Love this place. Adopted our babies here in 2016. Two of them have sadly passed so our little girl needed a new companion. Made the hour drive and brought our new baby boy back home to PA to live in his forever home.

What a wonderful place! All rescues and shelters should strive to be like this place. I have adopted and dealt with many shelters and rescues over the years and this place is by far the best. Very clean, every staff member I talked to was extremely nice, you can tell their hearts are in it without the pretentious attitude some rescues have. Hassle free adoption process. They even have a gift shop! Just a word of warning about the cat rooms. Don’t try and go just to “look”. You may end up getting picked by someone and leaving with a new family member.

UPDATE: I returned to St. Hubert’s during an event and wound up adopting another cat, Miracle, shes a total lover and well behaved. Shes taking her time to adjust and get used to her surroundings. She hasn’t met the other cat yet, slowly but surely all is smooth. Due to the event it took 2 hours + to get an adoption counselor and once we did , about 30 more mins. Well worth it though. Miracle is eating, running around, doing all her kitty things since she is 19lbs the counselor gave us a months worth of supplements to start out with , which was nice of them.I fell in love with her photo. She is healthy, active, eating and seems so happy to be home. The facility is clean and welcoming. Animals seem to be taken care of pretty well. It was great to see so many animals going home! So many smiles everywhere. Our Jolyne completes our family !

St. Hubert’s is a sanctuary the facility is beautifully maintained, clean, and expansive. All staff I’ve interacted with are kind and friendly. We’ve taken two obedience classes and plan to attend more. The classes are well run with 6-8 dogs maximum. Excellent value and great experience for our young dog.

Recently adopted a dog from St. Huberts. From start to finish it was a great experience and we are very happy with our pup. The process of adoption is much less stressful than other places, but they also ensure you have all of the background info and any risks. Got to spend time with the pup without any pressure, and they offer support along the way. Great to have a shop onsite for any necessary supplies.

Such a clean place that goes above and beyond for the animals in their care. They were so easy to work with so we can give a forever home to our little kitten and provide a companion to our existing rescue cat. I highly recommend St Hubert's. If you're not in a position to adopt, at least donate to them.

I am a first time pet owner. This center has left me extremely frustrated and discouraged. I adopted my cat less than a month ago and I’ve already had to take her to a vet twice. I understand that I took full responsibility for her the day I left the shelter with her, but she has been diagnosed with things that could have and should have been detected by the shelter before I brought her home. There was never any mention of her health conditions the day I adopted her. Looking back, the adoption process felt more like a transaction than anything else and they seemed desperate to let her go. I’ve reached out several times to express my concerns and ask for guidance. I’ve received nothing.

We adopted our dog Daisy (then Gloria) from them last month and it was great. Like many rescue dogs from the south, ours was heartworm positive, which they informed us about up front, and administered treatment at their medical facility at no cost to us. While she was undergoing treatment, I had several questions and they always called me back right away with very helpful answers. The adoption process itself was very easy and overall a very happy and pleasant experience. The folks at Buddies were also extremely helpful in getting us set up with some essentials the day we took her home.

I have a cat and I wanted to foster other cats to help. I had a good experience in the process. The place is great, clean and they really care for the animals there. God bless everyone that works and volunteers there. Adopt an animal and donate too if you can. 🙏

Brought home a dog less than a week ago, did the 10 day foster. 7 days in we decided to adopt this amazing animal. Today (the 8th day) less than 24 hours from the payment we woke up to the dog hacking, sneezing and emitting yellow phlem. I called Huberts to see if maybe they’d take a look at the animal since we haven’t signed off on the formal adoption and his symptoms are mild, yet troubling. Instead of being welcome, I was met with the curt response of “Regardless of not signing the formal adoption papers, since you paid, the dog is your responsibility now, you’re going to need to find a local vet”.Do not buy your animals here, most of the dogs have heartworm or other underlying conditions not disclosed. Most of all, their staff should be ashamed of themselves letting their dogs sit in kennels filled with their own excrement.

St. Huberts is an animal shelter that is ran amazingly! The animals are kept in clean kennels, cages, living spaces, etc. You don't have to worry about whether or not animals are being treated inhumanely at this place! It makes me feel a lot better knowing that homeless animals are being taken such great care of. The staff is friendly and you can tell they care a lot about every resident. I recommend St. Huberts to anyone looking for their new pet.

Theyre one of the cleanest and kindest places I've been for a while. The staff are very helpful and the cat rooms are just the cutest. I love how much room the cats get and how dedicated the staff are 10/10

While I am very grateful for the help I needed surrendering my Corgis. Please be aware when you do this you are afforded no rights as to how your pet is doing with their new adopters. I have asked several times if they would give new adopters my phone or email in the event that they wanted to reach to no avail. As a heartbroken owner who had to surrender due to animals fighting I am left out of equation. I only wish these shelters would include person surrendering the same rights. My babies in happier times❤️. A one time update is hard. Perhaps you should consider changing your policies for heartbroken owners that have to give up their beloved pets.

