Waste of time. Came for the dog wash and was told it closes 3 hours before the store closes. This would’ve been fine if there was anyway to get this info before driving all the way there. The dog wash hours are nowhere on the website and you cannot call the store to ask either (you will get put on hold and no one will pick up).

My cat is a fussy eater. This store is local and carries a lot of options to pick from for both my cat and dog. There are also a lot of treats, toys. Although not today, I have used the self service bathing which is convenient and easy. Towels are a little rough and you also have to request more because there are never enough- but of course it’s not a spa! Sometimes I bring my own too. Staff is helpful and easy to find.

I've been coming here for a while, rarely for a pet wash. I checked the website and the signs before coming in, and the pet wash was closed 1.5 hrs before close. If I knew, I wouldn't have driven over here and wasted an hour of my time. Another dissapoitmenting experience at this store.

This place is a gem.. having one of the few DIY dog washes available in the area. The price has gone up.. but for $20 you still get a lot..I wish the towels they supply were a bit more clean..

Staff was super helpful. Cindy in particular was able to answer all of our questions and even went above and beyond.Our toddler loves animals but is not ready for the responsibility that comes with having a pet. We decided to start her off with a Betta fish that we know we'll take care of. Cindy helped us with supplies and proper care. Cindy even volunteered to write down what to do and held on to our supplies and fish as we completed other shopping.

Friendly and Courteous service. I drove from NY, to purchase the Orijen premium dog food, which is the only food my dog can eat. I got lost and called their phone line and the customer service agent was nice enough, to guide me to the location and even kept the store open and had an associate wait by the door for me, to complete my transaction. I appreciate the great customer service. Highly recommended.

The staff at the Closter store are always friendly and helpful. They are knowledgeable about the ranges they carry. The rewards program is a plus. Petco also offers an online store, which I admittedly haven't used yet as I stay so close to this store. I'm also the type of person that likes to see what I'm buying in person first before buying.

Wonderful for the self serve dog wash. Everything was clean and the cashier was wonderfully helpful. They also gave my doggo some treats from the front to make her visit a happy one. There are 3 wash stations and plenty of aprons. They also provided 4 towels(small) shampoo, conditioner, a rubber brush, a comb and a slicker brush in a really cute basket. The area is great. We washed and dried while my husband checked out the liquor store and relax at starbucks.

My husband and I adopted a new female bichon 15 minutes away from the 59 Vervalen street PetCo. We went in for a quick self service wash. We were greeted at the door by Keith who was very kind and helped us with putting a temporary leash on our new bichon and he let the dog behavioral store associate Courtney share her knowledge with us about handling a rescue dog and she introduced us to the self service washing station. Even with my past 3 years of experience living with and washing my friend’s bichon, my husband and I were quite helpless with our new rescue, she was scared of us, of water of different sounds of the hair dryer other customers were using - who can blame our new rescue dog though she was from the rural countryside from the southern states! Both Keith and Courtney were very caring the whole time we were there, they kept checking in with us to see if we were doing ok- they knew we were from Connecticut, the 59 Vervalen street store is not our main store but they offered their wholehearted help during our time in their store regardless. So thankful for their guidance in helping us find the right harness for our rescue, picking out the dog food, dog treat as well as engraving a new dog tag for our bichon. We feel that they’re very kind, understanding and knowledgeable towards the information they share with us. Very grateful for such assuring first rescue dog self service wash experience at this store 😊

I bought a dried dog food in the store. I had to wait quite a while for the clerk's showing up for the check out.The next day I found out a nice dog collar was in the plastic bag, which I didn't buy. Because they didn't give me a receit, I had to check out my credit card bill online and found out they over charged on that item too. I called to the store and was told that I had to come back to the store with the collar to get a refund.I have to go to that store again for the mistake that I didn't make. What a bummer!!!!!

I loved the staff and the products, just missing the earthbath eye wipes. The trainer in the store really cared about the reasons behind my dog "in training" tag, never happened to me before so A+ for the team at Closter.

Closter's Pet Co is great! All the same products just a more efficient store with Super Customer Service Rep.'s.They even have the bathing tubs to wash your pet! Oh yeah..and they offer the vaccination clinics on certain Saturday's.

PROS: Cute little Petco close to where I live. Every time I go in I always see people bringing their dogs in for training which tells me they are doing something right. Has basically all you need and is conveniently located in a shopping plazaCONS: Some of the staff members are nice while others aren't. I've had my fair share of snippy employees and also very nice and helpful ones. Two of them also lied to me about the durability of a toy when it certainly wasn't durable at all. That made me return it real fast and lowered my trust in their opinion. Their inventory is also not as much as other Petcos.OVERALL: It's my go-to petco for basic stuff whenever i buy gifts for my friends with puppies. If you want more of a variety go to Hackensack, otherwise this is your one stop shop

when I went to pick up my order I was disappointed in the item. I had asked for a refund and the store manager told me that I had to come back the next day for the refund because it did not process yet, which that did not make scene to me when the order did go through to pickup. I suggest hiring a new store manager who knows how to give a refund.
