Before booking our room I looked at the previous reviews and was thinking about searching elsewhere.Last minute reservations are a tough thing on Christmas day..To my surprise it's not anything like the others said except for the missing "Continental breakfast".Simple Coffee and doughnuts with some fruit.Big deal it's not because there's a McDonald's right next door.The room was spotless.Cable TV worked great with HBO Max etc...Shower with nice tub..Great hospitality from everyone there..And the lowest prices..Next time through this way I'm staying there for sure.So my vote is 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I stayed here for one night December 9th. Are the rooms worn? Yes. Does the property need some updating? Also yes. But everything is very clean and the staff super friendly, which is perfect for my needs. As long as you aren’t expecting luxury accommodations, and want something for relatively low cost, this place is for you.

The only reason I’m giving a 2 star review is because the receptionist was kind enough to give a refund after the experience my fiancé had (will update if needed). Though based on everything else it’s a 1 star..My fiancé travels full time for work and had just checked in this afternoon (12/9/2023) Upon going to bed for the evening, as soon as he laid down on the bed for the first time ever, he looked over and a bedbug was crawling towards him! He immediately recognized the type of bug it was and killed it. Advised him to pack everything back up and stay somewhere else. He checked in with the receptionist before leaving showing him the bedbug and was kind enough to give a refund (though was told it would take up to 30 business days, which is why I said would update if needed). Do not stay here unless you want to risk getting bedbugs in your belongings.

A quick overnight! It is what it is . The staff was great. The place was busy that too makes it satisfactory. Basic bed and TV. Sleep and go. And a quick coffee for the car. Needs updating and the 3rd floor corridor has an odor that need attention. Met the manager when I checked out. A very kind nice man. Told him about the odor he was well aware. Overall a decent stay!Rooms: Basic budget hotel tired decor but clean

The hotel was nice but not great. This might be considered a 1 star hotel. The staff were great, very friendly and helpful. The room was in need of repairs: the ceiling above the toilet was discolored from a leak, the rooms floor was needing replaced, and we had a cockroach come into the room. We also woke up one morning with 4 police cars in the back parking lot searching a guy and his car. The hotel is reasonably priced for the area and not a terrible place to stay if you know what to expect.

Location was convenient, but very sketchy. Did not feel safe walking dogs or going to and from the car. A lot of people were loitering around the parking lot.Kids loved the room because it had arcade games and bunk beds. We (adults) did not enjoy the room. There were lockers, but that was the only storage. No dressers or drawers or even shelves to store clothes and belongings. No closet. Toilet seat was only attached on one side. Shower handle was broken, and drain was finicky. The tub would fill while showering. There was a nice full size refrigerator and microwave. The sheets and pillowcases had black marks on them, and the blankets had holes, perhaps from cigarette burns. The room was infested with ants, and we saw many cockroaches. We returned one evening and could smell where bug spray had been used. The wifi was unusable. It was slow and spotty. There was a serious lack of usable plugs in the room. We had to utilize the bathroom plugs to charge phones and unplug the lamp to have an extra plug to access.

The room needs updating. Bad paint, old dirty carpets need to be removed. The room is dark and smells musty. The breakfast was not a breakfast at all. I wouldn't eat anything there. Green oranges are not my thing. Cereal bars have too much sugar. Sugary muffins with processed preservatives is not for me. The man at the front desk was very nice. I liked him. I liked the picture above the front desk. The location was good.

I booked a room here for just overnight to stop over on long drive back home from VA to northern NY. The staff that checked me in and out were very pleasant and courteous. The hotel was cleaner than the one I stayed in Fredericksburg VA prior to this stop. The beds were softer which was nice for me. It was quiet and I felt very safe with the extra lock on the door. I think other super 8 hotels should learn from this one.Rooms: The rooms are ones with doors inside hotel rather than just walking put the door to outside. The room was very cozy and felt more like a luxury hotel to me than the super 8 in VA that we stayed at prior. It was very clean as well.Safety: Felt very safe in this hotel. I always feel safer when the rooms are actually accessed inside the hotel from a hallway than accessing room from directly outside.Walkability: We were able to walk right next door to McDonald's for dinner and for breakfast in the morning.

