So I work in Hackensack and this location I find it convenient for whatever I might need groceries at the time I came here today after work to place a pull a part cupcake order for my kindergarten daughters birthday at school and was told that each cupcake is $2 and I was extras shocked because every year I purchase cupcakes for my kids school and as I was shocked, I told the lady at the bakery that that was crazy and her reply was that she doesn’t make the prices let alone on my way home, stop by at the Kearny ShopRite where I go every year and I literally paid 4499 for 30 pull apart cupcakes and this lady had quoted me $120 without the design !!!!! I now know where not to place a cup cake order for my children sucks because I have to make an extra stop at another location when I have the one right next to my job

As of the second week of December 2023 Hackensack ShopRite has removed the tables and chairs from the bakery area !!!! 😡 Seniors with medical issues, such as myself, used them regularly to take a break while shopping in the store ! Just one example of many businesses becoming customer "UN-FRIENDLY" in different ways.....1/31/24 confronted regional manager and two store managers today asking about removal of the tables and chairs . LIED and said they don't know what happened! There's no way a regional manager and store manager know nothing about the removal! It's a testament to their lack of moral character that they would lie immediately instead of just telling the truth about why they were removed and haven't been brought back.

I've been a ShopRite customer for a long time, and today I went to the Hackensack location. Because it is convenient, I have been using the store for all groceries. fantastic supermarket Despite the fact that Hmart opened up nearby and it is clearly beginning to show its age, the store itself and all of the workers are excellent.

The manager Benjamin is terrible! He is unreasonable untalented just follows orders like a robot, doesn't respect anyone who disagrees with him. He needs more training especially being humble and understanding. He is absolutely ridiculous! Next manager please! I will never go back to this store!

Love it here. Came to put in a catering order and net the manager Rob since I had a few questions. He was very nice and helped point me in the right direction. Diane in food service was also very helpful and the sweet lady in the front was gracious enough to offer me help as well. The supermarket is layed out well and very clean which I noticed right away. I ordered 3 ft heroes, penne a la vodka and a fruit platter. Everyone loves everything. Will definitely be back for future orders

My favorite supermarket with excellent products and cheap prices. I usually get the bowl and basket Greek olives and Athena olive oil extra virgin. Also their vegetables are fresh and cheap

Today I went to this place.because I want get some medicine.but the female staff member took away the medicine I was looking at saying she couldn’t tidy up here all day. It really annoyed me.the elderly female staff member who seemed irritated by something someone else had messed up elsewhere , took it out on me.i went to buy something and encouraged this absurd situation. This shop really need improvement in its staff.most of them seem irritable creating a depressing atmosphere.is there any reason to go to a place where they are rude even when I spend my money.the staff at this place have shown no improvement for a long time.today’s 1/26/2024 time around 12:15.

This place used to be good. Now the workers just don't care. I ordered sweet potatoes 🥔 for Thanksgiving, which is today, as I am not feeling well to begin with, I have to deal with a rotten bag of sweet potatoes. I have all my groceries delivered and order online. The shopper who picked these up clearly knew the bag was rotten . I left in the bag n put away for today. Yes I should have looked.!! Shame on me..Next time I will can't rely on anyone..DisgustingOn that noteHappy Thanksgiving 👨Everyone

This place used to be good but it went downhill A few years ago and now it will be my last time coming here. First of all some of the food is moldy I bought a loaf of bread and it turned out moldy and the bananas look disgusting and and also there are some rude staff and also I seen some reviews in google maps above this place and the response is always this “we will make sure that staff and quality is better next time”. but nothing changes so don’t grocery shop here!

Today is Sunday February 18 2024. I stopped in at the shop rite in Hackensack NJ as I came into the main door and pasted through the must buy junk area I noticed a couple of pallets of Poland spring 24 bottle cases. I was shocked to see that a 24 bottle case for sale is $6.99 each. Walmart sell a case of 35 bottles of Poland spring for one penny less at $6.98 verses shop rite's price that's 11 bottles more at Walmart for 1 penny less. This is one of the reason supermarkets raise their prices each week because supermarkets know people don't look at the prices people simply only look at the product. Plus I was told by the person who works in this shop rite supermarket next to the Poland spring water that Poland spring pays shop rite floor space to put these pallets on the floor. So as far as I can shop rite is making a killing of profits from just Poland spring 24 cases plus extra floor rental space money. I've been buying my Poland spring water of 35 bottles per case for the past 6 years at Walmart also the 2 1/2 gallon Poland spring water bottles are $4.38 at Walmart. Everything in shop rite is too expensive for me to buy. I only go shopping there when I need cold cuts and I never buy that Black Bear cold cut stuff it's too expensive and taste the same as bowl and basket brand. (What a horrible name for a supermarket to call their own brand Bowl and Basket) PS I buy my 2 % milk at Aldi it's $2.17 verses shop rite I think it's $2.79 and it may come from the same dairy plant as Aldi, Walmart, stop and shop and othe outlets. My frisky cat can food from Walmart 88 cents a can. Shop Rite you're no longer my favorite neighborhood supermarket.

