The staff here was super friendly and helpful. There were only 2 or 3 employees in the store but they were doing an excellent job at taking care of customer as well as helping at checkout. I bought my first bird cage as well as some accessories and received great recommendations from them.

This Petco is one of the best places to find saltwater fish. The person in charge of caring for the fish maintains clean tanks and ensures the fish are healthy. During my visit, everything was perfect—no issues with the fish, and the water was clean. I'm not sure who manages this location, but they are doing an excellent job.

The sales associate was very helpful. Typically, at this location I have to request assistance. On this visit, a representative was available and ready to assist. She was also our cashier as well. She thanked us and wished us a nice day. That's all it takes for great service. I appreciate the exceptional service.

So when I brought my dog in she was the only dog there so the lady said that she was able to take her time with her. I was not the one who picked her up my husband was and he was horrified after giving her a tip which payments are made prior to you seeing your pet. My dog will no longer come back to petco for grooming which is fine after seeing her wound. She didn’t even say she cut her face. I’m definitely going to report it. I am so happy l wasn’t the one who picked her up because it would have been reported on the spot.

my boyfriend and i walked into the store to get some fishes and we asked for help and they told us no they’re understaffed and only have two workers. I don't see why the store would be open if they can’t help customers. there was also no one in the store so i don't see why she couldn't spare two seconds to help us. the lady was also watching us the second we walked in, did not greet or say bye to us. was sensing hostile and racist vibes! would not recommend. also they definitely need a manager or maybe just shut down! Edit: Day 3 of going to the store and still can’t get my fish. Unfortunately this is the only store that has the fish i want and the employee can’t spare 10 minutes of her time to help. Great customer service (not)

Aside from the pet training, can you also please train your sales associate with proper customer service etiquette. The woman behind the cash register who rang up my dog’s items has an unfriendly attitude .

We brought our Siberian Husky here in April of this year based on good reviews. I always check all reviews before deciding where to bring my dog.The groomers did a fantastic job on Jack’s coat. It took quite a few months for him to start shedding again! Highly recommend! They did a very thorough job, and even went above and beyond!

I brought my 14 year old blind Shitzu to be groomed for the first and what will be the only time at the Petco in Edison NJThe groomer seemed clueless I asked her to do a “ pup cut “ and she had no clue what it was so I had to show her a pictureMy dog is 14 and blind and has always been the anxious type .. u would think the groomer would be more compassionate and understanding but she wasn’tWhen I went to pick her up I asked how she did and she basically told me “ I don’t think she’s a good fit for Petco grooming so she can’t come back a gain” what a joke lolShe’s a sweet rescue dog who has anxiety .. is that a reason to say she can no longer come to be groomed there??The groomer said she was moving some during the cut ok but aren’t the groomers trained to handle all types of dogs with different personalities etc? I hefer had this issue with any other groomers in the 5 years I’ve had her and she’s groomed regularly .If u have a dog who’s older, has anxiety ( alot of dogs do) do not go here the groomer is clueless!!There are plenty of better places who handle dogs much better.. all dogs have different personalities that’s part of the job as a professional groomer!!I’ve been having my dog groomed every 8 weeks and never ever been treated like this ! Do yourself and your dog a favor and find a better place ! Plus the charge for the items they use for the haircut and bath ( an extra 8 $) insane !! Stay away from this place there r many more professional places local who do a better job and know how to handle all types of dogs !!

I was truly disheartened by my recent experience when I had scheduled a training session with Penelope. My card was charged for the session, and I even received multiple confirmations and reminders in preparation for the appointment. However, upon my arrival, the disappointment began to set in.To my dismay, no one greeted me, and the only employee was preoccupied at the cash register, tending to other customers. The training area seemed abandoned. It was only after I finally asked the woman at the register where I should check in for the dog training session that the true extent of my disappointment became apparent.She nonchalantly informed me, "Oh, Penelope is no longer with the company, and I'm not sure what to tell you. You can call the manager on Monday to request a refund." There was no effort made to resolve the situation or even a simple apology for the significant oversight on their part. I felt completely dismissed as a customer, as she didn't even make eye contact and continued to focus on the other customers.What adds further insult to injury is that their booking system still allows clients to schedule sessions with Penelope or fog dog training in general, and it proceeds to charge their credit cards for services that are clearly no longer available. This level of unprofessionalism and the associated frustration it causes are deeply upsetting.