I turned and showed the bites on my hands, they told me that I brought it myself. After I showed them the belly of the bug, no one spoke to me, they told me to wait for the morning (this happened at 10:30 p.m.) and for the manager. They refused to change the room, I couldn’t stay with bedbugs, it was a so-so adventure.

➕ Front desk staff was niceTLDR: do yourself a favor, save your money, and do NOT book here➖ The room REEKED of cigarette smoke, like someone had been chain smoking in there all day before we checked in. I tried fleeing to the bathroom to avoid the smell that was on the linens, but the bathtub was moldy and had hair in it and the toilet smelled like it hadn’t been cleaned. Couldn’t even stay the night, checked out a few hours after getting in. NOT what I wanted after being on the road all day. I’m at another hotel and the smell is still stuck in my nose. They don’t offer refunds after you check in and now we know why. It’s cheap, but not that much cheaper. Go somewhere else 🤮

I needed a room for a reunion weekend, and the Super 8 had the lowest price available, so I made my reservation. Then I read some quite negative reviews online, so arrived feeling a certain amount of trepidation. I needn't have worried. The room was basic, but comfortable and clean, with a TV, fridge and coffeemaker. There were a hairdryer, iron and ironing board available, plus soap and shampoo. The queen bed was made up with 3 smaller pillows which turned out to be very comfortable. Some hall noise was audible at times you'd expect people to be moving about, but nothing unusual or intrusive. The hotel is right on Rt.17S, and one arrives at the exit drive before the entrance, which seems backwards and can be a bit confusing. My room faced the rear of the building, so I never heard highway noise there. I never partook of the "grab-and-go" breakfast on offer, so can't comment on it. The desk clerk informed me when I checked in that coffee is always available there. The staff was generally pleasant.

If the hotel is considered as a cheap concept, it is considered good. location is in a good location. It has free parking. The number of staff is less. quiet and safe. but the price is a bit high for the concept. breakfast is continental and actually nothing. just a muffin and lousy coffee. The second day there was no cake and they gave a diet bar. they didn't even make an effort to find a cake. Beds are comfortable.

Genuinely the worst hotel experience I've ever had. While the room wasn't great, the staff was horrible and merits the one star. Seriously- I have never dealt with ruder staff in my entire life; they were rude, unprofessional, and undignified. After complaining about housekeeping trying to enter my room before checkout, the management decided to harass me by sending them into my room multiple times afterwards (all before checkout) just because I asked them not to, including when I was in the shower. Then, the manager called me a liar ("they never entered once, you just want a refund"), said he didn't have time to deal with guests (exact quote), and told me to leave. Apparently, the management at this location (Antoine Spurling) is allowed to be as rude as he wants as there is clearly no accountability for the manager to be nice or in any way accommodating. Upon reading more reviews and checking with the BBB, apparently I am the not the first guest to have housekeeping enter before checkout, nor am I the first person to deal with the horribly rude management. I am not picky- all I ask is that I am given my rightfully paid-for privacy until the time of checkout, and this location's management went above and beyond to be as rude and demeaning as possible. On top of that, the room was in rough condition, smelled offensive, had an extremely loud noise when the light was on, and did not have basic amenities like clean towels, soap, etc. I would recommend spending the extra $10 and staying anywhere else on NJ-17.

CHARGED ME BEFORE TELLING ME THEY SOLD MY ROOM. When arriving the desk told us they were just cleaning up our room and it would be ready soon. We left and went about our day. When we came back that night to check in, they ran our card THEN told us they SOLD OUR RESERVATION to someone else the day prior and gave us a room with beds that would not suit our needs. They refused to provide a room that would and refused to provide a refund since 'managers do not work on the weekends.' Monday came and my husband attempted to call and they would not take his calls. I called and once they heard why i was calling they would not answer the phone for me either. They were ALL rude and unprofessional. I asked for an email confirmation on the refund and i was spoken down to saying they 'have no email, what do I not understand.'

