Went there for years with our first Golden Retriever Gabriel. They encouraged neutering at 6 months which, at such an early age, has been linked to multiple issues later in their lives. We did so and he had a torn patella, acl surgery and died at 7 years from hemangiosarcoma, a tumor on his heart. There is more to the story and Long Valley Animal Hospital is not responsible for our pups DNA or the care that he received from subsequent vets but you need to be able to trust your vet to be up to date with the latest literature on animal health, especially when the decisions that you make have implications that will impact them later in life.

We have been so pleased with Long Valley Animal Hospital. Our 2 y/o Bichonpoo sees Dr. Lauren Semanchik who is so sweet! Our pup has anxiety and the office is very accommodating and understanding. Rarely do we ever have to wait or are we amongst other animals/patients. It is helpful to receive their reminders for when our pup is due for vaccines. We used to go to a big animal hospital from where we used to live, and we are way more pleased with the feel of this smaller animal hospital. Would highly recommend Dr. Lauren!

I recently moved to the area and am glad to have them so close to home. The love and care they show not only to your furbaby but also to you as a human is so refreshing. As someone who knows the severe hardships of working in the vet industry, compassion and empathy can sadly be hard to come by sometimes. Not here! Everyone here radiates with love and compassion and the care they give is exactly what a pet owner would want. Thank you for your hard work in such a hard industry!

During one of the most difficult times of our lives, we were met with complete compassion, love and professionalism at Long Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Earl received us without hesitation in an emergency and our darling Westie was put to rest with dignity and respect. The exceptional staff, particularly Danielle and Jane made our heart wrenching experience more bearable. We remain forever grateful to all of you for your tenderness as we said goodbye to our beautiful little dog.

Amazing service that won them a customer for life. My dog Jack had an issue that we noticed later in the day. We currently have a Banfield membership in the earliest they could see him was in 2 weeks or more. I called Long Valley animal hospital and right away they told me that this might be above their care and to contact crown veterinary services. I asked him again if they can just take a look at him because the other place was too far away and even though they were closing soon, they all stayed after and helped me out and took care of Jack. Even though he was very defensive, They were very nice to him. Very thorough and helped us out. This is a kind of service that you want in a local vet and the kind of service you want. Taking care of your best furry friend. Cant recommend this place enough!

I have nothing but praise for Dr. Earl and the staff at Long Valley Animal Hospital. He proved himself to be knowledgeable and caring. He treated my aging 15 year old cat for the first time when I brought her there in an emergency situation. Thankfully, he brought her back from that crisis. He keeps me in the loop and carefully explains treatment options.I know that I can count on Dr. Earl and his staff to give my cats the best possible care. He has demonstrated this for the dozen or so years that I have been taking my cats to him whether for emergencies or regularly scheduled care. He keeps me in the loop and carefully explains treatment options and I know that I can trust him and his staff.

The Drs at LVAH are top notch, caring and very thoughtful in their assessments and advice. They dont rush to conclusions and utilize data and information to make treatment decisions. My golden has been under their care for almost 13 years and now, while she in her later senior years, they and their very competent and caring staff have provided her the support and treatment that has certainly lengthened and maintained her quality of life. If asked, I would recommend LVAH without hesitation.

I bring my dog Ivy and two other dogs I care for ( Raja & Maggie) here. Ivy has a chronic illness and Raja has some arthritic problems that her prior vet couldn’t manage. Maggie is just a big baby wearing the suite of a 89lb German Shepard. They take such great care with Ivy, very knowledgeable and really help put my mind at ease with her health conditions. I had issues with a prior vet and it made me lose a lot of trust in veterinarians. I was only taking ivy to a specialist at Crown Vet for 2 years. It was the only vet I trusted. When he deemed her not critical he told me I had to find a normal veterinarian to continue her treatment and care.I was so nervous giving a new place a chance with my baby. At my first appointment, I express my trust issues and prior issues, all of that was put at ease. The staff understood the traumatic experience I had with another clinic and just the overall trauma of having a dog get deathly ill and being diagnosed with a life long condition. They have done a wonderful job taking over her care. I’ve had zero issues with getting her medications, appointments, bloodwork etc.I take care of someone who had dementia and he has two dogs. He had a vet he was bringing them too. I decided to switch their care over to this clinic because of the quality and thoroughness I had experienced with Ivy.Once again, Long valley proved to be an excellent veterinary office. Raja was suffering from pain due to arthritis, after being told nothing could be done to help her, and she’s just old, Dr.Earl came up with a solid treatment plan during Raja’s first appointment. They have given Raja a brand new quality of life that her other vet was unable to give her. Raja hadn’t ran around or gotten the zoomies in years because of her arthritis.after being treated and having a plan at Long valley, she’s back to running around and is living a very comfortable pain free life.Maggie (who is afraid for her life in vet offices) got a basic exam and a nail trim. Dr earl & Kyle were so very sweet and patient with her during her nail trim.I like how they do it in the room with you, so you know your pet is being treated with love and patience ❤️The entire staff is friendly and incredible. They have always gone above and beyond to be accommodating. The vets and techs are so sweet to the animals and there’s a lot of love that goes into every appointment which is amazing. Highly recommend

Dr Earl and staff are warm, compassionate, skilled and knowledgeable. They have taken care of our large pet family for many years and never failed to respond to calls or questions. Dr Earl was kind enough to stay overnight with one of our dogs who had surgery for a serious condition. He and the staff have treated us like family over the years, whether for routine exams or having to euthanize some of our pets when their time came, always with the utmost of care. I can't say enough good things about this practice!

