Yum!! Spring is almost here and we stopped by Sundaes for delicious ice cream. Lots to choose from! I had a small Salty Sea Captain Sundae which was generous with lots of hot fudge and Geoff had a scoop of Brownie’s Irish Cream. This was our second time there, again, delicious. Lots of kids. There is plenty of parking. The ice cream shop is accessible. There are plenty of benches outside, but this is mostly a take out. If you’re looking for ice cream cakes, they have many!

We are in town for the week, and some of the other places in town close by 9PM, but this was open and buuuuuussssyyy. The line moved quickly and the ice cream was great. They do more than just scoop and serve, with pre packaged treats and cakes. We really enjoyed it!

Sundaes ice cream is mostly okay but I think the underwhelming, poorly trained staff don't make it worthwhile to spend hard-earned money here. Giving three stars overall and leaving it at that, because I won't disparage the young kids who wait on customers. A word of caution for those with a peanut allergy or any nut allergy -- you ought to seriously consider going elsewhere because there is NO attention to detail, NO attention to cleanliness, NO attention to the topping bar, and NO concern for cross-contamination of peanut products.

Out of all the Sundaes locations this one is our favorite. Service is always great and the ice cream is unbeatable. I would recommend Chocolate Peanut-butter Crunch but my dog would recommend sugar free vanilla.

Went here because of a late night suggestion, and it was the best choice we could have made! The staff were friendly and patient while we tried multiple flavors even though it was close to closing time, and were even nice when asked about competing ice cream shops nearby. Additionally, they recited the ingredients of every incredibly unique flavor when asked. My friend got the Oreo and the devil food cake flavors and I got the Robert Brownie Jr, and we both swear it may have been the best ice cream we have ever had. The variety of toppings put every other local place to shame, and the unique flavors make this a must visit place. On top of that, it’s homemade ice cream so what’s not to love! We will be back! :)

Sundaes The Ice Cream Place makes really good homemade ice cream! This was the first time I’ve ever been to this location, but I’ve gone to their other location by me lots of times in Matawan. They are generous with portions, and they let you sample as well! My favorite flavors are the seasonal Pumpkin, Robert Brownie Jr., Ooey Gooey Oreo, and Peanut Butter Overload. The ice cream is nice and creamy! Definitely worth the stop and the calories!

Sundaes is the place to go for homemade ice cream! Fun flavors, like "Robert Brownie Jr" and "Dark Side of the Moon". Everything I've tried has been delicious and I keep coming back!

Hoffmans in Spring Lake is usually our stomping ground but it's always usually packed and we decided this time out to try someplace new for our ice cream craving.We found Sundaes to be a really nice surprise. We were there just after 5pm on a Saturday when you would expect the place to be mobbed, but we easily parked and didn't have to wait more than two minutes on line until someone helped us.Ice Cream has become increasingly expensive so I can understand the complaints I have read about price increases and smaller portions. It's happening everywhere. I don't know what the portions were like before, but I got a large soft-serve Sundae with hot fudge, whipped cream and peanut butter cups and it was pretty darn big and with that extra topping, around $10. As expensive as it is, it's on par with Hoffmans.Speaking of Hoffmans, I found the ice cream here to be just as good. There was also much more outdoor seating available -- something Hoffmans is severely lacking.Was very happy with the service. The girls behind the counter were working their tails off but remained friendly. I think we are going to come back here just because it's less crowded with more outdoor seating.Highly recommended!

Giving 4 stars only because of an ice cream cake we had tonight. It was mostly our fault for not realizing that the all vanilla ice cream had vanilla crunchies. We never heard of vanilla crunchies before. The layer of crunchies was very thick, and thicker in parts. A good 1/2 inch and more. For $27 for the smallest cake it was not worth what we paid. But again our fault for not understanding what we were buying. Normally we buy pints, quarts, or half gallons and the quality and value is excellent. Their cherry vanilla is the absolute best.

We have been going to Sundaes for 15 years. Recently, the portions have shrunk with higher prices. The ice cream is good, not great. Not worth the money any more.

Great place for a nice cold treat! We love the the soft serve vanilla and the many toppings to chooses from but there were no kid size containers. I would suggest this size because the small was too big and my child couldn’t eat it all fast enough so we threw out a lot of the ice cream.

So. many. health violations. They dont clean their scoops after each use, and are AWFUL to staff. I know people who have worked here and say the same thing. Do not eat here if you care about cleanliness.

The cups... PLEASE change the cups.I've been going here for years, the ice cream is fantastic. Service even better. But the new cups just simply have to go. Every time I order ice cream and they put it in a bag, the lids come off and the ice cream gets everywhere. I was willing to accept that they really seemed smaller than the previous cups (not 100% sure if they are), but now I can't even get ice cream to-go.I tried to find a contact email to share this feedback but couldn't. 5 stars with new cups.

I would rate this 6 stars if I could. They accept card here! And their ice cream is delicious. I saw they named an ice cream after my cousin and had to try it. I got the Robert Brownie Jr ice cream in a sundae it was tasty!
