The staff at this place is extremely nice. The lady who handles appointments is super kind. Corrie is an amazing groomer at the Dog Spaw in Freehold. She listens to what I want for my pups cut (even if I change it from the time before) and she does an amazing job. My doodle comes back so soft with a beautiful cut. She works hard and it shows! Remember if you want a good grooming for your dog, you need to pay for it so while the prices may seem high for this location, it is worth it for the quality of work. A heads up that they do book out a few months in advance, so be patient with getting an appointment. You won’t be disappointed once you get one! If you get to choose your groomer, I highly recommend Corrie! PS also love that they always give you a cute bandana for the season/holiday

I’ve been taking my pug Peaches to The Dog Spaw for over a year now and every time she goes it’s a great experience! It’s clean, always smells great inside, and each dog is kept in their own private area. Having a dog with a lot of anxiety around new people, I was beyond happy to see Peaches excited to go to her grooming appointment every time. It really goes to show how well they treat the dogs there. Neila is always professional and treats Peaches with an abundance of love. The Dog Spaw has gained a lifelong customer out of me!

I moved to Freehold almost 10 years ago. After about a year of trying different groomers I came upon the Dog Spaw. From the very 1st visit I was impressed with their courtesy and professionalism.Chrissy has been grooming them for about 6 years, she’s amazing and when I tell my girls that they’re going to see Chrissy, they get so excited…..Thank you Dog Spaw for everything!!

I love everything about The Dog Spaw! The staff is so friendly and the groomers are amazing at what they do. My dog’s been going to Kim for 2 years now and we love her! We also love the spacious dog runs instead of cages and the awesome selection of retail products & doggie snacks. I refer everyone here!

The Dog Spaw is absolutely amazing! The place is clean, and smells good! Which is surprising for a grooming salon. I've only ever left my dog with Neila or Kim who are both wonderful! The whole staff is very nice and you can tell they all care so much about the dogs they see!

I called the Dog Spaw about my large Pitbull going there. The lady who answered the phone was very polite and attentive to my dogs special needs. My dog was never given a bath outside home. His dog dad was frantic about leaving him for two hours. We were worried that he wasn’t going to cooperate enough to get his nails done.We were greeted at the front door by the staff. We checked back in to make sure everything was going smoothly. He strolls out of the grooming room with Corrie and was so relaxed and handsome with his bandana on. We love the Dog Spaw and have been bringing our 7-year old mini goldendoodle here for regular grooming the past few years. Our pup is very nervous in this type of environment but Crissy and the staff always make him feel comfortable and we know he's in the best of hands. Thank you for treating our pup so well and making him look so handsome! We had a grooming on 12/19 and Crissy gave him the cutest paw print ornament for Christmas. So very thoughtful and kind. This place goes above and beyond always!!

Twinkie and I love the Dog Spaw. As soon as I tell her she is going to get her nails cut she jumps right into her carrier.Everyone there is so pleasant and the atmosphere is very uplifting.I would highly recommend this groomer for anyone that is searching for one.🐕‍ 🐕 🐩🐶🐾

Very disrespectful staff. They were very disrespectful to my mother for no reason than being five minutes late. Then they didn’t even do the service they offered and tried to up charge for no reason. You would think people who care for our pets would have more compassion. If they can’t treat humans with respect, how do you think they’re treating your dogs !

We took our 8yr old puppy here today, he loved the pampering and the oatmeal bath. It’s been hard not being able to take him anywhere to even get his nails clipped, so when we found out that Dog Spaw was open, we got him an appointment, they were even able to take him earlier than his original appointment. We are so grateful to everyone there. They are just awesome!

Called here in low hopes I’d get a last minute apt for my dog for that moment and they had a cancellation and put her in no issue! Her hair was super grown out, they cut her amazing not a lot of people cut aussies hair correctly but they did it perfectly. Being her apt was last minute it ran a little later and they stayed opened past close to finish her. So happy and will be coming back. She looks so cute & smells amazing. Thankyou!!

