I cannot say enough wonderful things about heart + paw. I have had a few different vets for my past dogs and none of them come close to how great heart + paw are. From the front desk staff, to the vet techs and vets, they are amazing and genuinely care about your pet. You can tell they love what they do & are very knowledgeable! They are SO accommodating, explain everything, answer all questions and are always up front about prices. I love them so much! I’ll never take my current/future pets anywhere else.

I don’t think I could say enough good things about Heart & Paw. This is, by far, the best veterinary facility we have ever been to. The staff is amazing! Everyone is so caring, patient & knowledgeable. My dog recently needed dental surgery & I was very anxious to proceed due to bad experiences in the past & a pre existing condition. Not only did everything go well, but every single encounter with the team at Heart & Paw was incredibly reassuring for me & Lily. They stayed in contact with me throughout the procedure so I knew how Lily was doing. They have showered her with love every time we’ve gone in. Her recovery has been quick & relatively easy, exactly as they said it would be. I am so happy I found Heart & Paw and I have so much gratitude for Dr Caitlin Verhalen, Jenny, Nancy & Morgan. 💛💛💛

I’m so happy I found Heart and Paw. After being completely dissatisfied by local veterinary clinics, I started using Heart and Paw when we added our newest furry edition. We always see Dr. Izzy. She is the most kind and caring person. She takes the time to explain things in detail, and generally cares about her patients! The rest of the staff is also extremely friendly. From the girls at the desk to the vet techs, we always feel welcome! Their costs are reasonable, and they always give you the costs up front. I highly recommend this clinic and am so happy we found it!

Second time there and they're so nice. They're always able to get us in last minute. Both times were times I needed our dog seen as soon as possible. I have a different vet that I love but due to distance I am switching. We are looking forward to our dogs annual exam in April. The staff at heart and paw are always kind and knowledgeable. The facility is spacious and clean. Great experience all around.

I called at 7am for an emergency visit and was immediately called back when the office opened. Heart+Paw quickly got me an appointment. When arriving at the office I was immediately put in a room and was seen within 10 minutes despite it being very busy. They were kind, understanding and did their best to make me and my cat comfortable.When arriving at the office, my cat was terrified. The vet tech got on the floor to assess my cat while she was hiding! It really showed the love they have for animals. The doctor did a great job of explaining what was wrong and the treatment moving forward. Also, the price for treatment was very reasonable.Overall, despite an awful situation, I would definitely return to Heart + Paw.

I went for a 2-doggy appt. The vet tech got us right in. The hospital is very clean, modern state-of-the-art exam rooms, and spacious. Exams were thoroughly done, pertinent questions asked and answers recorded. Dr. Caitlin was very caring and knowledgeable. I did not have any problems with billing or the front office staff. Everything on the bill is explained.

I would highly recommend Heart + Paw Veterinary. The staff were amazing and made us feel so welcoming as we walked through the door. We just moved to the area and were looking for a veterinarian. We got a new puppy and I called Thursday night about an hour before closing because I was concerned that he was straining to urinate and nothing was coming out, but also needed a new patient appointment to get him checked out anyway. Morgan answered the phone and was super friendly. She was compassionate toward the concerns I had mentioned, advised me on what to do overnight, and told us to come in first thing Friday morning. What a great first impression just over the phone!We received a warm welcome when we arrived. Morgan brought us into the exam room immediately and proceeded to make copies of the records that I had from the breeder. Justine came in to take some information and was very personable, not only answering whatever questions I had, but also sharing experiences and giving recommendations when I asked about different foods and pet insurance companies.Dr. Caitlin was very thorough in her exam of my pup. She checked him from head to tail, asking questions about my observations of him thus far, complimenting his temperament, sharing her knowledge, answering all of my questions, and even offering him treats and spray cheese to make sure he was comfortable. She was very patient while we tried to wait for him to urinate and went to get a wee wee pad to see if that would help. When he wouldn’t do it, she gave me a kit to take home to collect his urine and bring back. Turns out she was right, it was just him being a puppy, getting excited, having a small bladder, and getting the urge to go even though nothing would come out while he got used to his new environment. But the thoroughness of her exam in how she checked his bladder and reported that she didn’t feel anything abnormal made me feel confident in her perception of what was going on.Upon leaving, Justine helped us book his next appointment for vaccines and even gave us a new puppy kit with some information for training, a healthy vs harmful food list, and a poop bag dispenser with poop bags that attaches to his leash, and a ball, and a squeaky toy for the little guy. It’s the thoughtful little things like that which you can’t fake or buy to make your pup parents feel like they brought their pets to the right place.The receptionists were patient during checkout while I tried to get the little guy to urinate outside with no luck. They cuddled him while I collected my belongings and were very kind to talk to.What I loved about this place is that you feel their warmth and compassion. The facility was also new, and exceptionally clean, which goes a long way when you have animals coming in and out all day. They were very transparent about pricing and go over the costs with you before checkout so there are no surprises. For an exam and fecal sample, it was definitely affordable. They don’t distinguish between sick and well visits, and charge one flat exam fee.I was extremely impressed with this location and can’t wait to bring my other boy here for his checkups, too!

