Liz D has been the most unprofessional groomer I’ve ever dealt with, from her presentation to the results delivered, specially for a 5 hour grooming appointment. Our dog (a well trained maltipoo who loves being groomed) was left with his hair all sheared up. Knots and Matt’s all over his ear and tail. Nails unbuffed and uncut even though we paid extra for these services, leaving a uncut nail lifted causing pain. The store cashier was shocked on how poorly our dog was groomed and tried to talk to Liz about it but she just responded with attitude. I never received a follow up from the manager since a month ago and her email just bounced back at all time.

Animals available are not cared for. Lots of staff standing around chatting about co-workers who should be cleaning out the tanks and cages. Very upsetting for an animal lover to see.

I stopped in to see if my dog Sugar could get her first nail trim. We just rescued her and I was so nervous! We had the MOST wonderful experience with Liz the groomer.. She was so kind and fun with Sugar!!! I will be back and back again because of Liz!!! The cashier Susan, was extremely helpful too! I came to pick up something that was out of stock when I got there...the cashier made the arrangements for it to be shipped right to my home. I just had to wait 3-4 days! Saved me an extra trip. AMAZING people at East Hanover Petco!!! THANKS

at one point I loved this location super easy and helpful. now when you go to check out you usually need to go look for an employee. new staff won't ask for my phone number for my vital care I need to ask if its ok to apply it since they are in such a rush(even when not busy) the old staff was the reason I signed up and made it super easy each time I came now it seems to always be an issue and staff is always confused. I'm paying for pemier vital care but I don't even get to apply my benefits sometimes so frustrating with the new staff I was just assuming they were still in training but after months of this it seems to just be they don't care and want to get back to their conversation with their co workers

This business needs to lose their license. I visited this location 6 months ago to find their gecko’s in terrible health, living in inhumane conditions. They are sick and unable to shed their coats from what looks like improper husbandry. Multiple tails and fingers lost etc. Zero urgency from the employees present. They advised us that there was no one employed at the location that is qualified to take care of the reptiles. After speaking with management and corporate, we were told it was being addressed and they were hiring a professional. 6 months later, I return to see the lizards in even worse shape. One of the lizards is still there from 6 months ago and appears to have an infection.

We took our dog to a local groomer today and she told us that our dog's anal glands were not even expressed as it was pretty full and her nails -- although were cut -- were still quite long and were not buffed (which I believe are add on services). It's disappointing that it is taking long for this to be resolved and quite upsetting that we paid so much for poor service, or rather supposed service. It makes me wonder how many other customers are not aware they're paying more for nothing. I hate to give a bad review, but hopefully, it helps future/current clients.

Went in to see if the groomer had time to do a nail trim on my dog, and she said we needed her vaccination records. We said that we didn’t have them but we usually go to another Petco so if there’s a system she can look them up. She said okay and that she needed to ring up another customer. We waited around, then found her organizing litter boxes. Tried to give her the benefit of the doubt (maybe she didn’t see us) and she said she would be with us in a minute. She was nowhere to be found. Eventually we decided to leave and we saw her chatting away with someone in the parking lot outside. Overall really disappointing customer service experience.

Liz was so great with our dog. It was our dog’s first time getting groomed and we were nervous to leave her, but Liz made our pup (and us!) comfortable. Our pup came home with beautifully buffed nails, a new Halloween ready bow, and smelling great! Her tail was wagging when we picked her up! Thank you ❤️

Recently we purchased a new lead and collar for our dog at Pet Co on Rt. 10 in Hanover. Looking closer at the items when we got them home we had found out that they increased the price by 25%! Needless to say we where not impressed by this show of corporate greed! When I returned these items to the store and asked why I was told the price increased. What I can’t figure out is how does the price increase on an item already in stock and that has been paid for. No this excuse doesn’t float with me. I was in retail for over 22 years. First in, first out, stock rotation, inventory turnover are obvious items that are overlooked. New stock in equals items with a price increase, not ripping off customers to pay a higher price than what is listed. The excuse of California (corporate offices) told us to do this is no excuse what so ever.Instead of dealing with this chain I would suggest you support your local Mom and Pop shop, can’t make it there? Anywhere but Petco is advisable, unless of course you like to be ripped off!

