The best of the best!!! Dr. Stancel is an amazing veterinarian both for my dog and birds! He is very knowledgeable and answers all of my questions- I have never felt rushed at an appointment and he goes above and beyond for his clients. Speaking of above and beyond, the front desk employees are wonderful too! Maria always makes sure mydog feels comfortable and has always greeted us in such a kind, welcoming manner. I don’t know the names of other employees, but when I needed a copy of a record, the lady was super helpful and I received the email before I hung up the phone. Overall a fantastic practice that I am very thankful to bring my pets to!

Dr. Stancel is the best! He is very compassionate and you can tell he really cares about the animals. He has been looking at our hedgehogs for a couple of years now and he is always super professional. He has a big heart of gold! 💯 recommend.

Dr Stancel is the best. He makes you feel supported and takes time to listen and explain what is going on with your animal family. We first went to him when he was in Nutley which is closer to where we live, but he's so good we followed him here which is a bit further of a drive for us. The whole staff has been stellar any time I've called or brought our little bird in, they assist us as best they can and are always so caring.

Brought my dog to his first appointment here this past weekend and the staff was GREAT! My dog was a little nervous being in a new environment but from Maria at the front desk to Dr. Hilliard, he warmed up super fast! Everyone was so friendly and the office has such a good vibe! Super happy with our decision to switch vets over to Paws, Wings and Scales.

By far the best vet my cockatoo has been to, even better than the 'specialist' she had gone to. The staff is awesome, and Dr. Stancel is great and a very capable and talented vet. The staff has taken calls when they were 'closed', gone above and beyond to accommodate my schedule and questions, and Maria is especially nice, even coming in a half hour early for our drop off for surgery!

Dr Stancel was our vet when with Nutley, we followed up immediately once we found out he opened his own practice. He is so compassionate and caring with the animals it was a no brainer to go where I know my babies will be well cared for! You can’t put a price tag on that type of service. Recently both of our dogs went to have their teeth done, long story short. Our one is a lab research and being he had been in a cage up to his rescue Dr Stancel and his wife Maria were BEYOND accommodating to us. They understand how worried we were about him going ins cage and agreed to not put him through that. My husband and I were both in just awe of how they handled the entire situation, and we k ow they absolutely didn’t have to do any of it! They will FOREVER be our vet and we would recommend them to every person we can! We can’t thank them enough for all they did for us and our babies. Their entire staff as well are all absolute sweethearts!! We love you guys!

I had a wonderful experience here. Both my leopard gecko and my 14 year old dog. Here.. I didn't get to interact with the other doctor who saw my coco. My mom ended up going in with my pup. and I went in with my leopard gecko sal.. but my encounter with Doctor stansel was wonderful. He answered all my questions in a professional and friendly manner. my mom also said the other doctor who has seen Coco is very nice, polite, and very informative on what was going on with my dog, since she's been having seizures. Maria has also been nothing less than absolutely wonderful! By the end of my visit, there ended up being an argumentative pet parent (aka a Karen). After the incident was handled (in my personal opinion) properly by Maria. She profusely apologized for us having to see someone behave like that in the office.Maria deserves praise for what people put her through. I highly recommend for quality and price!

I brought my cat echo for a dental procedure and Dr. Hilliard was so pleasant and kind! She explained everything before and after what to expect from echo and what to do! Hindsight is 20/20. First time using Dr. Stancel, and never again. In the mere month that my cat was his patient, he managed to charge me thousands on diagnostics and visits only to misdiagnose/underdiagnose and fail to properly treat my cat, resulting in his death. During that time, I watched my cat deteriorate, and kept Dr. Stancel informed of everything as it was happening, yet he didn’t do anything to help; instead, he kept telling me to do the same things I’d been doing. Despite knowing my cat had a condition known to cause pain, no pain medications were administered. And only when I did my own research did I find out about other medications my cat should have been taking for his condition, which the doctor never prescribed. There’s even more I can add, but suffice it to say, I trusted this vet to know what he was doing, to properly diagnose my cat and take his condition seriously, and to treat him accordingly, but he didn’t do any of that; he downplayed the severity of the condition and prescribed only the most basic medications that weren’t doing anything to help the situation. And to make matters worse, my cat contracted an upper respiratory infection after a visit at Dr. Stancel’s office, which makes me question how sanitary his facility is (and I should’ve known when, during my first appointment, while waiting in the waiting area, I saw one of his techs drop a pill on the floor and proceed to pick it up and put it in the bottle she was preparing for another patient). I wish I could go back in time and never go to this vet.

I can't say enough about how well they took care of my pig. Everyone was so kind. I had an emergency and usually drive to PA to a large animal hospital. I am so happy to have found Dr Stancel so close to me and also has experience with piggies. He explained everything in detail and showed me pictures of the mouth problems I was concerned about. I'm so grateful for how well they cared for Eli. They were very reasonable for all the things he wound up needing done and I know they tried to be conservative with what they did. Can't thank them enough.

Dr. S is a gentle giant superstar. I started seeing him for my parakeets. He doesn't overmedicate and is such a gentle and kind spirit with tiny birds like parakeets. I always love seeing their tiny heads pop up in his hand when he examines them lol He doesn't rush his appointments and always educates his clients when questions are asked. Dr. S brought all the great nurses with him when moving practices.I recently brought in my first dog in for her appointment after adoption. First time visit for a dog check up was only 80 dollars! So affordable for sweet and easy vet visits.(New Office is slightly small. If your dog is reactive, keep a tight leash as everyone is a little close together. However the TV of national geographic always helps clients start conversation)

This place is horrible. I was 8 mins late and because I did not call to tell them to tell them that I was running late, Maria the office manager refuse to take me and my dog . I have been with the doctor at a different location and he was very helpful. This is the only reason why I come to this location. The office manager Maria was so rude to me and my dog. This is not a pet friendly place. She refuse to have me speak with the doctor and said he will call me when he has time. Maria also refuse to give me a timeframe. Meantime my dog has a leg problem and it was very hard to get to the appointment because she was hurt her leg a few weeks ago. Maria feels she owns the place and refuse to help my dog because I was 8 mins late. Maria also said I was fired; like I work for her. She works for a company and she should be fired. You do not treat customer and our little furry baby so rude . Not even a human gets treated at an docs office they way Maria treated us today. I will never visit the place again and I will speak to the doctor because he needs to know who how Maria the office manager is treating this clients and our little furry babies. Maria treated us today like she treats her kids. Maria please attend a customer class and I hope and pray to God helps you and your soul! Our furry babies should not be treated like this because you were 8 mins late.
