This store is amazing the staff is amazing!!! They are very helpful and kind and always remind us when we have prescriptions, our RX are done in a timely manner. The staff are friendly and always make my kids smile. Well done Rite Aid Hackensack and the pharmacy staff!!!

Rite Aid pharmacy communicated to me about the delay in vaccine. While I was a little upset, they kept me updated and let me know as soon as it arrived. Thank you to the hard-working pharmacists and their helpers.The pharmacy was fairly quick in fulfilling my needs which was vaccination.

I love going to this pharmacy!! The staff are so welcoming, Doris & Sue are very knowledgable and THE BEST to get vaccines from! Their hands are so gentle, it DOESNT HURTAngie, Sofia & the rest of their techs are super sweet, efficient & welcoming.Lots of love for this pharmacy, I hope they stay around forever 💗

What a shame so many Rite Aid stores are closing. This Rite Aid better NOT !!! By far the most amazing pharmacy I've ever seen. Debbie, Sue, Doris and the staff are not only knowledgeable about each medication, they are kind, fast, and exceptional at theirprofession. They are always ready to take the time to explain each medicine and it's effects. I dont know what I'd do without them. If only all stores had such helpful staff. I have been to CVS and other pharmacy stores, they are a nightmare! This Pharmacy is the best!

I have shopped at Rite-Aid on Essex Street in Hackensack, NJ, for about 20 years and been consistently impressed by the knowledge, friendliness and service of the pharmacy staff. They have fulfilled and refilled many prescriptions for me and provided a wide variety of vaccinations to keep me healthy. The store is conveniently located on major roads -- just a block away from the Hackensack Meridian Medical Center. Rite-Aid should be proud of this store. It is an important community healthcare service for clients like me.

I never leave a review but I’m so disappointed because the customer service is so bad, the manager is a very rude person, I went to buy a medicine for flu, she requested my ID, I give to her and even with that on her hand she doesn’t want to sell me because she think I’m no adult and she said tag ID is fake.Come one, I’m not blame for have 30 and look as a teenager. I have not to explain to her.

Reliable pharmacy and all the items you expect in a major drug store. Store portion is 24 hours 7days, and pharmacy 8 Am - 10 pm M-F and 9 Am - 8 PM Sat-Sun. Has a photo center. I've always had a good experience with the pharmacy. There's a drive-thru window for the pharmacy. Checkout can often be tedious because of coupons. Good covid safety practices.

By far the best pharmacy I have ever dealt with. Sue, Doris and Debbie have a level of knowledge and professionalism that I rarely see in today's world. From medicine advice to vaccines, they have taken care of me and my family for years. Even though they are a large business, they treat you like an old time, small town, family run pharmacy. If this isn't your pharmacy, then switch!

I love the staff at the pharmacy! They’re very efficient & always have a positive attitude. They definitely know how to work as a team & seeing them happy & being attentive/patient with customers brightens my day! They’re always working hard they deserve a raise!

I live up the block from here. I visit whenever I NEED something, last minute items or just browsing for something to buy at random. Unfortunately, some of the cashiers at different times of day or night can be a bit "off". I've had different encounters with different cashiers. I even remember Eric, he was the nicest and most pleasant customer service provider there. But doesn't work there anymore. Sad. But there is always an issue with long lines being held up because of customers constantly holding up the line or the cashiers not being knowledgeable on what is on hand in the store. It almost feels like Wal-Mart...open 24/7 but nobody who works there knows anything about their own products or where to find them if they do. 🤷‍♀️ I would suggest training your staff properly in understanding the different products you sell or when sales come up. Seeing all the reviews before me...eeh! I cannot disagree with some of them. Some people shouldn't work there if they look like they're mentally disturbed or on something. I work in retail and the worst I've looked is tired. That's it. Not high or like I'm aggressive. Change your system. It will do wonders with customers. It's a pharmacy and a convenience store...stop making it more difficult than it needs to be. Learn patience, as well.

I had a COVID test for travel within a 72 hour window. I took the test 60 hours before. They forgot to send the test out and I had to call and find out where my results were. That’s when I discovered they were not sent out. Now I have 15 hours before my flight to find somewhere to get a PCR test ASAP. All the pharmacy employee could say, try a CityMD. They do them immediately. But they cost $150!Insane! Stay away!

Awful customer service! Don’t know the name of the cashier who was working today (5/1) at noon but she is rude and racist. This is the third time I’ve encountered her and had a terrible experience. I walked up to her, said hi as I handed my items over and she said nothing. I said thanks as I was leaving and she didn’t acknowledge me. The white man in the queue behind me walks up after me and she greets him in a hearty tone “hi, how are you doing”. Again, not my first encounter with her - she did the exact same thing to me and my husband the last time we visited the store. I will not be returning - I’d rather pop to the CVS across the road!

