I’m so happy with my experience here. I have a nervous rough collie (like Lassie), who can be very difficult to groom because of his long hair and thick double coat. The price was very fair, and my dog has never looked better or felt softer. Booked another appointment before I was even out the door. 10 out of 10.

Walked in to do the bath myself . Chris was cool enough to take over and last minute give my dozer an amazing spa day . He was very loving to my pitbull , thanks again !! We’ll be back ! Awesome service .

Update Jun 2023:Love working with the new owners Lisa and Chris! We were worried when Lori retired, but if anything, our Sammy is even happier now.______Our dog Samson is scared of grooming, and we tried a number of groomers in the area with no good results. Then we found Lori at scrub a dub doggie. She had the patience and the skill to really change our dog's experience, and we are deeply thankful. Great work at a reasonable price as well!

Warning! Do not bring your dog here! We had been using this business for years when Lori owned it. My dogs always loved going to see Lori, and she treated my dogs like her own. The new owners are not to be trusted I will never bring my dogs there again. They called me to go pick up my dog. When I walked in the husband was drying a small dog on a table being held by a collar around its neck. The dog stepped off the table and was being hung by the collar while the man groomer had his head turned away from the dog watching his phone which was propped up. I yelled, but he did not hear me, and then the small dog fell to the ground. I then yelled louder, and he then turned, saw the dog on the ground, picked it up and put it in a crate. He then came over to me like nothing happened. At that point the woman came out and I explained what happened. She simply stated that accidents happen, and she understood why I was upset. If you are being paid to do a job, that is what you should be doing, not watching your phone with no attention being directed at someones beloved pet. I had brought 2 dogs to be groomed, and at that point I just said give me both my dogs. She did not charge me, but I can never trust that they would care for dogs properly.

I called to make an appointment for a nail trimming, only to be told I don’t need an appointment. I drove over within 10 minutes, but no one was at the desk. I waited for 5 minutes after ringing the help bell, with no sign of anyone there. It was so hot in the lobby that I had to step outside as my dog was panting within those few minutes and I was sweating. I called again while at the store and no one answered. I entered the store a second time and still no response. It was too hot for us to wait inside any longer so I just left. I would have gladly made an appointment if they were busy, but that’s not what I was told and there was no one there to help me.

Very bad experience. They cut our poodle under his ear, never bothered to tell us, which is inexcusable and one week later, he has a scab on his ear that is almost two inches large. Needless to say, we will not ever return to Scrub a Dub Doggie.

Never had a bad experience. Our dogs don't get groomed but rather we bathe them ourselves. Lori and her team are always accommodating and kind. When my pups need their nails done she is always patient so they are never frightened. She also knows a ton about dogs! Love it here!

The owner Lori and her assistant Patti were extremely kind and handled my Xl breed dog with such great care and professionalism. They also feature a self service dog wash station with full access to their grooming tools and drying tools the groomer will also come clip the dogs nails when you’re finished which is great! The facility is very homey and immediately felt comfortable leaving my dog in their hands. Their prices are very reasonable and i believe the self bathing rates go by weight of the dog. They have a wide variety of treats that are all healthy for dogs and their prices are unbeatable for some products. I highly recommend this grooming place to anyone.

Called ahead to ask for pricing. On the phone they said $30 per dog, I have 2 (so it should have been $60) so I made an appointment. After I dropped my dogs off they told me it would take them 2 hrs for them to give them both a bath, it seemed odd to me, I have never heard of grooming taking this long, but figured maybe they do a more in depth job. When I came back to pick up my dogs the bill came out to $84..... was pretty upset. I get my dogs home and they are WILD, doing behaviors they have never done before, and my 1 dog has a large fresh scratch on the inside of his leg. I called the place back to try to figure out what happened while they were there and they were pretty nonchalant about the situation saying nothing happened. I have taken my dogs to other grooming places, have had them boarded at other places before and they have been around other dogs and they have never come back to us like this! Do not take your dogs to this place!

Found this place after i heard the news speaking on rumors from petsmart. My poodle was very matted and she had to shave him but she did an excellent job and he still looks good for his mommy's birthday party. I saw another recently groomed dog in town and inquired. She did a great job at an excellent price. Will be returning.

Don't take your dogs here. They abuse them. One poor dog almost hung himself because the owner was on his phone instead of wstching the dog and left the dog on the drying table and the dog fell off leaving the dog hanging by its collar.

The younger woman upfront was friendly but the older woman who cut my dogs nails was very sarcastic and unprofessional. She ended up cutting his dew nail to short with blood droplets on the floor, and only noticed because attention was brought to it. I understand that it can happen (dogs getting accidentally cut/bleeding from moving around) but her rude comments where very uncomfortable and extremely unnecessary. She didn’t even slightly apologize for cutting him. We will not be returning and are sad this happened because we had high hopes from seeing an almost 5 star review on their page. I rather pay more for a nail trim else where and see my dog be treated well then come back here.

Totally thrilled!! It was my first time getting a dog groomed and my boy is fearful of baths. I was scared to see the outcome but Lori was very patient him and when Riggs walked thru the gate I couldn't believe my eyes, my boy was calm and sooooo handsome! The cut is perfect! Thank you again we'll be back for sure!!

Had a great experience using the self-wash. Staff was friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. Towels, shampoo, brush, apron and dryer were all provided. I will certainly be back!

This is Copper's 1st visit with the new owner, Lisa. She was very comfortable when she went in and she warmed up to Lisa and her coworker, Chris, very quickly. She's getting a full groom done today but I'm very comfortable with the whole process and I'm sure she's going to look beautiful when she's done.

Lori has cared for all my dogs. I have always been very pleased with the grooming. It is a nice friendly business to use right in Hackettstown. Lori is very knowledgeable about all things pets. I always highly recommend Scrub-A-Dub Doggie.

I called to make an appointment and the new owner was very rude on the phone and then rude when we brought my dog there and was screaming at other people on the phone. Doesn’t seem like they have patience for anyone and have a lot of attitude.

I never write reviews especially bad ones but i had Horrible experience here my dog is traumatized after taking her to this place I truly mean traumatized she had her tongue clipped for one but she has been freaking out since than overall completely different behavior from then on I have been talking her to a different place before and since Her groomer was away that time i didn’t have a choice but to try here which was the biggest mistake everI also heard they smack the dogs tooWould not recommend to anyone from my personal experience I only shared my experience thats all

Very disappointing experience and will never go back. I was very specific about the type of haircut I wanted and did not get it. Worse haircut my dog has ever received not to mention poor customer service and rudeness. I should have listened when my friend told me not to go there!!