Highly recommend!I have a very sensitive *ie nippy* cattle dog mix, extremely nervous with handling so nail trimming is stressful. The Dog Spaw takes walk-ins for nails, I liked what I read on their website so I gave it a try.No real wait, maybe five minutes. The groomer Neila came out to reception, took her time getting to know Lulu, and discussed options. I believe another groomer (Kim?) assisted in the nail trim, and they did great! No muzzle needed. Huge relief for mama!! The desk manager/receptionist was also very engaging but calm with Lulu and the other dogs I saw being dropped off or picked up.The “spaw” also sells a nice variety of healthy dog treats, fun toys, and whimsical collars and leashes. (The second photo is my other two pups enjoying one of the stuffed animals.)They take various forms of payment, but the best part is being able to Venmo the tip directly to your groomer. So convenient!If you are hesitant about your groomer because you have a nervous dog, check out The Dog Spaw. I had a great first experience there, and will certainly be returning with my other two crazy girls.

Update: Jan 2024: They are so friendly & accommodating here. I have a nervous Corgi which gets very upset & squeals when his paws are touched, making it extremely difficult to cut his nails. They permitted me in the back with groomers to calm him down which really helped with his favorite peanut butter to distract him. I would highly recommend this groomer. Others would have just put a muzzle on him!Just had my 2 dogs groomed here. Staff is very friendly & spa is immaculate. My dogs sometimes get upset, esp my little Corgi, but both dogs came out happy & so fluffy & clean. They even gave me a discount for my first visit. I highly recommend them & will be back soon.

If I could give this place a less then one star I would. I have a dog with an illness that was disclosed before his first appointment as a 6 month old puppy; with clearance from both his vet and specialist doctor who know over a year later this place no longer will clean him because of something soemone else told them instead of listening to the owner of the dog and the dogs vet!! Complete unprofessionalism and disgrace that this place has done to us. They would rather me bring him to a vet to be cleaned under sedation that continue to do what worked for him for over a year!!

First time taking my Jax there. Being a stubborn big boy, there were a couple requests I had asked for. The staff was so nice and accommodating. They were amazing, I don’t think Jax wanted to leave. Always set up his next appointment.

Made an appointment for 2 of myDogs. For over 2 months in advance. Pride was given $180 plus. My son took the dog over today and on maps I sent location it still is only address. By the time we figured out I started calling them and they said by the time you get here it would be 30 min late. It’s not my fault they haven’t updated the address. They lost 2 customers And to treat customers this way is unacceptable. Dogs are nervous as is. I would never recommend this place. They couldn’t accommodate one time an innocent mistake. My dogs get groomed every 5 weeks. Do the math times 2. Great business owners.

Took my pup to get groomed, the groomer and I both agreed that she had a small matted patch by the ears. 30mins later I get a call to pick her up and she will have wet, because she is nipping at the groomer. I get there my baby was shaved, but her face has a lot of fur and now she have a new matted fur above her ear. Now she doesn’t want anyone getting too close to her face. This was a very bad experience for my dog.

The customer service is phenomenal. I took in a foster for a friend who recently passed away. We brought the dog from Texas and his coat was in bad shape, i was desperately looking for a groomer. Although they were unable to fit our foster in, they were so attentive and professional. I really thought it was kind of them to call me back with updates. I called 20 groomers and this groomer by far was the kindest. Thank you all again for trying.

Yesterday I brought my Golden Labrador here to get washed, dried, feet cleaned up, teeth brushed nd ears cleaned by Jess.My dog sheds A LOT and his coat looks great she really took a lot of the undercoat off.The staff was SO friendly with both me and my dog. He looks incredible , and so cute with his bandana. Highly recommend this grooming salon, Simba will definitely be going back on a regular basis, loved that they also had a great selection of treats for sale that worked with my dogs dietary needs !Thank you soooo much for taking such great care of my dog!

PAW-nomenal! This was the first time I brought my dog, Sonic, to this groomer. The staff was so friendly! Our groomer, Tina, even got on the floor and played with him while we went over his service. What really got me, was if you closed your eyes, you'd NEVER know you were at the groomers...... There was NO dog smell!!! The store was clean and smelled great! Sonic came home looking great! He has given The Dog Spaw a 5 Paw rating!

I called ahead of time to inform them that my dog is afraid of getting his nails cut and is extremely cautious of people and they were very respectful and took the necessary steps to socialize with him so he is comfortable with them and when it came time to cut his nails they did an excellent job even though he can be a handful! I will be going again and love there customer service!

I would highly recommend this establishment, especially Neila, to anyone who is hesitant about leaving their dog(s) with a stranger. I never worry when my dogs are in their care.