We used Long Valley for several years with our older dog, and I'd happily return. The staff are patient and kind, clearly animal lovers to their cores. Office is clean, always amazingly calm, and easy to locate. We unfortunately had to put our dog down, and Dr. Welsh and her wonderful, sympathetic staff made the process as simple and painless as possible. Always proud and happy to recommend this place.

I had been taking my dog here for almost 5 years. She ended up on prescription diet for urinary tract issues. I only was going in once a year in order to keep her prescription. I started using Chewy for delivery service during covid. I got a call from Long Valley Animal hospital that Chewy wanted to confirm my prescription but they needed to see her in order to do this. It had only been 6 months not a year. I, without questioning, brought her in. And after all was said and done and over $1000 later I find out she is fine but has high cholesterol. They also tried to charge me for services I never agreed to. I said I am not paying for anything that I never signed for or verbally agreed to. The office manager never called me back and never tried to resolve the issue. 3 months later Chewy wants to confirm her 1 year prescription and they won't. They refuse to help simply because I was feeling I was taken advantage of and asked them to print my chart. Now I have a dog who needs prescription diet and I can't get her food unless I go pay more money to anther vet to write the prescription. This is purely vindictive and not in the best interest of the dog. I would NEVER recommend this vet to anyone again. They are unprofessional and not looking to help but make money.

Really sweet and caring staff. Took my 2 dogs there for their annual check ups. Really good experience. Both dogs were scared, but Amy was so sweet and patient with them. Dr. Welch was caring and not pushy. Will def continue seeing them!

Dr. Earl is a wonderful vet. He is very thorough and thoughtful. When our dog was sick, we brought her into our previous vet multiple times, and she had no idea what was wrong. When Dr. Earl was covering for her, he immediately figured out what was wrong (and it was serious). Now we bring my cat to him, and he is just great at explaining exactly what he's doing and what the results mean. I would recommend him to anyone.

I brought in my puppy for an initial checkup. I was told his weight was good and had a call back that his stool was fine. Puppy got his initial distemper shot and paid $$$ for the visit. A week later I went back for a urine analysis was told the cost varied but a basic test was $51.00 over the phone. I brought puppy in and was told by a different vet he looked thin and looked at the chart and said, oh he has worms. What??? You just told me last week it was fine. I go to checkout and i get a bill for $225.00. Huh? you told me on the phone the urine test was 50 bucks for the test. Oh the doctor ordered a urine test with culture. I said so I don't pay for the culture if it is negative right, they said no, you pay $150 either way, but it is more expensive if you do them separately. Then they sell me an antibiotic and tell me if it comes back positive, throw that away and we will sell you another one. I care about my puppy but clearly LVAH is geared towards $$$ vs animal care. I can't imagine how much the first year would have cost for the 5 different shots + 50 - 68 bucks per office visit.

We are very happy with Dr. Earl and the staff at Long Valley Animal Hospital. I have a large Akita and Dr. Earl is very good with him...including doing his shots and examination while the dog lays on the floor of the exam room instead of trying to get this big dog up on the table;-) They listen to what you have to say about your animal and will work with you...not talk at you. We feel very confident that our pet is receiving excellent care with LVAH.

Long Valley Animal Hospital has taken unbelievable care for our black lab, Webster. Knowing that Dr. Earl and the rest of the team are there to comfort us when our best friend isn't feeling well goes above and beyond expectations. They never over-diagnose, always provide excellent preventative care, and are exceptionally friendly. I highly recommend Long Valley Animal Hospital to anyone who is looking for top care for their furry child.

Everyone at Long Valley Animal Hospital is wonderful! Dr. Earl goes out of his was to make sure my animals get the best care. Dr. Watts is also wonderful, and everyone in the office is friendly. It is a pleasure to go there, and I highly recommend the practice.

My Kobe is 8 years old and thanks to reviews and recommendations, I switched to Long Valley Animal Hospital. Dr. Earl and his staff are not only welcoming, but genuine, compassionate, helpful and on point. You are not a number there the Dr. really knows your pet. Very happy that we switched to this practice.

While we have been using this vet for the last two years, and had been satisfied with the standard visits for shots and check ups, this practice leaves a lot to be desired otherwise. They don't always provide you will all of the information you need to know, and getting it can be like pulling teeth. You will really need to advocate for your pet here to make sure you are getting the whole picture. The vets are not USDA certified, which is fine, but this also means they do not understand the process for support/service animals that are registered to fly. This also apparently means that they will not take 5 minutes to review the regulations to make themselves informed of the laws regarding domestic flights. They will be quick to take your money, but everything else will be drawn out process. We have since decided to change vets to ensure we get the care that benefits both our dog, and the human he serves.

The vets and assistants [staff] are terrific. Both Ginger Watts,DVM, and Russell Earl, DVM have treated my Flat Coat,Jenny, for different issues, and could not be more pleased with how they examined and handled her. From the "front desk" to the "back room" ,so to speak, this is a first class Animal Hospital.
