As a newbie to Hopatcong, I had to share my recent experience. My dog was bitten by a neighbors unleashed dog. Gianna runs the Hopatcong shelter (and 3 others) and also Animal Control. She’s a fantastic young woman with so much responsibility I truly don’t know how she handles it all so well! She handled the bite situation perfectly and quickly. The shelter is so clean and those dogs and cats are so well cared for by her & Jessica, another very nice employee. I’m so impressed & will volunteer any time I have to help them. Please volunteer even if you have one hour a week, they run it alone & need the help. And it’s a great way to serve our community🐶😻 Thank you Gianna & Jessica!

Whitney Lott, please consider deleting your review. The place you went was not the Hopatcong Animal Shelter. Our ACO, Gianna, is very friendly and helpful. She loves animals and would never treat anyone in that manner. Regretfully the nonprofit you accidentally went to is not very friendly. Please go back between 9 am and 1 pm to meet Gianna. Thank you! 😊❣️

I adopted my Pit Mix on the 10th of April. Dogs arrived from SC. 2 dogs were matched for me. One came up to me right away, and I knew he was mine. This was a very good experience. We are working with a trainer to be a great team. Charlie and I thank you.

The new reconstruction looks fantastic! All of the pets waiting for a new home have a comfortable place to stay. Nice a.c. to keep them cool. I'm so happy they will be here in our town until they meet their new families. ❤🐕🐱🐶🐩🐈

Unfriendly and extremely rude staff. Went to knock on a door because no entrance is clearly marked and a woman answered. When we told her we were looking for the adoptable dogs she said "can't you see this is the cat shelter, see that big cat cat outside?"Would not recommend this place if you are looking for friendly staff taking care of an animal you're looking to adopt.

The Hopatcong pound project is not part of the Hopatcong animal pound! It has ZERO to do with the real Hopatcong animal pound. The Hopatcong pound run by the town of Hopatcong is amazing and a cherished part of our beloved town.
