We had a really good meal tonight! I had one of their salmon specials and my husband had a steak special! They were all great! Not to mention. As always, they're wonderful salad bar. We have been here several times and have also had their stuffed shrimp, they're roast duck, they're roast chicken, and a bunch of their other dishes which are all great!

Food and service was phenomenal!! Our waitress was Anna, and she was perfect! She came to the table frequently to check on us. The salad bar was so fresh and was kept very clean! Our entrees came out hot and crispy but were still so moist!! Also, portions were just enough! The views of the lake are stunning! We’ll be back!

Prime Rib a winner! Ours was done perfectly. Salad bar is seriously lacking in choices. Bread should be served to table so everyone doesn’t touch it to slice it! Chochlate Moose was delicious! Our server Hanna was awesome! Drinks good too! The interior hasn’t changed in 50 years! Needs an update to brighten up the dining room.Parking: Parking can be a challenge!

On the corner of where Imlaystown Rd tee intersects (on a hard carve) with Davis Station Rd., sits the Happy Apple Inn in the center of old Imlaystown. The Happy Apple Inn, sits right on Imlaystown Lake. It's just off the road with little frontage and the intersection is interesting, so Slow Down! There is space for several cars in front and just past the Inn there are two parking lots at the Happy Apple Inn wood sign, on both sides of the road. Paking lots are both dirt, not striped and no designated handicap slots. Unknown condition with rain and/or frozen. Depending on time of day and season, be careful cars can be moving fast, it's a tight road and people tend to park without a care for the next person. From the outside you are looking at a old house with the sign Happy Apple Inn letting you know you found it. Inside is waiting an awesome Restaurant in a fantastic well maintained historic building! A welcoming old school dining house atmosphere, with back in the day decor and a bar. This is the way it was back when a Inn had a dining room for guests and the general public when space allowed. This type of dining is often in books and movies but not often found. So now the food.First be aware there is a salad bar and bread station tucked away where you can not see it. It is unlimited and offers a nice selection (see photos), so plan your meal accordingly to accommodate for this! The table is set formal but the attire is casual. Keep in mind, this is a very nice place for a dining experiences from just a meal to a romantic date, so dress appropriately, yes. The menu is slightly limited but loaded with first class meals for this price range. Our meals were absolutely marvelous, cooked and seasoned just right and good portion size. Wait staff was friendly, professional and attentive.Did not order alcoholic beverages and no space for dessert, which is a separate menu. The bar and outside (when weather allows) seating has a separate menu. There is a handicap accessible universal bathroom available on first floor and additional male and female bathrooms on the second floor. On the second floor is also space for private events with it's own bar area.Enjoyed all.Not 5 star because of parking.AndAlso note men's room located 2nd floor top of stairs, does have a lock, not the door or the stall. I advised hostess. Apparently owner is renovating or repairing and will get to it. Maybe there will be a lock soon?We all have different experiences and this one is mine. 🤙🏻

Food was bland. Salad bar was good. Service was slow. Carpet looked worn and dirty and walls could have used fresh coat of paint. Overall, neither food nor atmosphere were worth the exorbitant prices. The “medium” tuna was well done and, therefore, tough. Everything needed more salt. Sauce was lacklusterParking: Fewer parking spaces than needed for amount of seating and was distributed at various locations

My husband and I have eaten here several times, but this place should be called the Crabapple Inn. The staff is always so cranky. During our last visit to the “Crabapple” Inn, it took the waitress 2 hours to bring us our food. That is no exaggeration because when we asked what was taking so long, she snapped that there was a party upstairs in the whiskey room, and that their service took “priority”… for real? I wanted to leave but my husband said we may as well wait a little longer. Once the food finally came, it was unimpressive and we resolved to never waste our time or $$ there again.

Hands down this place is worth taking the drive to. If your visiting NJ or live here, definitely put this place on your list to visit. With its rustic, homey atmosphere, great views over the lake and exceptional chefs. It's no wonder this gem is a staple in NJ... The server was great, even being short staffed. The food was just amazing. The prices are on the higher end. However with the quality, portions and cooked to perfection dishes. It is worth it. I recommend giving them a visit.

I can't say enough good things about this place. It's truly incredible. Th food is delicious exceptional. I mean truly amazing, and they have such a great range of finger food to exquisite options. The service was second to none. Every member of the staff was kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. Food and drinks also came out in a timely Manor. The history here was really cool as well. I think the place has been in this family for over three generations. And the love and care shows.

The Happy Apple Inn is probably my favorite restaurant. The food is delicious & I've never had a complaint about it with quality, quantity or how it's cooked; the food is always cooked how i asked (ie: burger med- well or well done). We never have to wait long if at all to be seated & served. The menu has good selection. I like that they offer a free salad bar with the entrées. The view of the lake is pretty. The atmosphere is nice- quiet. Definitely recommend eating here.

We were in the area so looked up restaurants and husband chose this one. Outside deck has a really nice atmosphere with the water behind, it was pretty chilly for outside though. Service was ok, our girl was working inside and outside but another waitress helped her. The food was just ok and very exorcism for what it was. Salad bar was nice and my favorite part. The shrimp bisque was thin and only lukewarm, not thick like a bisque normally is. The chicken Alfredo looked like it had been under the warmer bc the sauce on the top layer pasta was dry, liquid sauce was all underneath. The chicken was the kind you buy in a package to put on a salad, cut into small slices. The desserts other tables got looked big and nice, don't know how they tasted. We eat out alot at restaurants with these prices so it's not the money, but this restaurant was not worth those prices. There's a nice looking whiskey bar upstairs.
