I can't believe the way I was just treated by the pharmacies assistant. When I asked for her supervisor he was even ruder to me. 05/04/24 6:40 pm. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me at this store. I'm feeling racially profiled. I will spread this all around this town. Jay Patel was the Pharmacist. He told me that there are plenty other pharmacies that I could go to. I've been coming here for years. I would appreciate if someone higher up would get in touch with me please

Best Rite Aid I've ever been to. They always have great seasonal items, especially now for the holidays. There is a liquor section great for finding something to gift a party host. Pharmacy is fantastic, I've never had problems with it. Medication for things like cold/flu are also always easy to get. I would not want to live in Highland Park without this Rite Aid.

Excellent, well maintained Rite Aid. This branch is also an ok liquor store, with a decent selection of beers, wine and spirits. A bit lacking in the craft beer / IPA department. Good pricing and knowledgeable staff. Worth a visit. Adequate free parking in the rear of the store.

My husband showed up 10 minutes before they closed and they hadn’t gotten the prescription. They worked with my husband and we’re able to fill the prescription 5 minutes before closing. Great!

This RiteAid is really clean and nice looking but the pharmacy is slow and never picks up the phone or has my prescription ready when I get there. It’s weird because it’s never been very crowded when I’ve come so I don’t know why the prescriptions are never ready. Also, last week I came in to buy tampons and there were literally none. Shelves were bare. I don’t understand…

Very strict with I.D. when purchasing alcohol but I do like the GNC selections for people like me who workout and alcohol. 😂 This is ALWAYS my go to place when I lived in Edison.

Unreal with this pharmacy. I was waiting for a prescription that was given 4 hours ago. When I arrived, it wasn’t ready. They told me to wait. Then when I came back after 15 mins, it still wasn’t ready and they wanted me to wait back in line. Absolutely atrocious service. Don’t ever go here!

Decent selection for a town with no Grocery store but be prepared to wait 15-30 mins in line to check out. Please get self checkout or hire more people

This review is strictly for the Pharmacy. The store itself is fine. Please spare yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. The emotional stress I have gone through because of the Pharmacy is just unbelievable.I have been going through a medical process for over a year now, and Rite Aid Highland Park gets all of my scripts.Every time I call / go to the pharmacy, they don't have information about my medication or they give me the wrong information, or they can't fill my meds or the wrong one was filled. If I kept a log book of all the issues I had, it would be pages and pages of it.Today:Please note:The medication I take is time sensitive and is needed for a medical procedure that I am getting done. I told them this but the pharmacy did not care.I called because I paid for my medications on 09/09 (4) and had it delivered. The package seemed to have been lost. Someone at the pharmacy said that it was already picked up by someone on 09/09 and I should have it. Not true. I received tracking information and it said it was in Florida (I live in town). They also hung up on me 2 times. So I called back, someone picked up, I told them that I am trying to get my meds, and she said that it was "not on us to find it, you have to call USPS because they're the ones that lost it". I said right, but if the package is lost how do I get medicine from USPS? I need it from the Pharmacy. She said "there's nothing they can do" I have to call USPS.I then said can't you call my ins and see what you can do to get it refilled since it was you who sent it out and then it got lost? They tried to say they did it right, they don't know what happened but they cant help me.Long story short, Pharmacist said "no we can't help you, we will not call insurance, you do it" and hung up on me.Last time:I'm on auto refill but didn't get a call about my meds. I called and they said my meds was on national back order and they don't know when it would come in. They told me to call my doctor to get different meds ( this is insulin for diabetes, I cant just change what I'm taking).I called the next day to speak to the manager and they said they weren't there (again), and they said that MY doctor actually called and cancelled my script. ( not true because I had a Drs appt that day so I asked her and she said she never called, and yesterday they said it was on back order)The following day, I got a call saying my meds were ready. When I looked on the link they sent to pay, it was for the wrong quantity.I had a 90 day and a monthly. They filled the monthly. I called and said that I need the 90 bc the monthly is an old script and the dosage is no longer correct. They said the same thing. They said my doctor called and cancelled it and I had to speak to my doctor. My doctor said they did not cancel and they ended up having to call a different pharmacy for me and the pharmacy had to call rite aid to transfer the script so that I could get my meds in time without me missing a dose. (Why is this even necessary??)There are countless other times where there was an issue with getting my medication. Where they said ins didn't cover it, and it was not filled but I got a text saying it was ready to be picked up, and I also got the link to pay for it already and I did pay for it! So how is it all of a sudden not covered and not filled.I tried transferring my meds to another pharmacy and that pharmacy said no one was getting back to them for the transfer.I have had the worst experience with Rite Aid Pharmacy specifically in Highland Park. Also, please note that when you call at night no one ever picks up. But they are open.