This is place is wonderful, my baby was sick & they took my boy in without an appt. Dr Izzy saw him right away and was nice, compassionate, & explained everything to me. The whole staff was great from the vet techs, Nancy the receptionist, & Christina calling me the next day to check on him. First time there .. was able to see my cat in 2 days. Very happy for that. My vet was almost 6 weeks. Staff was very polite and friendly. Dr and assistant were extremely thorough in explaining the diagnosis. extremely clean facility! I was very happy and a satisfied pet owner!! Totally recommend Heary & Paws! 🐾

I had a very good experience bringing my little chi to Heart+Paw. Easy to make an appointment either online or by phone. Nice website.The stuff was very welcoming, they took time to listen to all my concerns. During the appointment I had all my questions answered and got all the explanations I needed. I didn't feel rushed in any way. My little chi was comfortable too. He was handled there with great care.The facility itself is spacious and comfortable. We had a separate quiet waiting room to ourselves. Next day I received a follow up call from the doctor.All I can say is big thanks to everyone at Heart+Paw at Lake Hopatcong!

I could not be any happier with Heart + Paw! The whole staff is amazing! You can tell from the second you walk through the doors that they care more about the animals than the money. They make sure to make your pets feel as comfortable as possible & take the time to listen to all questions and concerns. They don’t rush to get your pet in and out and give your pet time to relax. They saw my cat was starting to get stressed out and decided to only take him out of his crate to do all shots and weight at once and then gave him time to relax again before they brought him back to do bloodwork. I am beyond happy that I switched vets. If you’re looking for a vet, I highly recommend!!!

The lady at the front, Nancy, is so friendly and warm; it set the tone to be a very positive one, so our dog was also more comfortable than he typically is when we wait to go see the vet. We went in, got some meds for the Charlie boy, and we were out.

The Receptionists- Staff- All the way Through to the Doctor Were ALL VERY WELCOMING. They made me feel like my decision making on my own 15 year old Cat’s Ear Infection And small Cyst was Very Important- The Doctor gave me options and what she would do if it was her own pet, and I felt VERY COMFORTABLE ABOUT IT. She took Extra Precautions and was Very Good To Hercules- I Thank You And I Appreciate It - I Now Have A New Vet For My Two Dogs As Well

We originally came to this vet for a second opinion and absolutely fell in love. Heart + Paw’s facility is clean and their operations were more than exceptional. Our 14 year old Dachshund in the best shape she’s been in a while. Everyone remembers our girl by name and they’re all so very personable. I’m not sure who walks out of there feeling happier- us, or Pumpkin (Hailey). Thank you Heart + Paw! I would highly recommend this location to anyone!!

"Dr. IZZY" HAS BEEN AWESOME WITH OUR DOG WHO IS AN OLDER DOG THAT SUDDENLY BECAME UNEXPLAINABLY ILL WITH SEVERE PAIN. DR. izzy took very good care of our "baby" and looks like she figured out the problem after consulting with a few colleagues. Although treatment will take several months to hopefully cure so far our dog has been doing well on the medication over the last 2 months and is not in excruciating pain anymore. I am so thankful for the loving kindness and dedication that Dr. IZZY and the entire staff has shown towards caring for our pup!

Absolutely amazing Vet ! We took our 1yo orange cat for his 1 year check up. At his previous vet, he was prescribed an anxiety medication because he was violent with the vets there. We found this hard to believe as he is such a loving cat at home. However when we brought him to Heart & Paw for the first time he was more relaxed, explored the room, let the vets examine him and was very friendly with them. A true game changer and will be our primary vet from now on! Couldn’t recommend them more.

Heart+paw Lake Hopatcong are great and the staff are the best. We have a very nervous dog and they are very patient and accommodating. He had a large mass growing on his side last year. Dr Izzy not only removed it but wet the extra mile to make sure to remove anything else they might be a problem later. She did an awesome job stitching him up and he has been great ever since. Dr. Izzy and Dr. Blackman are awesome. Friendly, professional and they really care. Can’t say enough good things.

Our visit to heart+ paws office was our best experience with a vet office. Very clean. Very caring. They know a lot about pets and they share their knowledge. I can not tell enough how kind and caring are with pets. They are very patient and spend substantial amount of time one on one with us. Dr, Blackman is an angle. He is the best. He is very knowledgable but humble and very very nice. Staff are incredible. I can not tell you enough about this vet office.

This place is awesome! It’s beautiful inside, everyone is friendly and very professional. I have a spicy kitty and they were able to give her all her vaccinations and take blood work. The vet tech Erin is the best and amazing at her job! She’s very good with animals and clearly loves them so much!

Heart + Paw was not only extremely clean the facility was also beautiful. The entire staff was nice, helpful, and you can tell they truly care and love their jobs. My dog sometimes gets a bit anxious in vet waiting rooms but here they took her right into a room where she could wait.

Absolutely amazing care. We switched to this vet due to my very nervous and reactive dog not doing well at her other vet. Today was her very first visit and though she was still very nervous all the staff there were incredibly kind and compassionate. Dr. Verhalen and her nurse were able to give my dog an exam and her shots without being medicated and without a muzzle. That is something I never thought would be possible! I am so thankful for finding Heart + Paw!

I was really late to my appointment since I’m a business owner and was dealing with an issue at my store. I was very relieved how understanding they were and that they still saw my little pup. Would have completely understood if I needed to reschedule since I’ve worked in the medical field for 10 years. Doctor was so sweet to him and explained a lot of stuff I didn’t know as a first time dog owner. Giovanni will be back !!
