Absolutely the best grooming experience! Excellent customer service, apppointment was easy to schedule, prices were reasonable. Groomer did an excellent job, did everything I asked for and nothing I didn't. My morkie looked happy and adorable.

I started bringing my pit bull here for monthly baths around four years ago. When we first started coming, she would lock her legs and refuse to walk in, she’s so terrified of water! But thanks to the professional, caring, and efficient groomers at Reigning Cats and Dogs, she marches right in now, no problem. I don’t know what sorcery they’re using, but it’s made her trips to the “beauty parlor” so easy. She comes home squeaky clean and smelling great.I also want to comment on ”Caiti’s” completely unhinged and off-base review. You see, I was actually there to pick up my dog when that incident occurred. She was berating the groomer, who was completely calm, reasonable and professional throughout the ordeal. Caiti was the one cursing and acting like a fool for no reason. Her two dogs’ coats did look pretty overgrown, but they otherwise looked quite happy & healthy with tails wagging.Just sharing, since returning recently for our monthly visit reminded me of that episode. And out of curiosity, I was thinking “I bet that woman left a review.” And lo and behold — of course she did, because Karen’s gonna Karen.But anyway, enough about that. My dog and I are super super happy with Reigning Cats and Dogs. 😊

Most aggressive & unprofessional experience ever had with a business owner…Started going about 2 yrs ago. Started not too bad. Seemed like nice enough place, why wouldn’t it be? Other than a few bad reviews, which could be a fluke, figured why not try them out!After first visit, no real complaints, however I noticed when we went back for 2nd, 3rd, etc visit, every time we got close to facility, both dogs were terrified to go inside. They have NEVER acted like this ever in their lives going to any groomer. Even at the vet, never acted like this! They’re naturally very happy dogs & loved previous groomers & have actually dragged me into previous grooming facilities because they were happy to go! Stupidly, I didn’t act on this observation. Hind sight is 20-20 & I really wish I listened to gut feelings earlier before this last experience..Fast forward to 2024. I was advised by numerous local folks & professionals not to bring dogs to groomer yet bc of kennel cough & other horrible sicknesses, so figured wait longer than usual before going for regular grooming sessions. On this beautiful day, excited to get dogs groomed & cleaned, I was almost immediately confronted by someone who was aggressive for no reason. I had difficulties yet again guiding dogs into facility bc of how scared they were. After a struggle getting them in, the angry lady who barely glanced at them immediately said they need to be shaved & said it numerous times. I made a comment to perhaps look at them before telling me this. She then showed small spots of matting, which I knew were there but all she kept saying was he’s super matted & then had the nerve to tell me I was neglecting my dogs. She used very harsh language & kept repeating herself, not giving me a chance to speak. Naturally, as someone who is being attacked, I responded & told her she was being extremely rude, unprofessional & that her delivery was horrendous. I attempted to tell her about the dog sicknesses going around & she cut me off every time, with a louder, more aggressive voice. Then had nerve to tell me I was getting louder when all I was trying to do was communicate the situation. She was allowed to raise her voice, be aggressive, rude, unprofessional & snarky but I wasn’t allowed to respond. Before this got heated, I noticed my other dog’s eyes were super red, which is a sign of stress & anxiety. He felt her aggression just like I did before getting into it.I feel the need to paint this picture for those looking to bring furbabies here. It is hard sometimes to trust what happens when you leave. I should’ve listened to dog’s reactions long ago. I’m actually upset for bringing them back. I can only imagine how they were handled. How can you be so aggressive towards an existing repeat customer? She could have acted like a normal human. Clearly this woman has a very low emotional IQ, so it is what it is, but as business owner, I wouldn’t give them a dime forward. I knew it would be unsafe for dogs to be touched after this interaction so I had no choice but to leave.*For record, no issue shaving if needed, however, I do have a huge problem w her behavior. In what world is that ok? She should be disgusted & embarrassed. This is no way to treat a customer.When home, we brushed both dogs for about 20 mins & got out most knots pretty easily. So for someone whose literal job is to brush & overall groom, the fact she was resorting to shaving proved she was wrong. I should’ve known the 1st time when dogs gave signs of distress. If you’re unable to groom dogs without completely stressing them out, then close shop. I already found several groomers, explained situation & they have no issue grooming. Looking forward to grooming by a professional, caring establishment instead of this horror show.*UPDATE* Owner bullies by publicly posting PERSONAL INFORMATION without consent, against Google’s terms if post negative reviews hoping you will remove original post! Wonder how many she’s done this to? So unprofessional. Dogs have since been groomed & much happier at difference place!

