Although you will sometimes have to wait in A-line it is definitely worth it. The food is great and the custard Is amazing. Also their wide selection of flavors and the different kinds of Sundae's you can get make it all the better. I highly recommend going here once you go once you will keep coming back.

Very good ice cream, but a little pricey (over $5 for a small). They have a wide variety to choose from, although this place can get crowded in the evenings and they run out of fan favorites fast. Wide selection of both hard and soft ice cream with a variety of seasonal options (blueberry, peach, pumpkin, etc.) i got the banana oreo since they were out of a lot but i was not disappointed.

Amazing home made ice cream! I ordered the pumpkin flavored soft serve and it knocked my socks off! 😆 It is seasonal so definitely get it when you see it! It tastes exactly like a pumpkin pie, not spicy at all 👌

We got an ice cream cake here for our son's party, after our friend recommended it, and it did not disappoint!! First, the cake was gorgeous!! It surprised so many of our friends that it was an icecream cake because of its beauty. And secondly, the cake was delicious. Fudge and crunchies scattered throughout, with a thin sponge cake. Let's just say it was REALLY good. You can tell a lot of heart and years of talent went into it. The young girls working were also very sweet. Thank you!!

I saw a list online of “The best cheesesteaks in NJ” and Royale Crown was listed, this was my family’s FIRST time trying the food here. It was terrible. We ordered take out and got three cheesesteaks and one chicken cheesesteak. The sandwiches were dry, flavorless, and the cheese was just drooped on top of the sandwich and hard as a rock. Our sandwiches were so dry that a pile of sawdust on a roll would’ve been easier to eat. The customer service was awful, I walked inside and went to the counter. Three girls working and it took all three of them to scoop two ice cream cones for the couple ahead of me. When the three girls finally came to the counter all three of them cashed out the couple and walked away when I moved up, the girls working acted like I wasn’t at the counter two feet away from them!! And why does it take a team of three people to handle one transaction??? The girls working wouldn’t look at me or talk to me. I was the only customer there and after 10 minutes of waiting to be greeted I had to wave down one of the employees, who was standing there doing nothing, to let her know I was there to pick up my order. Such a terrible experience, between the gross food and brain dead employees I’ll never come back.

Always passed this place, but heard so much good about it. Well, it lived up to its reputation!! Went for cheesesteak hoagie specifically and the homemade ice cream. Both were some of the best we've ever had. We split the regular cheesesteak, it's that filling!! The only suggestion we would make is to put the cheese on while its cooking on the flat top...philly style. Cheese on top didn't take away from its deliciousness!! The zesty curly fries were a welcome addition too. Again, we split them and there were some left!! For dessert, we had single servings of pumpkin and peach custard! Believe both are seasonal...so us get them now folks!! Very tasty...the pumpkin tasted just like a pie!! Happy to say the prices are reasonable too. We won't be passing this gastro gem anymore 😉 (Pic is half of whole sandwich)

Everything was delicious chicken cheesesteak awesome. The best I’ve had. However one thing I noticed that the servers are wearing gloves but also when ringing you up touching money. Then scooping And every table was dirty. Just because u wear gloves ur still not sanitized !!!!! But all in all. Food n ice cream is fabulous

Notified staff of Incorrect topping on expensive banana split and all the worker did was stare . Not the first time not afforded a reply instead of a blank look.. I then asked for alittle water and I was told there is a charge. This business has never been customer friendly and that is why I have chosen to finally comment. Customers treated like an assembly line. If pride isn't taken face to face then I can't imagine what goes on behind the scenes.

Royale Crown rules. The blueberry soft serve tastes better than blueberry pie. I've tried probably a dozen different flavors of the hand scooped and the next time I have one that isn't incredible will be the first.This was the semi-ridiculous trip we had to take while my wife was pregnant. 40 minutes, past at least five other ice cream shops. Worth it every time.

Excellent homemade ice cream. Best flavor is peanut butter oreo, but they run out of this flavor constantly. GREAT sandwichs. I would like to buy an answering machine for them, so when you call them, they could give you the store hours, which are all over the map. They have been there since the ‘50s, but I think they are still living in the ‘50s. At least list the hours on Facebook. It’s not that hard.

Royal Crown has some of the best ice cream in the area. From their chocolate and vanilla custard to their homemade ice cream. The seasonal strawberry custard is delicious as well.I know the blueberry custard is popular and myself and both of my daughters tried it recently after stopping in and seeing so many customers getting it. All three of us didn't care for it. We all thought it oddly tasted like it had a pumpkin spice flavor which overshadowed any alleged blueberry flavor.