This is a review for the pharmacy inside this rite aid. It's the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. Sure it's convenient since it's located right in town but something needs to change about how they manage the pharmacy. I have two horrible experiences where they prescribed me a partial medicine because they ran out and then told me they would have the rest the next day. I went the next day and they told me they don't have it and that I'll have to wait another day. Mind you this medication had to be taken with no breaks between each daily course. When I brought this problem up to the pharmacist she had no regards and was so rude. Now a second experience is my 6 month old is prescribed a medicine they don't have it and say they'll have it the next. I call the next day and they say it'll be ready in an hour. My husband goes to pick it up and is told the medicine is on back ordered and not ready. I sent him back in to make sure since I had spoken to someone on the phone that said it'll be ready in an hour. He goes in again and they say it'll be ready in a few minutes. What is going on in this pharmacy? It's a hot mess. Take your business elsewhere!

Rite-Aid in Highland Park is very good if not excellent. I reluctantly give 4 rather than 5 stars if only because the stock has been limited lately though it is Covid rather than Rite-Aid which is responsible; the other reason is the necessity to show a photo ID to prove 21+...even elderly are required. (There used to be hoards of college students buying alcohol here and likely many had bogus IDs).I buy basic necessities here, especially since nearby Stop N Shop cut back hours. There is a reasonably good selection of grocery items. I wish they still sold the omelette wraps in brown wrappers...they were delicious. They carry Thrifty Ice Cream which is the best 👌.I often buy protein drinks and bars here.Holiday items are very good and frequently on sale. I enjoy these, but the only drawback is so many others in town have the same ones. The staff here is invariably very nice and often give me friendly hellos. It is my go-to pharmacy. For me it is ideally located a short walk away.On many occasions I need the men's room and they have one in back.

The Rite Aid pharmacy is a disaster. Messages are left by Doctors and patients and no one checks the voice mail. They are short staffed and completely overwhelmed with long lines waiting for prescriptions all of the time. They tell you the prescription was not sent in until you show electronic proof that it was and then the story changes to the prescription being backordered. And this kind of thing happens all of the time. Just a compete disaster!

I had a prescription sent to this pharmacy. I got there about 30 minutes after they sent it in. Got told it'll be another 30 minutes to an hour. Walked back in after 45 minutes and got told to sit down, they'll start getting it ready now. I've now waited a total of an hour and 30 minutes for a perscription that would be ready in 15 minutes at a CVS or honestly any other rite aid. Absurd. Either tell me a better estimate or just take the pills and put them in the bag instead of moping around.

Prices are actually lower than the grocery store as of June 2022 but you should get their rewards card or it may not be the best price. It’s pretty easy to do. Customers may make the lines annoying but it’s almost always not the fault of the pharmacist (I listened to this customer hold up a long line because she didn’t want to take her pill for the sole reason that it was pink and her pill was supposed to be yellow, like she doesn’t know how generic works I guess). They have food but it’s convenience store type food which is ok because it’s a pharmacy, nice of them to offer food in the first place. They have a big alcohol section which I’ve never tried so I don’t know about it and also I think they have a key copier service which seems cool but I’ve also not used it. The staff are very helpful and generally even tempered. No complaints. They have a sign that they check ID for certain prescriptions but they aren’t rude about it and mostly I don’t see them do it if it’s a returning customer.

