Crazy that there’s one girl serving people and the other 2 girls found it more important to take their sweet time dilly dallying with bringing cardboard out to the street corner for recycling instead of opening the second window. We’ve been here before and the top-notch fresh ice cream is worth a 20 minute wait max, but not 25 mins for 3 customers to be served. The girls are intentionally ignoring customers at this point and the wait would be at least another hour for us to be served. We left, and we are extremely disappointed. Time to get new help that isn’t grossly immature and irresponsible. 3 days into the open season and this behavior is unacceptable. You’ve basically lost loyal local customers. No idea why the service is extremely slow. inspite of 2 windows open to take the orders the line lasts for more than an hour . It’s extremely annoying and many old couples just went back as they could not stand for a long time. Kids were frustrated too.The service needs to be greatly improved.So funny, 3 servers (college students?) just giggling around inside , cleaning windows, cleaning utensils for 5 mins between each order..And if someone orders milkshake then forget about next order for next 15 mins.People standing in line are leaving after 40 minsClimax was the 2nd window just closed on our turn after being in line for 70 mins. Btw we were here at 5:30 pm and not during closing hours

Love the ice cream. When we went there, only 1 girl was working and the line was so long, took us 30+ mins to get to the window. The girl was still so pleasant though. Maybe they can put another menu somewhere along the line area, or make the lettering on their menu larger. Biggest holdup I think was that people got to the window, and then looked at the menu and kept going back and forth about what to order.

This is our local go-to spot for ice cream.Taste: there is a large variety of flavors and my family has generally loved every kind they've tried. The flavors are not always strong (e.g. the peach ice cream flavor could be stronger). The portions are always generous!Service: the workers are always quick to help and are friendly and cheerful!4/5 rating because they have a sign most of the times we go that indicate they are out of certain flavors (usually out of 7-12 flavors). One would assume those flavors would be restocked weekly but that is not the case.

Lovely window shop with lots of tasty options and an excellent staff.Had a scoop or their German Chocolate Cake and another of their Wicked Chocolate. Both were very good.There are a few benches where you can sit an enjoy your frozen treat. Ample street parking.

This is a great local ice cream shop in Cranberry township.Nice setup. It resembles like a small village. Good Outdoor seating facility.You get locally made ice creams with different flavors at reasonable price.Very courteous and kind staff. They will guide you and help you to chose perfect ice cream for your taste.Plenary of roadside free parking and lot of parking space available at cranberry public library, which walkable distance.THIS IS CASH ONLY STORE.

Tiny Ice Cream shop in small quaint town that make those old fashion wholesome frozen dessert your grandparents talk about their younger days, buying from the corner store.... Ingredients had names like pumpkin, vanilla, coffee, and toffee. Oh, we long for the good old days. Lots of flavors to choose from even without sugar. My favorite and just in time for Halloween. My first pumpkin ice cream.... Taste like homemade Pumpkin pie mild spice in a creamy smooth, tasty treat not too overly sweet. Coffee & toffee loaded with toffee crunch. No lines, service was fast, maybe Ice cream season is over...Anyone?

Next to Cranbury post office, this place is locals favorite for ice cream for a reason, delicious ice cream at reasonable price. Area is picturesque, with ample parking on road. Benchs outside for sitting. Lots of flavors. Tried chocolate and peach flavors, loved them.

Your ice cream and service is usually excellent but I am really disappointed by today's experience. The guy who was at the register was obviously not in the mood to work today or something. He did not greet any customer (wasn't even busy it was just me and one other customer waiting) one of quart I ordered wasn't even filled properly. I ordered an extra waffle cones, he literally picked up the waffle cones and put it on top of register box (cashier box) without any clean sheet of napkins or paper. He could have grabbed the waffle cone and put them right into the paper bag but instead he decided to put it on top of cashier box..it makes me question your sanitary.I also found big ice piece inside the regular size waffle cone ice cream. What the heck

I used to live in the area and frequented G&B quite often. Some of the best ice cream I've had as well as exceptional service. Obviously I had to stop in on during my current trip to NJ. Still as good as I remember!