Amazing chocolate ice cream. Very rich and creamy. Absolutely one of the best, if not the best ice cream I have ever had! This is homemade at its best. My husband had the pumpkin pie pecan which was also absolutely fantastic! Tasted just like pumpkin pie. I will be back here every time I make a trip to the NJ shore! Service was also good.

Below is my original 1 star review:Google said they were open until 10:30 on Sunday night. We drove 20 minutes to get there, but they had closed at 10. On the way home, I called at 10:15 to let them know about the error which may or may not have been their fault. The woman who answered told me, “Well Google is wrong, we’re closed. Goodbye.” A better answer might have been, “I’m not sure why Google says that, we close at 10. I’m really sorry you drove all that way”.Our other experience earlier this year was wonderful. Great product and service on opening day.I am updating this review after 4 years of wonderful experiences at Royale Crown. This family-owned business has become our go-to place for great home-made ice cream. Their product and service are nothing short of spectacular. I am so glad we continued to visit after the one frustrating experience noted above.

ok ok i see all these comments about poor service and bad ice cream and i just had to come on here and write a review to clear the air. This place is the best around. the blueberry ice cream is certainly not all cinnamon as one person claimed.... that actually absurd! i adore their ice cream, especially the blueberry and cream which has a HINT of cinnamon and a wonderful blueberry flavor. Do yourself a favor and find out for yourself how great this place is. its worth the long line if there is one.

I called to make sure that they had blueberry ice cream, they did. My husband and I got in the car and drove the HOUR down there. Ordered my soft serve blueberry ice cream, no problem, they of course took my money. At the pickup window, they call out the person in front of me and tell them they have no hard blueberry ice cream left and did they want soft, of course they did! That's why people drive down there! My order comes up and they all of a sudden have no soft or hard blueberry ice cream!!! That is why we drove down there!!! They gave me some sweet cream blueberry ice cream that was not at all what I wanted. As I'm sitting at the table eating what I don't want at all, I see a guy walk away with a blueberry soft serve, NOT EVEN 10 MINUTES AFTER THEY TOLD ME THEY HAD NONE!! I guess they made more, but NEVER offered me to wait or my money back! I will NEVER go back there again, and I will be sure to let everyone I know about your deceitful business!

My wife and I drove from almost an hour away for their renown blueberry ice cream. After ordering and paying, when it was our turn to pick up, we were told they were out of soft serve. Offered a sweet cream and blueberries. Sounded close enough. Wrong. Even worse, 15 minutes after we received our order, another customer had ordered the same product my wife was told they were out of. To our surprise, he received his order. Other than that bad experience, seemed like a decent on your way to the shore ice cream shop.

I recently visited this ice cream place, that was highly recommended and literally down the street from our home. My wife always raged about it. I brought my wife and 2 kids, to get ice cream here ad experienced the worst customer service ever. The young girl was unfriendly and looked mad. We were so excited, especially the kids, and she really ruined our experience. The ice cream was nothing to die for either. Nothing that I got seemed fresh. I would never visit again. Please if your are serving or you work in retail be friendly, we are paying for what we are asking for. It’s not hard to be kind.

Fantastic sandwiches, but there homemade ice cream is the best. Blueberry, blackberry, their pistachio graziano is amazing. The food is all made to order. If you do not call your order in, please be patient. But well worth the wait. You will not be disappointed!

Delicious! Royal Crown is a Hammonton tradition, and I make sure to visit every time I'm in NJ in the summer. My buffalo chicken cheese steak was cooked perfectly and their Hammonton blueberry ice cream was a tasty as always.

This place came highly recommended. I was disappointed that they didn't have the blueberry ice cream or a web site that tells you what they have each day. We drive 30 minutes because this place came so highly recommended and the ice cream was good but the service was not. They offer sundaes and milkshakes but they only have the ice cream flavors listed on the window. I understand we can not go in because of covid but you need to advertise what you have and the prices. Also, my daughter ordered ice cream with whipcream and a cherry and she didnt get the whip or the cherry and when i said something, the girl said she couldn't take it back to add it. I understand that so then make a new one? I paid the extra for the whip and cherry and we never received it. I may give this place a second chance only because the ice cream was good.

It was nice to see a place that is still in business since 1953.. the custard was good only draw back was it was not clean the tables were sticky n dirty. No garbage pails to throw away your cup, spoon n napkins there were napkins on the floor n the floor needed to be washed. But the custard was good.
