be treated equally. They are someone’s most treasured, dearest companions. I do have to say there’s one girl there that always treats my guineapig amazingly & she’s super sweet & helpful every time. I wish I had her name, but she’s the only person there I felt that actually cared about her recovery.

The people are nice, but I’ve never been to a vet in my life where they try to “upsell you” so hard! We got a puppy and just in vaccines; they said we have to re-do them all. We are already closed to $700 in vaccines alone. And they wanted to automatically add some vaccines that they were not necessary which made my last conversation very uncomfortable.

The Maywood Veterinary Clinic is all it should be! The staff is completely competent and friendly, and the vets and assistants are great, compassionate and not out to squeeze every penny out of you, but make sure you understand what it is your pet needs and what the options are. Thank you!

I couldn’t be more delighted with Maywood Veterinarian Clinic, finally a Proper Diagnoses, amazing staff and service!!!Be prudent with who you use as a Veterinarian in Edgewater. We have spent the last year bringing our cat to various Edgewater animal hospitals.- Dr. Friedman our former 25 year veterinarian doctor is sadly no longer practicing in Edgewater.What I paid to have a Hazelnut size polyp removed from my cat’s Nasal/Throat passage cost far less than the multiple appointments that wrongly diagnosed our cat with an upper respiratory issue on four separate occasions.-Dr Jay Buchholz was able to immediately diagnosis and scheduled surgery for Harry at Maywood Veterinary Clinic.

Had all 3 dogs teeth cleaned. And for the Dr Pimple Popper Fans, Studley had a bump removed from the top of his head with a speedy recovery. Maywood Vet does Amazing work. Everyone at Maywood Vet is so helpful with all our dogs.. especially Studley with his diabetes. I'm still struggling giving him his insulin injections. When he gives me a hard time giving the injection they let me go directly to their office & help me to succeed in giving that shot. I can't thank them all enough.

Dr. Buchholz and the staff at Maywood Veterinary Clinic are the absolute best. My fur baby Abigail, pictured below, recently had a grade 2 dental cleaning done by Dr. Buchholz and his team on July 29, 2022. They did a thorough pre-operative examination on Monday July24,2022, where they did a full blood panel and EKG. Once the results came in on Wednesday, Dr. Buchholz took the time to call me to review the tests and the modifications of the anesthetic procedure, since Abigail has CKD stage 2. Dr. Buchholz was very patient in answering all my questions and concerns, to ensure me that Abigail was healthy enough to have a safe procedure. The day of Abigail’s dental procedure went smoothly without any complications. Thank you to Dr. Buchholz and his team for doing an excellent job on Abigail’s procedure, via the safest practices for her condition. Below she is happy, healthy, and functioning well a week and a half later. If anyone needs any dental procedures performed for their pet or general veterinary care , Dr. Buchholz is the absolute best. I have been taking Abigail to Dr. Buchholz’s practice, since I adopted her in 2011 and she always receives proper care.

Maywood Clinic is a clean place, great friendly staff with excellent customer service. They're very transparent and honest with the services they offer.I have never waited more than an hour when I bring my dog! The staff and the doctors have always treated my dog with love, compassion and respect!The hours are great and if you can't make it to your appointment, the staff will accomodate you! 10 STARS!!!