What can I say about our pets safety? Besides the fact that it's more important to me than MY OWN safety....I've never NOT gone to Reigning Cats & Dogs for over 15 years, Reigning Cats & Dogs and Barbara have been a part of our lives and family. We wouldn't have it any other way.I've sent dozens of referrals here and I've never heard of them NOT returning.Our pup now, Connor, a 10 pound Lhatese (Lhasa Also x Maltese Hybrid) is the apple of our eye and he's here every 6 weeks looking FLAWLESS after every visit.I've included just a couple pics of his highness after a cut by Barbara (she has always been my go to groomer) BUT everyone here is highly experienced and super talented.My only advice:TELL THEM WHAT YOU'RE LOOKING FOR, NO ONE CAN READ MINDS.****TO RILEY & CO. IN REGARD TO YOUR RECENT REVIEW: I'm sorry but you couldn't be more uneducated. Are you aware that if a groomer allowed the animal to leave matted, they're putting them at HEALTH RISK? Well, Reigning Cats $ Dogs won't let you hurt your pet and they will NEVER hurt yours. The matting is a serious thing that can cause severe skin infections. It's not all about a pretty dog for most of us, you called them ANTAGONISTIC?? Sir or Madam, there is something wrong with you. You shouldn't have a dog. AND APRIL IS ANYTHING BUT WHAT YOU SAID CRAZY LADY.

April , Chris and staff go above and beyond in making our beautiful fur babies even more beautiful. When one of our dogs developed skin issues they went above and beyond taking photos and trying a variety of shampoos. Their day at the spa is well documented with photos. We are very happy with the love and care they receive here

Staff is very friendly and they do a great job grooming my dogs. Very accommodating to our needs with our dog that cannot be in a crate as well as given special attention to our pup with skin issues. Dogs come home smelling fantastic with a cute seasonal bandana.

First time having my two dogs groomed at Reigning Cats and Dogs! Both dogs received amazing cuts, were squeaky clean and smelled great! The staff were friendly and punctual. What I really like about this grooming facility is that my dogs were in and out within 2.5 hours. They weren't shoved in a cage for the entire day. Came here a second and a third time, and am still very happy with the services!

Loved my puppy’s first haircut here! He looked so great and wasn’t scared at all. Love that they don’t use drying crates. They were friendly and very thorough. It was busy (yet looked very organized) but they took the time to explain the process. Very nice and clean place.

A bit late to review, but the job they did on my kitten Talos was genuinely amazing. They couldnt groom my other kitten Maki unfortunately, but that was to be expected with her aggression issues towards strangers in unfamilar places.I have no issues with that.Id rather they not try if its going to stress Maki out anyways, so I appreciate not trying to force it.A super awesome job, a super awesome place, and friendly staff.Already rebooked for my boy and will continue to do so :)

Reigning Cats and Dogs Grooming in Hillsdale is Top Notch and so extremely caring, compassionate and skilled. I have a senior Malamute Husky who is very large with arthritis in her legs. They let me be overprotective in telling them exactly how I want her to be taken care of regarding letting her rest off her legs etc during the grooming. They have extra equipment for senior dogs to help take the weight off their legs while grooming as well. They already know exactly what to do to be so gentle and caring I just cant help saying my peace too and they totally understand that Im the dog momma. My dog comes back to me happy and looking gorgeous each time. I have been a customer there for over 10 years. 🌈

I’m happy to say as always I am so happy with their service. My dog is a cockapoo & had been to three groomers previously & has been going here for years. We’ve never had a problem. Even though my dog can be difficult they are wonderful with her and she loves all of them. And her haircuts always look amazing. Great service and staff.