I love, love this place. I adopted my little one from this place and he was just the most wonderful little guy I could ever ask for. They truly take care of the animals as seen with just how much devotion, compassion and attention administered to each individual pet. If you need to surrender your animal for whatever reason (life happens), then please consider this place also. They'll be kept in good hands until they find their forever home.

Took my cat and dog to get neutered and spayed from a free event in my neighborhood. My dog ended up with a really bad infection. St Hubert's was so helpful! Took care of my Rocko! Sent him to another place, but they couldn't do the surgery quickly, so they took him to a 2nd location. Omg, I mean text messaging phone calls throughout everything. Follow up texts and calls. So professional and helpful. Jennifer is awesome! I really appreciate her. My cat Lillie was fine through everything. She healed very well.

I have adopted several animals over the years from here. The animals are well taken care of, and the staff is both caring and informative. We were adopting a cat most recently. They have multiple rooms for the cats. Very classy. You could walk in, and the cats were out and about in the room. Very well thought out. I highly recommend.

The best place adopt or foster any animal. The staff is very nice and helpful any questions or concerns they get right back to you. I fostered a lovely 2 month old male terrier/mix puppy a joy to have in my home.

Fantastic location, staff are very kind and knowledgeable and partnered us with the perfect pet for our needs! We’re happy with our decision so far, and I’m personally a huge fan of the 7-day foster to adoption plan—it makes the decision a lot less stressful.

MY husband and I came across an outside young cat we named Boots. She was so sweet and would wait for us at our back door. We noticed her pregnant shortly there after. A few weeks later came her babies. We secured a spot for them with our local shelter if we could catch them, however they would not take her, as she was considered an adult. St. Hubert's Madison agreed to take her. Broke our hearts to bring her in, but knew she would be an amazing feline indoor child to someone. Unfortunately our cat we rescued with no claws living outdoors and is not friendly. Boots was very stressed at the kennel. Soon after her arrival, she went into foster and was thriving. She was there for months. Then what I understand there was a failed adoption because the other cat was not accepting and 3 days later she was returned. The foster home had a hospice foster cat, age 15 already there. Boots wanted to play and they did not. So back in the kennel. Hearts breaking. We went on a crusade digging deep to find her a home; social media, Facebook ads and even brought a potential adopter to meet her, but she wasn’t ready. So out of nowhere my mom said she would take her. I notified them immediately that morning. Unfortunately they got back to me that evening that she was just adopted that afternoon. I have no details and pray it was through our efforts. Hope she went to a amazing forever home...

Very good experience. Personable staff members. Clean. My daughter & I went to look at male dogs & it came down to 2 dogs. We decided to adopt a Cur Mountain hunting dog. Try to get there when they open. On the days when they have an event, it starts to get crowded. There is a wait time to see the animals. They also accept donations.

Was apart of the adoption event today! And I was able to find my fur baby “Buttons”, the staff was super helpful even though there were lots of people there today! We weren’t expecting to get a big dog, we originally figured we would end up with a beagle sized doggo but once we laid eyes on this beauty we simply couldn’t resist. I can’t believe someone returned her originally! As soon as we saw her walk back in the door I felt like she was meant to be mine. She is so extremely well behaved and loves people!Thank you for helping us find our fur baby, I think she’s happy to have found her furever home. Everybody meet Cleo 💕

We went to adopt a kitten for my mother. We were brought in and saw a few different cats to make sure we got one to fit our needs. We ended up falling in love with an Orange one named Mo. First off this place seems like it’s run more like a mill than a shelter they just want to push as many animals out as possible. They barely do any testing like no fecal and no fiv which to me is just bad practice you have a 50/50 chance. Our adopting agent left the room and was helping another family and I could hear her talking to another staff member saying she made a “deal” and is about to close on another one meaning us. I just felt like I was buying a house or a car and not adopting. Also $200 fee for kittens is very steep. At the end after the payment was already taken they decide to tell us that the previous family brought the cat back the same morning because it had diarrhea. So you’re telling me that this kitten was brought back you put it in a cage knowing it had issues and adopted it out again the same day? No one even asked do you still want it? We took him because he obviously deserved a better life than this establishment but it’s going to be a long road to recovery because of their negligence.

St. Hubert's Animal Welfare Center in Madison NJ is AWESOME! The staff was supremely helpful in helping us find somewhere for the stray pup we'd crossed paths with. "Cinnamon" as we'd found is a deaf Pit/Husky mix and unfortunately we just couldn't keep her. I know that she is in the best of hands at St. Hubert's as I've adopted from there many years earlier. The grounds have awesome facilities for the animals and the staff is kind and courteous. Keep up the great work St. H!

Got this guy back in October - he was very scared and a bit feral but I wanted to give him a home. Didn’t know if it was going to work out and he turned into such a mush! Super thankful for St Hubert’s cat trainer who called me and gave me advice on how to better adjust him. Meet Pumpkin 🎃

Not sure how I feel about the staff that works with volunteers - specifically those who take the dogs out for a day, but this shelter does a really great job of working with the general public, but more importantly, keeping animals in a safe and clean environment. I love the little shop they have, and the people who typically sit at the front desk are pretty friendly. Usually, they also have a rescue up front with them, and that's always nice to see/engage.
