We took our senior cat here and Doctor Ilia and the rest of the staff were unbelievably kind and helpful for getting us through the difficult task of saying goodbye to our baby (which was one of the hardest things we ever had to do). I can't imagine going through that without all the patience, care, and guidance that was provided here. They even gave us a little paw print clay ornament as a gift and sent a really nice card. We are excited to now take our big girl rescue Pyrenees there for her future care. The spot feels more like a house than a big pet store (where we have gone before and our dog gets anxious at this other spot). I think she will like this much more. Thanks again to everyone at Roxbury Animal Hospital!! :)

We have been trusting The Animal Hospital of Roxbury for 2 years now with our Border Collie Mae. The entire staff including the veterinarian that our pet usually sees, Dr Hickenbottom are all fantastic, caring, friendly, pet loving people. The care that is given is thorough and accurate, they always take the time to make sure our pet is taken care of. Any time that we bring in our dog for a potential concern, the doctor herself always reaches out to make sure that she is OK or to go over results or recommendations.Thank you all for doing what you do very well!

I switched to this practice at the beginning of 2024 after being at Flanders Veterinary Clinic for several years. I was not happy there anymore and needed to find a great Vet for my 2 cats. My one cat has/had hyperthyroidism and I was beginning the process of doing Radio Iodine therapy for her. My other cat is "a bit much" when going to the Vet. Basically, he needs to be drugged out to be seen.I was able to be seen very quickly for my hyperthyroid cat, and they worked with Blue Pearl of Levittown to get them all the blood work, and ultrasound results fast so that she could get the therapy asap.We saw Dr. Hickenbottom and Vet Tech Remi, and I was extremely pleased with their knowledge and kindness during the visit. I never felt like a question I asked was going to be thought of as silly, and they took time for me to ask questions and not make me feel rushed. After she had her therapy done, we recently went back for her 1 month blood work. Surprisingly, they have appointments where you can just come in to get blood work done! No well visit fee, just pay for the blood work! This is so amazing and I wish ALL Vets did this!!! I got the results back in a timely manner, and they also sent the results to Blue Pearl for me.Dr. Hickenbottom also did a well visit for my difficult cat. Even though we drugged him, he was agitated during his visit. This did not seem to bother her (my previous vet just threw up their hands and said they can't check him) and she got 2 of her Vet Techs in the room to help with holding him so that she could get some blood for the senior panel we were doing. The Techs (sorry I can't remember their names) were so amazing and knew how to handle him. I cannot express how happy I am to know that I have a vet the can deal with his intense personality!The last thing I will add to this, and I hope that you are all still with me, is that the Receptionists I have dealt with, Alicia and Jennifer, have been amazing every time I have called in or been in the office. They are welcoming, and seem to be able to multi task very well.I have truly enjoyed my visits to the Animal Hospital of Roxbury, and really appreciated having a Vet that I can trust with my babies! I will be recommending them to anyone that asks!

I've been so pleased with the care my elder fur baby has been given since our first visit years ago. The staff are very helpful and kind.The only negative thing I will say is I'm disappointed that there are no Saturday office hours. I realize they have Families and want to spend time with them. I would never not recommend them to anyone because of that.

I can’t express how great this vet office is. They are patient, understand, and really truly care for their clients. I was working with a tight budget BOTH the vet and the tech went over the charges for everything and discussed what was optional and thoroughly went over what I would be paying. I was never rushed. The receptionist are amazing and welcoming. I couldn’t say enough good things about them. I wish I could give six out of five stars. As a service dog owner and trainer I won’t trust my dogs and my clients dogs with anyone else.

Dr. Elia has shown the outmost compassion and professionalism throughout his time under her care. From the doctor to the receptionist, everyone is simply a joy to work with. Let me start off by saying that I love the doctors and techs. They’ve always treated my dogs well and have been consistently respectful towards me. However, the front desk staff (specifically Jennifer) leave a lot to be desired. They’re unfriendly, rude, arrogant, and unprofessional, which is a shame because I have been taking my dogs to the Animal Hospital of Roxbury for two years and as much as I love and respect my dog’s doctor I refuse to allow myself to be mistreated and disrespected by the front desk staff every time I have an appointment. As a result I’ve decided to take my pooches to another local vet.

The team at Rouxbury animal hospital were overseeing our 9 years old Asya when diagnosed with bone cancer, the amount of support they offered us was outstanding, their patient, professionalism helped us to go thru this hard times. I can’t think of anything that they need to improve on. The practice is run well and they know each individual animal well. When our dog was young they picked up on a medical condition. We wouldn’t use anyone else for our dogs.

I have been looking for a cat groomer. It was my first visit to this facility. While checking my Gracie Ann in for her first grooming there were a few people in the waiting room and all highly recommended the services provided the professionals here. My search is over for a groomer as well as a vet. Annette did a fantastic job.

I can't even begin to explain why I love this place and all the workers here. I've been coming here a little over a year now and I've never had the pleasure of working with such amazing people before until Roxbury. They really actually care about the welfare of your babies and do everything they can to work with you to get the help and things you need. We just rescued our baby boy Finnegan (who is 9 wks) and they were just awesome with explaining everything and answering my questions. Super helpful. I recently moved to a new town and am willing to drive an hour to these guys for my boy. They're definately worth going to. You're babies are in the best hands 😁

I had been coming to AHR for over 25 years under the ownership of Dr. Golub. When Dr. Elia originally took over, I was hesitant to continue to use them. My first interaction with Dr. Elia came when my older dog was very sick. Her kindness, compassion and knowledge made me realize immediately that she and her wonderful staff would continue to care for my dogs. There is nobody else I would trust more than Dr. Elia and her amazing staff.

Dr. Elia shows great care for my baby girl dog. She is caring and has a lot of patience. She takes her time explaining things to you, making sure you understand fully. She is kind and gentle with my baby. Overall staff is amazing, however, front desk receptionist could have a bit of an attitude over the phone and doesn’t have very good customer service skills.

I have no complaints! Everyone there from the front to the back is great. My dog gets everything there, including his grooming by Stephanie. We are lucky to have such a great team near the house. Let me say also, when you walk in, it doesn't smell like an animal hospital. I am sure they mop those floors right after accidents.

What I love most about The Animal Hospital of Roxbury -- Groomer and Veterinarian combined. When my pups go in for their grooming I feel there is an extra moment they get looked at and should something come up it can be dealt with right away.The staff is amazing. They email, telephone to confirm and follow up which shows me they care about their work and all of the animals they come in contact with for all their appointments.Every step is explained -- leaving one as a pet owner comfortable and knowing your extended family is taken care of well!

Techs and Vets were very friendly and knowledgeable. Prices were fair and they explained things very clearly without trying to rip you off for overpriced testing. Also they don't charge the office visit fee if your just coming in for vaccines.

Love the care here. I’ve been taking my dog here since I moved to the area a few years ago. The wait times are never long for your appointment, the doctor takes her time to examine your dog without feeling rushed, and everything has a relaxed & personal feeling about it. Would recommend this vet to anyone.
