Into craft beer? Carton brewery is a great place to visit. They have a good selection on tap at all times as well as a good amount of cans to take home. While you’re here, visit the Jersey shore since it’s minutes away. A lot of restaurants around also. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

On a side street next to the bigger brewery is a cute house like building. The downstairs has some merchandise and you can take a tour. The upstairs is the tasting room. So relaxed and comfortable with friendly people and a dog or two. An amazing array of choices at the front and back bars (but all one room). We tried a variety and came back the next week for more.

Came here for the second time over the weekend, the upstairs vibe is very cozy. They have two bars with a wide variety of beers on draft. I love that they allow animals also (super cute dog there). We were able to sit and chat on the couches and staff was super friendly. Only thing was the entrance was hard to find

One of my wife and I (and our dogs) go to's. A really nice mix of beers, and something for everyone, lighter, hoppier, sour, heavy, always tons of options. They frequently brew new beers as well so if you find yourself going weekly (guilty at times) there is always something new to try.A very cool unique orange vibe inside and as mentioned very dog friendly. Extremely nice and helpful staff serves as icing to one of the best brewery outings in Monmouth county!

Awesome brewery and tap room. Their staff is always super friendly and knowledgeable, and their service is great as well. The place is constantly experimenting with new styles and seasonal beers so it's always fun to swing by on any random day to see what they're brewing up. Great tap room to bring a small group of friends or to just go solo. Looking forward to my next visit!

Guys, don't support this business. Consistently dirty and poorly run, this place is more like your grandpa's basement than a proper establishment for drinking. Ask a different staff member the same question and you'll get a different answer each time, and most never seem to be actually working but just hanging out and improperly pouring beer. Some of the conversations we've overheard as customers have been inappropriate, offensive, and just unprofessional by both staff and patrons. Go to a cleaner, better run, safer, and all around better brewery (there are tons to choose from!) and support them instead.

Very nice brewery with plenty of selection for all types of beer lovers. Stopped in for the first time as we were in the area. The wife is related to the Carton Family as distant cousins. Neat to have some family in the brew business but we were not there for freebies nor mentioned it. Cans and Merch is on the first floor with some tours available. You can purchase cans and two keg types along with hats, clothes, shirts and drinkware. Tasting and drinks are on the second floor, accessible by stairs. Did not see an elevator. Love the original decor of the exposed construction. Plenty of signs describing the type of beer. You can do tastings, full pours and take home of growlers. Full house today as the Twin Light Ride happened in the area. Very dog friendly as there were three present when we arrived. As well, art of dogs was a decor theme from a local artist. You can have your dog or pet captured on canvas. See photo for name. Only had time to try one beer before closing. Had ThisTown as it fit our palette. Really well done and the description nailed it. Took a growler home. Service was very good as they were busy and kept things moving along. Will definitely be back with other family members that live in the area. Definitely a stop when in the area.

came here on a mild afternoon for a couple of beers. the thing i found the coolest is that they have two bars with different draft selections so you are able to make a flight from both bars. you just take your card to wherever your next beer is to get a fresh pour. my one suggestion is to get a self serve water jug for patrons.2022 Edit! Bumping this to a 5 after a few more visits. They upgraded the seating and still have great beers! Dog friendly which is always fun while enjoying beers.

Had a great first time visit last Friday. When reviewing a brewery, I'm not sure whether to review the place, or the beer itself? It was easy for me this time as I enjoyed both. The explosion of small local breweries makes it easy to find one, however many of them lean heavy on the current trend of IPA styles. What I like most about Carton is their commitment to other styles. I enjoy all styles, so when I see several stout offerings and beers of varying a.b.v levels I know it's a brewery for me. That's Carton. Another aspect that sets them apart are their small serving tastings. You pick four, and the price also includes a larger 5th glass so you can get more of your favorite. Nice unique touch. The facility itself is the type of place I'd create if I could. It's a renovated brick 2-story building at the end of a residential block. The tasting room is on the second floor. Two bars, with couches and chairs around the room. Nice vibe. The first floor is where the merchandise and "to go" cans are. When you walk in it's cool to realize the "beer lounge" is upstairs. My wife and I enjoyed the "craic" of our server, Shannen. We felt appreciated and felt like we received good value in the beer and merch we left with. Last comment: Don't be shy of the coffee beers. Really interesting and unique.

I can’t wait to check out the brewery soonI’ve had a few of their brews from local watering holes one in particular was the carton of Pearl I believe it’s called anyway all their beer is very tasty I’ve had the pleasure of running into Augie Carton at a local establishment and conversation briefly about the art of crafting beer I can say I left having learned a few things about what makes the flavors I experience when sampling their brews and he’s a very nice man super knowledgeable about beer and what their doing I got a genuine sense of pride about what he does from him. I’ll be sampling more of their beer for many years to come. Highly recommendI haven’t been to the brewery yet but it’s next on my list !! Great place with great beer. We had a very informative tour which is one of the best we’ve received. Afterwards we headed up to the tap room which was a little small but very cozy. Bar tenders were friendly and knowledgeable and the beer was delicious

Easily one of the coolest breweries on the jersey shore. Their selection is clever, unique, and always tasty. The staff is incredibly cool as well and are always helpful in making sure you get the right brew!

Nice space for tasting a selection of beers. They make a beer for every taste. The beertender was generous. But the set up they have seems a bit more complicated then it needs to be. The chip exchange and the certain drinks that can only be poured in certain amounts can be confusing and I’m sure it makes it harder on the one guy doing the pours.

I went for the first time on April 14th. I was greeted outside by Shannen, one of their amazing employees. He showed my wife and I a few of the offerings they currently had downstairs at the outside patio.He told us about the tasting room upstairs as well, but we really enjoyed being outside. It's rare these days to walk into an establishment and be greeted so kindly by the staff and made to feel like you're a regular customer on your first visit. But Shannen and the rest of the staff we spoke with were amazing and actually introduced us to some of their regular customers and dogs(yes, they are pet friendly).Everything was amazing, and the environment was a perfect place to be after a long week of work, Shannen even recommended a beer I might like and I purchased a 4 pack before I left so I could enjoy some more over the weekend. We will definitely be back to try some more.

Finally got a chance to stop in here. Very happy we did! Great date place. My husband and I each had a flight before catching a movie down the block. Great and interesting crowd. It was fun to chat a bit with others enjoying the great beer. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and it's a cozy room. Can't wait to go back. I get Carton whenever it's on the menu in restaurants so it was really nice to go to the source and try ones I've not had before.

Nice atmosphere excellent beer. my favorites are strong IPAs and this place doesn't disappoint. The only thing I don't like is you can't bring your own food which is why I didn't give it 4 stars.