I purchased 6 bags of bask and bowel mild cheddar cheese shredded….. I don’t know what the hell is going on with this cheese but it does not MELT!! I made a party size pan of ziti and it was completely ruined ! I had it in the oven for 1 hour and the cheese DOES NOT MELT ! It just gets hard and burns. That is completely ridiculous. And that makes me reconsider buying this brand because the cheese might not be real cheese …… stop selling this cheese because it does not melt

If I could give this place zero stars I would . First the lady was rude , she was like a manager or something , she was a short black lady with a short weave and a black hat with purplish lipstick . She was so rude !!!! Screaming at us to get on another line . When we start walking to the line she’s still screaming . We get to the register and start to pay and we use our coupons she didn’t want to do her job and press a button they have to press every time the cashier scanned a coupon. So we gets mad at the third coupon comes to the register and starts screaming at my husband and giving these disgusting faces and gestures . So we politely ask her about why we can’t use anymore of our coupons and she replies with because we have a lot . My husband told her we are allowed to use more than 1 and she starts screaming saying he’s a scammer and that he can’t use any more . I think that was very unprofessional and uncalled for . She made a show and was acting so ghetto . I don’t know how she still works there the way she talks to people and treats customers . I wish I got her name . You’ll know it’s her from the faces and screaming and rude way she speaks . Stay away from this ShopRite .

ShopRite from home is horrible here. Came to get my order early and they said they can’t do that which is a lie because it’s been done before. Also the customer service, holiday cheer & professionalism was tremendous from the home shopper lanelle. I spoke to her manager mr benjamin and he wasn’t much help either. Claiming he will talk to her about her deliverance and I can hear her talking about other customers and etc.Hire people who want to do their job and HELP!!!! Good customer service goes a long way because you don’t know who you’re dealing with.

Love how it’s always clean, I wish they would be more on top of the recalls rather than wait for you to be a checkout for it to inform you that the item is recalled. Staff is usually friendly, usually walking around but not always found. I love how they have a decent sized Goya isle, i wish they would have a bit more things so I wouldn’t have to make so many different grocery store trips in one day... but ah least they have the options they do offer.This location has a great amount of cleaning supplies in these times that’s a huge shocker!! Totally grateful for that!!

Pretty good shop rite, massive selection of goods in store, cashier was uptight- apparently one shopper cart per day, meaning you can’t let your friend use your shopper card- very odd!Get the app, tons of digital coupons!

Not terribly impressed with this particular Shop Rite. Produce section is...ok. Selection on shelves has improved. Cleanliness has also improved. Hard to find staff in the floor. I honestly drive past this store to go to a different Shop Rite most of the time.

ShopRite from home is absolutely dismal here. Every single time I place an order there is an issue. I’ve had to cancel my order after the scheduled time because they never did it multiple times. It’s like they ignore the orders or something. And good luck calling them for help. You have to actually go in to the store to do anything. Waste of time and energy.

Purchased food from here. Specifically ingredients to make a pizza. Everything seemed good at first until I realized that the bread for the pizza was already molded. There was no way to see if it’s moldy due to their packaging. Waste of money and not sure how this establishment would keep moldy food stocked up in the shelves for purchase. Definitely a health hazard.To anyone reading, keep an eye out on the food you purchase here or reconsider your go to grocery store.

So...yesterday 6/20/2023 I called Shoprite to inquire if they have corn and also the price.... whoever answered the phone put me on hold for 4mins and 54secs...I was then transferred to the produced department and told "yes we do have corn, but I don't know for how much longer" ..I then asked the price and was told "39 cents but when you use your shoprite card it'll be 19 cents"! OK!!! ..I was really liking this, cause my kids and husband loves corn...so, we always look forward to Shoprite's corn ..especially when it's on sale.. who won't? Anyways... I drove half an hour to the River Street Hackensack location where I've been shopping for the past 25 years... went straight to the produce/corn ... shelled 12 corn ..I also got some green bananas, onions and bagels.. went to terminal #1 cashier's name MARILYN .. she proceeded with my items.. corn first, I had 6 corn per bag a total of 2 bags .. when I saw 6 corns for $4.50 ...I stopped her to inquire why?.. she then told me it's 4 corn for $3.00 ... I told her "no".. I explained how I called before I came etc.. she then proceeded to her "shoprite news paper which had the on sale items".. she then saw on the paper 39 cents per corn.. so I said to her.."yes 39 cents per corn before the shoprite card discount ..then it''ll be 19 cents as per your produce department"! btw..(MARILYN is very rude and unfriendly)OMG ... MARILYN didn't want to give me the price as per the "produce person" I spoke to prior to my getting there. I asked to speak to a supervisor or manager .. sad to say I don't remember the names of the supervisor who was despicable to me and also the manager who came from up above the lotto department who was of no help nor seemed like she wanted to help .. they never introduced themselves nor say their names.I left shoprite without the corn that I had shelled which was a lot of work, supervisor nor manager wanted to help.... I just said "ok, thank you".As I got outdoors ..I thought about my kids ...how disappointed they'd be....so I decided to call shoprite's number one more time.... only to be triple time disappointed!!! ... he did NOTHING!!!Shoprite River Street Hackensack WAS a delight to do my shopping....NOT ANYMORE.

This location is decent in comparison to the surrounding, local, sister franchises. Sale items are regularly in stock, associates and customer service desk are helpful and friendly. Facilities are clean as is their bathroom. Nice place to shop, always good deals available!