Flavors mint on main, wicked chocolate, raspberry chocolate chip!! I got a large, 3 scoops, I asked the sweet employee pick out her favorite. She was right raspberry chocolate chip was sooo good!! Definitely recommend that flavor, place, and price!!

Absolutely insane they can't provide better or quicker service, we understand you have tough time to hire but it can't be at mercy of people waiting in lines for 45 mins with little kids during hot weather and they are serving at slowest pace with just one employee and no owners trying to guide or help them move the line quickly. Avoid this place until they find any solution for this.

The love and care the owners put into the business shows up in their service and offerings. Highly recommend it to friends.Random fun fact:The property from where they run the business is around 180 years old. Cranbury Main Street screams history.

I am a huge proponent of supporting local businesses and absolutely love coming to Gil & Bert's! They offer a great selection of hand-packed ice creams that are both vegetarian and allergy-friendly. Employees are courteous and there is even a little bucket of sidewalk chalk outside for kids to decorate around the storefront!

Very very nice. The ice creme was superb. The cashier was very sweet and Im sure the bag of money I found on the counter will undoubtedly be returned to its rightful owner if they realize whats missing. The chalk and straight forward line was welcome. I'll be coming back for sure.

The ice cream is always good, but I'm not really an ice cream connoisseur. I like the shaded benches under the tall trees. The one downside is that there's always a really long line, and it seems to take forever to get through it. And the line is always in the hot sun on top of the molten hot pavers. My wife loves it though and says she can taste the difference in a positive way.

I got the Cannoli Ice Cream, and it was quite tasty. Generous scoop for the price. Lost points for 2 reasons: 1. if an establishment closes at 9:30, I expect that arriving before 9:10 is early enough to be served. Unfortunately, the line here closes by 9, and anyone not in the stanchion is turned away (unless you are friends with the server guarding the line). I think a posted closing time of 9, with serving everyone remaining in line at 9 would be a much better solution and avoid issues.2. Numerous flavors, including flavors on the sign listing “now in-stock” were indeed NOT in stock. Fortunately I had a few backup flavors in mind, but I appear to have misunderstood what “in-stock” entails.Glad I got to try Gil & Bert’s before leaving town, even if it took two tries to not be turned away. Best, a visitor to Cranbury from 500 miles away.

1st time. We tried the regular cups, coffee , cookie dough, and of butter pecan. Loved them. 1st time eating cookie dough, and it was very tasty with bits of cookie dough. The butter pecan had plenty of nuts to satisfy the crunch lover. Regular cups contain 2 hugh scoops of ice cream, so mix and match to try different flavors.They have benches and a few chairs, in front, to sit and enjoy.We'll be back. 😊

I love this place. I went out of my comfort zone and got fruity ice cream instead of the normal chocolate flavors I always get. I got peach and strawberry and they were delicious. It was perfect on a hot summers day. What makes the experience even nicer is that the shop is in such a cute town. Its nice to walk around (or drive around) while eating the ice cream.

The best ice cream in this area! - this was my review 8 months ago. And below so my review now:This place used to be so good. I have to come back on this site to change my 5 star review to 2. This season started off on a bad note with flavors constantly being out of stock. That is slowly changing and they even have new flavors now. They started a new flavor, Chocolate Lovers Chocolate which was amazing with creamy chocolate and brownie bits. Today when we got it, it tasted completely different. Very icy and chalky. There were no brownie bits in there and the chocolate tasted cheap. We literally threw it away. Very disappointed 😞

This has been our regular go-to ice cream shop in the area for about the last couple of years. Cute little shop with friendly staff and lots of delicious ice cream flavors and toppings. They also offer Italian ice and I believe gluten-free ice cream as well. We will most definitely be back in the spring, as always. Highly recommend!