I continue to have very positive grooming experiences at this Petco. The groomer Liz is always positive, upbeat, and shows a genuine love for my dog. The grooming is always well done and very thorough and Liz takes great care making sure that my dog is comfortable, not stressed, and cared for while in her company.

Staff is very helpful! Needed help picking out grooming tools for my dog and both the sales associate and the dog groomer, Liz, were great.Liz went above and beyond by guiding me in the right direction with honest and straight forward product recommendations, even though I wasn't there for grooming services! This is what I got from Petco today. A bag of food that expires 2 months ago. Called Petco and I was told I have to go back to store and return and they can do nothing to help. But this store is far from my home! I just got this since I passed by that area for other errand! So upset for this! There is no full service from Petco!

The woman who helped me was amazing! I haven't had a dog in many years and I recently rescued a puppy. She was kind, understanding and patient to me with my questions. I would HIGHLY recommend all my friends to go there.

Our 4 month old Poochon had his 1st grooming here today. We were not allowed to stay. When they handed our puppy to us, they never mentioned they had injured him. Archie has a 1 inch laceration on his underbelly. I can’t believe they did this and did not even acknowledge and apologize for their mistake. Shame on Petco, East Hanover, NJ!! Will definitely not be going back.

I take my dog here for grooming. Liz is terrific. She is patient and calm. Grooming is not one of his favorite activities but he clearly loves Liz.

Much better stocked than the one near my house, and employees were helpful. They were putting up sale tags that started the next day (it was not obvious that it wasn't valid the day I went) and when I got to the register to pay and pointed out that it was supposed to be on sale the cashier happily gave me the price on the sale tag without any trouble, which is how you should run your business (I've had cashiers argue with me about this, when it's not the customer's fault that they decided to put tags up early). Very pleased, though I will never say that prices are great here unless something is on sale.

Our kids had lots of questions for one of the associates and she was very patient and knowledgable. The store itself was pretty clean and easy to get around. Plenty of fish, but also had mice, hamsters, etc. Also had a snake, some lizards and hermit crabs. We had a very pleasant time.

I was initially bummed because nobody approached me to see if I needed help. I found a lady who ended up being super helpful. She was a Morristown High grad (me 2) and recommended CBD treats for my dogs anxious behavior. Well i must say they are pricey as all get up but i do see a significant difference in my dog, for the better. She is 90% less anxious without being lethargic and tired. Sorry updated to 2 stars from 5. Customer service is bad / horrible.

The experience that I had today at this location was horrible. I called before showing up to find out if they had a specific fish in stock. I was told that they did but they couldn’t hold it for me so I left right away and got there and they had the fish. When I show up the price of the fish was $60 more than it was online. When I asked if they would do a price match for their own ad they said no. They also stated I was lucky that I wasn’t going to pay $150-$200 more by buying it online because that type of fish is more expensive than the others. When I looked online the delivery fee was only $30 so it still would’ve been less expensive than buying the fish that was in front of me. The fish also didn’t meet the description size and when I asked if they would give it to me for the same price as online she said you’re lucky that it’s this cheap because it’s pretty rare. The woman that I dealt with was very rude and condescending and refused to check with her manager if there was anything that they could do to help me out. I have shopped at this location for over 15 years and I refuse to do business with Petco any longer.

I purchased a chew bone which my dog enjoyed, but 24 hours later he started passing foul smelling gas and then diarrhea with blood. I took him to the vet and he was given antibiotics for 7 days. He is doing well now. No more chew bones!Update (3/20/21) I spoke with the manager and she was able to locate my purchase in their database (I had used a debit card). She said I could get a refund, so I went to the store yesterday (manager was not there, but the male staff spoke with her via phone).They did not refund the original cost of the chew bone ($9.05) because "I didn't have a receipt" even though they had a printed copy of the purchase from their database, so they refunded $8.52 because the chew bone is currently on sale. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Came here after a terrible experience at PetSmart and didn’t know what to expect. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and helped us get signed up for private training for our puppy. Would recommend significantly more than PetSmart!

The location of this store is very convenient. We typically only get couple of items at Petco and opt for a different vendor for most other items (mainly because Petco either does not carry those or they are overpriced). Make sure to check online if there are any coupons available before you head to the store.