I have truly tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt so let me categorize it by the pros and cons.Pros: 1.Some of the new staff are friendly. To emphasize, when I say “friendly” it doesn’t necessarily mean one has to strike up a conversation with the customer. It is, after all, a place of business. However, a friendly greeting is important to customer service and since they ask you to give them reviews on their website regarding customer service, I believe these qualities are important.2. The Pharmacy department has gotten better with customer service and one individual in particular there, a young man, tries his best to assist you with any questions regarding your order.Now…to the Cons:Cons: A cashier (older Caucasian female) got irritated with me ordering and I quote “so many things”. She believed my order was too much and proceeded to let out a sigh of frustration. My order consisted of 12 things and she wasn’t happy. Yes…only 12. Furthermore when I went back three days later, (this was around April 15), I saw her watching me putting things into my cart, apparently thinking that I was going to order “too many” things again .2. The availability of things is really disappointing. It’s like they only put out two or three things at a time. I don’t quite understand the logic of that.3. There really needs to be better structure on where things are placed and also we don’t need to be seeing things spread out on the floor as staff is packing them.Overall because they are a 24 hrs store, if you want to make a quick in and out, you can go in and if you find what you need, then yayyy! Congratulations! 😁😁

Absolutely the worst customer service, I have experienced. I asked how much two outdoor chairs were that had a 50% off clearance sticker on both of them but no price. The cashier/floor monitor walks over to the chairs and rips off the clearance sticker and then says not for sale. With no further explanation. If they are not for sale or someone brought them why not put a note on them "not for sale". Mind you the chairs have been sitting there for weeks with the same tags on them. I never had the space in my car to get them when I originally saw them on sale. I asked to speak with the manager, she says, she is in aisle 8. What kind of customer service is that for a paying customer? The manager never came over until, we asked again to speak with a manager. She finally pops her head out of aisle 8 and says they are not for sale, they were returns that we cannot find in the system. So again why would they have a clearance sign on them and how were you able to return them? Just make it all make sense because it makes absolutely none to me. CVS is the way to go! Especially if you are in Hackensack.

Cashier Maria must be the slowest cashier in that store. She almost looked she was high. There were at least 10 customer was on the register line and she could not care less about it. I really hated this store. Why do they always have to pick the worse possible person to hire for this kind of job?!

The worst store I have ever been to. No wonder they have such a low rating. Store 24 hours but not the pharmacy so now hospital discharges me with prescriptions for medication for kidney stones. The pharmacy open at 8.15am when suppose to be 8am. They say 15min yet I been waiting for an hour now it's ridiculous like the owner must not care at all!!!!! NEVER COMING BACK!!!!

Rite Aide, Essex street, Hackensack is a very dedicated team that maintains a very clean, well stocked, list of inventory that can be called a One-stop shop & is Open 24/7. The Pharmacy is very busy at all times & I have been going there for all my Otc, and medications when needed. They provide a tight run ship, and do their best to fulfill everyone's needs. In a fast paced business due to high volume, customers look for excellent service. As with mostly everything, you need to have patience, when dropping off, picking up at the pharmacy. If you ask the Pharmacy properly you will get good service. Thank you Rite-Aide! Essex street. Mateo

Scheduled a covid test and went through the drive through. No one was there. Went around the building a few times in case I missed something. When I called I was hung up on without a word when I finally got through the automated system. Since I could not get ahold of the people doing the testing, I went home. There is not a reschedule or cancel option on the website, so I would have had to made a new account with their surprisingly many forms again to schedule a new test. In the end I drove an extra 20 minutes away from home to go elsewhere, because it was easier.

This store keeps getting WORSE!!!The pharmacy ignore social distancing and calls up other customers while you are being helped that don't even have a mask on. They are playing with my life now.What a disappointment. They have a poor quality, disrespectful and inept staff. Kept me waiting for 40 minutes to get a flu shot. I arrived to get a flu shot and no customers were in the pharmacy area. While I was filling out the form others came in. Then they took 2 people that came in after me.I asked why they are making me wait and they came up with just a bunch of lies and excuses. Not one person apologized for making a mistake, the extended wait and forgetting to take me.Too bad I can't order a flu shot on Amazon. Good example of why retail is dying. Now I know why the other chains have a lot more locations.Go elsewhere, there is a CVS just a few blocks away.

Use CVS instead. Their COVID testing is really unreliable. My partner and I took the test together 3 days before our trip. He got his results and I never got mine. Every email we got said 1-3 days. All of a sudden I call and it’s up to 5 days. So we drove from NJ to the border with Canada only to have to drive all the way back. The test to get in has to be within 72 hrs so even if I get mine now it’s garbage. They do their testing thru Project Baseline. Utter trash.

Horrible! They take forever to fill up prescription. Rude, and not caring about the customers. For refills they are the worst as well. Do not call to tell you your refills are up, you must call before hand to make sure they refill them and even after that they take their sweet time. WORST pharmacy ever! AND FORGET about the drive-thru, they will tell you to come back in an hr for your meds.

The service is always slow. You stay on line for a good twenty minutes with just two people ahead of you, with barely anything in their hands. To add, the pharmacy staff is utterly useless. We have had prescriptions faxed over for about 8 months. In that time spand, with the same insurance, every visit, the prescription would’ve been faxed. We have to call to see if it got there, they say, “yes.” Then, we wait. We call again, and they “Don’t have the birth date, don’t have the insurance information on file.” So it’s already two days wasted!!!!! This is ridiculous. I was holding off on a review but this is the 6th time it’s happened to us. The majority of the time, the pharmacy doesn’t have things on stock. The flu, the flu is common. Be proactive and always have the orders. Go to another location, or store chain, save yourself the time and the headache. Let’s not get started on how the pharmacist are all rude, never own up to the mistakes, aren’t knowledgeable, and do not help diffuse the situation they started.