This location should be shut down ……. The disrespect from the pharmacy manager is out of control. This pharmacy is dominating this town and other pharmacies have closed down in that past year. That the customer service is none existing. You can call the pharmacy at any time of the day they will never pickup the phone.I have called the corp office to put in a complaint and no one got back to me. This is unacceptable. We are going to have the mayor and the elected officials to look in to this and if rite aid does not address this issue they should revoke there license to operate in this town.

I love that you can buy anything from basic groceries, liquor and get your scripts. Organized store, friendly staff, open late. Pharmacy staff is overwhelmed, no one picks up the phone when you call. They need more people.

Literally the worst pharmacy I have ever been to. There is always a line around the corner, it moves at an impossibly slow pace, and the pharmacist does not seem to know what they’re doing. Also, ever try to call the pharmacy? Well never expect to get an answer! Ever! They never pick up!

For the pharmacists and their assistants, they seem to be doing their jobs really well in spite of very difficult working conditions! They spend the time to get it right - you wouldn’t want your meds so fast someone doesn’t get it right, right? They are working valiantly, even while some customers are berating them! They are still courteous and professional. Some folks complain about them being slow - remember, slow is a good thing - what’s needed is more staff. Obviously, the workers aren’t in charge of that! Management needs to fix that. Another thing the people at the pharmacy counter can’t help is that the phone goes straight to voicemail and the voicemail is always full!! I mean, I have called and called and you can’t get through. My doctor had to mail my Rx to me instead of using the phone! I don’t think the staff are ignoring ringing phones. They are working really hard. It seems like another management issue. The store is well stocked and the store workers are friendly and helpful. I enjoy shopping there. Management seems to be doing okay in that area.

It's a good store. I enjoy their selection and I feel like for the most part the staff is kind, friendly, and fairly cheerful but not overly. The pharmacy staff is helpful, though the line can get long during busy times. Still, it's a reasonable wait because the staff is quick to help each customer. Definitely a solid community pharmacy for us here in Highland Park. Oh, they also have a whole liquor section right inside that is open during daytime hours (not sure on specific liquor store hours).

This Riteaid black personnel has discrimination against Asian people. Twice, I bought beers and the clerk asked me for ID. I am 66 years old. By law, he has right to check ID. But, he can not tell the difference of a 66 year old and 18 year old male. He must have very bad eye vision. I think they did it on purpose for fun and for his super primacy. It happened two times, and all from black attendants. Very rude, ! Other liquor stores never asked me for ID.

Very well pharmacy in a close proximity. The Rite-Aid is very well maintained and clean. Great store to get all of your medication from! One flaw about this store is that it is way too small. The store can be bigger and have a better stock. Also parking is not specifically pointed out if you come to the store for the first time. Overall, this pharmacy is great and I would love to go there again!

I went in for my medicine. I transferred the prescriptions over a week beforehand, and called ahead to see if it was ready, no one answered the phone, so I had to go in person because I had no medicine left. I asked the person at the register if it was ready and they said my other prescriptions had been transferred but not the one I needed so I needed to call my old pharmacy. They told me it had ben transferred and they’d call the pharmacy to get it fixed, and to call them back in a few minutes. I call them back for an update and they said no one answered the phone. I go back to the pharmacy, and now I’m told that my prescription was actually transferred but 1) the previous employee wasn’t a pharmacist/tech, so didn’t know how to handle the system and was only back there because of a rush and 2) my insurance wouldn’t cover it yet because it had been refilled too soon (which it hadn’t). The generic had been put in instead of name brand which my health insurance doesn’t cover (understandable mistake). I then had to wait 2 days for it to even ship to the store. THIS ISN’T THE EMPLOYEES’ FAULT. Please hire/schedule more people in the pharmacy, cause it’s not ideal to spend 3 hours arguing with pharmacy techs in different pharmacies about what prescription is where because you had a cashier who doesn’t know how to handle prescription refills/issues in the pharmacy because your pharmacy is understaffed. Massive waste of your employees’ time, my time, and very disappointing. Do better. The people who did help me were very nice, this rating is about understaffing, which caused these problems in the first place.