Very quiet and green area with some beautiful views. Front desk staff were polite. The room was huge, clean and cozy, the bed was very comfortable. They have bigscreen TV and nice cable. There is a coffee maker but no microwave or fridge in the room. And also they have breakfast.Overall good experience. Would recommend if you're looking for a inexpencive place to stay.

Horrible room toilet bowl making noise all night .shower head filthy in bathroom.cracked mirror in bathroom sink .air condition vents dirty . Rooms smell like cigarettes.musty smell also could not sleep all night ! I have the pictures to show the evidence !!Rooms: Not clean at all won’t come here again waiting on my reimbursement

Convenient location right on a major road. Room was decent and clean, though the beds were hard. Still, when they said it was a nonsmoking room, it actually was smoke-free (unlike at another Super 8 in CT that we stayed at on a different night, ugh), so I appreciate that. They also were kind enough to hold onto an item we had accidentally left behind until we could pick it up on our way back home several days later.

Sorry, but this location fell FAR below expectations. While the location was ideal, the actual property is terrible. When we pulled into the parking lot in front of the hotel, what appeared to be a homeless person in a wheelchair, was sunning himself in the middle of the driveway. He made no effort to move out of the way and I was forced to drive a precarious route around him. After checking in we parked around back, where there were additional individuals loitering around. When we walked our small puppy we discovered that the grassy area in the back was littered with empty alcohol bottles, trash, and there were even more people sitting around in the woods drinking and smoking. I don't know if these are long-term residents or just people hanging out, but it made us uncomfortable and concerned enough that I took the dog out and did not want my wife going out alone. Whatever the reason the whole experience was disconcerting. Finally, the bed was terrible and there was a big hole in the wall of the shower enclosure! This is not at all what we expect from the Super 8 brand. Bad stay, bad memories! We couldn't wait to get out of there and we were up and out the door by 0430.

This place has bad service, dirty sheets, stained bath towels and something that is truly impressive is that they don't put toilet paper! you have to go to the front desk to get it, and the worst thing is that they tell you there isn't any! what if you want napkins! 2 more clients had the same problem.It is truly a pity that they do not have toilet paper in a hotel that considers itself to have good service. We had to go buy toilet paper at the gas station that is near that place and they told us that the same thing had happened before.I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL!

Had a problem with the manager Anthony yesterday. He came to our room while my wife was partially naked and I was in the tub. He started with " Are you decent" and started berating us for leaving a bad review. I'll upload the video to the Google page. Used to like this hotel. This new guy, I don't know. Who keeps a picture of themselves in their office?

Walked in and the front of one of the drawers under the tv console was sitting on the floor leaning against the drawers. Nothing felt very clean in room or bathroom, long hair on one of the pillows. The lampshade between the beds accidentally got bumped and a ton of dust, etc. fell off-disgusting. They advertise a complimentary breakfast, which is actually located in the laundry area nook and was only granola bars and coffee/tea/juice. Yes, it could have been worse, but for its price it also should have been a LOT better.

Stood here for around 2 weeks. Great place to stay if you wanna do some hiking at the Ramapo Reservation. Just note, it’s a $25 charge per day if you bring your pet. Even then, it’s one of the cheaper pet friendly places in Bergen county. My dog had an injury early in our stay and got a lot of blood on our bed. The staff was very understanding and empathetic when we asked for new linens. He eventually needed surgery during our stay, had some complications and yet they had no problem with all the linens we needed to replace for our room. Room came with a fridge, and a shared microwave is on the first floor near the laundry. Breakfast consisted of pastries, coffee, and juice which was ok. The young front desk lady in the morning/afternoons was very pleasant and accommodating, wished I remembered her name!

I booked a room for 8/16-8/19 but my stay was cut short the first night. Right off the bat, our tv screen was broken. At 3amI was getting into bed and came across a bedbug. I went down to the desk to speak to the person at the desk and she pretty much said she couldn’t do anything about it. I came back into the room and continued to look and found more. I also came across blood stains and dead bedbugs. Unfortunately we didn’t have many options to book with another motel so we stayed until 7 am. I traveled from CT to stay here for a wedding, The lady working the desk that night told us we had to wait until Monday for a response from the manager. Since then we’ve called multiple times and haven’t gotten an answer. A complete nightmare.