My 7 year old Corgi has behavioral problems and is very hard to groom. After years of bathing him myself I finally decided to take him to a professional groomer. RCAD exceeded my expectations. Not only was the staff friendly and helpful but my dog came out looking like a puppy again. They did such a wonderful job. I would absolutely recommend taking your dog here!

We are so very happy with the absolutely wonderful job they did on our beloved long haired cat. It was her first time at a groomer and she can be very hard to handle, but somehow they managed to give her an adorable lion cut. She is so much happier not having the matted knots that made home grooming become impossible. We will definitely return and we are very grateful to the staff for taking such good care of our little cat that can be more than a little temperamental :)

They've been grooming our Morkie for a few years and we really have no complaints. They treat the animals as if they were their own and that's very important to us. They are a little bit pricey than some of the other local groomers but we still use them for the other reasons mentioned.

Was told I need to come back within 3 months and instead texted at 4 months and they were rude and said they wouldn’t service my dog anymore. They completely shave him anyway, so why does it make a difference?

We never have an issue at this establishment! They’re sweet, caring and my two dogs (layla and denali) always look great! we drive 20+ minutes just to use reigning cats and dogs because we trust them with our pups. they take notes and make sure they know exactly what you want. i truly think the people with anything less than 5 stars haven’t been around. and for people complaining about price… good old saying .. ya get what ya pay for and reigning cats abs dogs is TOP NOTCH SERVICE!!!! :)

You all did such a great job with Lucky today and every time he comes there. Once COVID hit I had to search for a new groomer because ours was not open. I honestly made the best decision switching to you. I love his ears!!!! His cocker spaniel crown!! You are the best! Thank you for working with him. For anyone who has a dog who doesn't like to be groomed- I know it is stressful anytime you drop them off. Please - bring them to to April and her team. We are on grooming number 4 and he gets better every time with their patience and care and love for every dog. They by far go out of their way to work with your dog and you. I highly recommend them!

Everyone is so compassionate! They treat all furry clients like there own❤️ I’ve been bringing both my pups here for over 10 years and not once was I disappointed. I alway pick my pup from back door.and watched how lovingly they treat and talk to the pups. I know my pup has had matted ears or tail and yes her feet every so often and yes she can be stubborn at times lol. But Tara and Kristen always treated her with sweetness and patience and had my pup’s best interest in heart. After my pup Lexi was recovering from back surgery they handled her like a china doll. Lexi actually enjoyed coming here. I rate Reigning Cats and Dogs 10+

I was originally referred to Reigning Cats & Dogs by my dogs vet and I really liked their service but since my dogs come to work with me, I foolishly made the mistake of using a groomer closer to work (& it wasn’t a matter of cost because this other place was more expensive). I’ll never do that again because the other place was negligent with my dog. While I’m reluctant to allow just anyone to handle my dogs since that incident, I had no hesitation returning to Reigning Cats & Dogs.Now my dogs have been going to Reigning Cats & Dogs for nearly 14 years and they’ve been consistent with the work I’ve come to know and trust (and no, they have never used heated cages to dry - drying is done by hand so the animals don’t overheat). Plus, my dog actually looks forward to going there (he likes picking out his own cage when they’re not busy). He’s generally not a friendly dog but he’s a social butterfly with everyone there and that speaks volumes as to the treatment he gets there.

In response to a recent negative review left by another reviewer. As a former client (my dogs have passed away since). Reigning cats & dogs has your pets best interest at heart. If your dog is matted it would be inhumane to ask a groomer to demat your dog that you have neglected for 5 months to brush yourself at home. It is extremely painful for your pet. If you have a daughter, which I do, you would know that brushing your daughters full, thick Hair is no picnic. The staff at reigning cats and dogs are professionals with 10+ & 20+ years experience who know what’s best for your fur babies. I highly recommend reigning cats and dogs for the health and safety of your pets.
