surprising how much cute pet stuff is in this shop. From a wide variety of top-notch foods to lots of very unique deer and elk antler's chuy's. The dogs love the special treats.

On numerous visits the staff has ignored my dog. It leaves me with the feeling that they are missing the point. You can be knowledgeable about product, but weak on salesmanship, and it will ruin your bottom line. Am I wrong to expect a water dish with water in it for walk-in visitors, a treat offer to my canine companion, a little attention for my dog? He is the customer! He should like this place and want to come back. (side note: he loves the drive-thru at the bank - dog owners know what I mean.) I am giving this a 2 star rating because they don't seem to be pet-friendly, which is not what I expect from a small, local pet store. Even if the two young women stop talking to the young man in the store and pay us some attention, the man who worked there previously was far less friendly.

Customer service leaves much to be desired.Very expensive products.I do like using their 10.00 bathing area for dogs. It's a DIY groom center and for 10.00 soap, towels and a dryer are included. ( Shrewsbury location)

CONS:-very small and cramped-few things for small animals (but was still able to find sufficient pellets and hay for my rabbits)-a bit too priceyPROS:-very well stocked-a lot of variety for cats and dogs-location-self grooming w/low costNEUTRAL:-staff-cats kept in cages too small but are up for adoption as opposed to being soldWas not a bad experience but could've definitely been a better one. Biggest issues personally were the prices and how tight it is. Costs in general are too high but depending on what you're looking for, cost could be even more or a little less expensive. The tight spaces made me want to get out of there asap. It was also very hot- even for the cold weather. Lack of items for small animals could be a big problem for some but there SEEMED to be at least the bare minimum which is better than nothing. Coincidentally it also seemed to be of some of the most expensive items.I'll probably end up shopping there again, mostly for the convenience of location for me. I tend to do most of my grocery shopping at the shoprite that's in the same shopping center.

Love Pet Valu, the people are really nice, helpful, friendly. Love that there are kitties up for adoption. I have three so I just visit and pet the ones that are there by when I go.

Beautiful clean store, fully stocked with great stuff but overpriced. For these prices the staff should be a bit more knowledgeable and helpful. The Hungry Puppy is much better to shop at!