PSA: this Rite Aid has boozeI do a double take every time because you don't see that in New Jersey. The staff here are friendly and are happy to assist. The inventory is pretty standard as Rite Aids go. But again, they have beer, wine, and even hard stuff. There is parking in the rear if you can't find parking in the front.

For the pharmacy specifically: Been trying for over a week to get my prescription transferred here. I tried calling, but no one even answered the phone. I tried going in person and they wrote down my old pharmacy information and said they would do it that day, but it never got done. I called again yesterday and was finally able to speak to someone after being on hold for over 15 minutes. Again I gave them my information and they said they would take care of it. Called back the next day (again over 15 minutes trying to talk to someone) only to find out my prescription was not transferred. Now I'm at the point of running out of my medication.

The workers of pharmacy are extremely bad! They don’t pick up phone! When you go to the store, they told me need to wait few hours, so we backed home. They sent me messages it’s out of stock. We went to the store to inquire, they said tomorrow would be ready. But we need for the night. So we asked doctor to give proscriptions to other pharmacy. When we drive to other places to pick up. This rite aid somewhat got the medicine ready! So we had to back to highland park to pick up!! And they never pick up the phone! You can’t contact to them when you really need them! What a irresponsible place! Don’t go this pharmacy!

This location unfortunately happens to be the closest pharmacy to my home, but dear god do I hate each and every interaction I am forced to have here.Despite the fact that my doctor sends in my prescriptions electronically - they of course, never fill these once they are received automatically. I have to call (usually several times as generally no one picks up the phone in the pharmacy for at least a few hours everyday) - then once I finally get someone on the phone, we run through the same song and dance where they can’t find the prescription with my name and birthday and I have to spend atleast 10 minutes assuring them that it is in their system until magically, they find it!Then the real fun starts - it takes a minimum of 6 hours to fill a standard basic prescription. I have full business days of waiting - making me miss doses. If you call - they’ll tell you to give them a few more hours, but of course, when you show up, it won’t be ready. Even when guaranteed it will be ready, it never is, so bring a book and be prepared to wait another 45 minutes in store. I can’t even count the amount of times I have missed my morning train, other appointments, or just my general sanity waiting. I wanted to give them the benefit of a doubt with COVID, and have asked politely if they are struggling with new requirements or demands, leading to the ridiculously poor service, but nope. The clueless rotation of interns/junior pharmacists seem to have no clue, they’d rather spend their time chatting up their coworkers and/or just standing around like lumps on a log than figure out how to provide a reasonable level of service and care for their customers.

First time at this rite aid , and it’s great!! They sell alcohol!! Great craft beer selection and nice selection of cheap wine; seriously, I got a bottle of wine for 5.49. I love this rite aid, when I came in here i had to remind myself I was still in NJ. Plus, the guy at the register with the long brown hair was super cool! Very friendly! Certainly coming back here for alcohol and other items.

A medication I needed for a procedure was added last minute, the day before and called in to my local Rite Aid. Unfortunately the notification that they did not have it came late in the day. My local pharmacy tech found this one did stock it and transferred the script. They filled it and had it ready by 8p. Everyone was kind, considerate and helpful.

Do yourself a favor and get your prescriptions from somewhere else. Their pharmacy dept is dysfunctional and they only check their phones 2x a day so if your doctor calls in a prescription they won’t check their phone special for you unless you press them. You’ll be waiting 30 min +