Really enjoy the prices and selection from here. The reptile collection is great and where I picked up my chameleon. They set me up with everything I needed and she’s been growing and getting stronger everyday. Couldn’t be happier with this place, I’ll be coming back when I expand my reptile habitat and start my salt water tank.

Ridiculous store. Came here 1.5 hours before store closing hours and told fish department was closed. Asked clerk if she could hold a couple of fish that I had spent last 30 minutes picking out, and told no they don't hold fish.Maybe post a sign if you're not selling fish after a certain time so you don't waste people's time?

Because my puppy didn’t sit still when getting his nails clipped. The employee restricted me from bringing in my dog to any Petco. He’s a puppy and it was only his second time getting his nails clipped. Horrible service.

Honest kitchen items were not on the shelves. Spoke to cashier and she stated that they were rearranging the store so items are stacked up in boxes. I asked her if someone can help me find the honest kitchen pate. She stated she would have someone come and after 15 minutes no one came so I started looking through the stacked items along the back wall and located some. So I am moving small and big bags of dog food to locate what I need. So while I am heading to check out, I see the cashier doing something else and there is someone else at the register (Dejames?? I think is name was something like that because his name tag was visible unlike the woman cashier). She basically was like screw you and your dog. Now the Petco by my house which is super convenient to me is closing down or something so they don’t have Stock of honest kitchen items for dogs therefore I am forced to go out of my way to buy my babies what they like and i am encountered by “look for your own items” attitude.. I wish I took that cashier’s name. She was Asian there was another gentleman looking for Merrick in salmon flavor and I was helping him look for it and told him someone was coming to help but of course I was lied to so he waited and then he left. While searching for my food I found the kind he needed to but it was too late..Such bad customer service!!

I scheduled 2 appointments to have my dog groomed at this Petco. The first time I was told my pet could not be groomed because he needed his shots. I am a first time pet owner so no problem took him to the vet got his shots I came back a second time to have him groomed and was told. Due to a small hernia which is hardly visible, I was told they do not groom dogs with hernias. The woman never took my dog out of his carrying back, she did not even examine him. She read the note I put and automatically denied us service. I would like to see where in Petco's policy does it say they do not groom dogs if they have hernia's. Furthermore, when I put the information in the appointment requests they could have given me a call rather than have me alter my work schedule to be denied seconds after coming in. I will never be going to this Petco again to purchase anything. I will be going to a local pet groomer instead!

The Petco in Edison… tried to buy a small Dalmatian Lyretail Molly fish for $6. Woman representative told me they are ‘uncomfortable’ with selling me a fish because my ‘tank is too small.’ Really?! Petco is more interested in selling fish tanks than gaining loyal customers.

I went to get vaccines done for my dog and they were very kind and understanding he is a very big dog. I just wish that waiting times was a little shorter and the process to stand in line was a little different. My dog is not reactive, but because of his size small dog seem to be reactive towards him. The waiting in line text to come in is System is kind of lagged for the vet shots.

Online prescription order: First time ordering prescription meds and last. Both prescription from vet and what I indicated in cart was a chewable and what I received was a topical. An hr later they wouldn’t resolve the issue despite being an error on their end. I asked to speak to supervisor, she initially stated she couldn’t help bc it was a prescription and the only solution was for me to spend $200 to repurchase the correct items (when it was their mistake). I insisted it was their error; I have the emails (confirmation email with what requested and the vets prescription). She even suggested that I try this meds out on them since the vet approved it. I told her I’d never have given them that meds nor would. She asked if she could call back. When she did, she had a nicer tone and said she would be sending me the correct meds. Too many phone calls later and my time wasted, when the solution was easy… to send me the correct meds free of charge bc it was their error; it was finally resolved. I won’t be ordering again from here. I hope someone listens to our conversation and uses it for training purposes. As management can’t tell their staff not to replace prescription items especially when it was their mistake.

If I could have posted this without giving any stars I would, but unfortunately it wasn't a option so that's why I gave it a 1. I don't usually write reviews but I feel like this time I should. Brought in my Goldendoodle for grooming, had an appointment and everything. Yes, he had a few knots.. but isn't it the groomers responsibility to either cut them out or some what brush it and if he needs a shave to shave him. My dog was groomed their before by another groomer and she had no problem grooming him and I felt like he looked worse than he did today. The chick who suppose to groom him looked at him and just said ' nope im good ', no your job is suppose to groom or atleast try; not just brush him away. Very disappointed, will not be returning.
