3/4/24 shop rite in Clinton deserves a -0- review but had to give them 1 star to be able to post this for public to be aware.Yesterday I bought store made shrimp salad, ate most of it & sick all night with diareaha & fever.Realized about noon the product had last selling date of 3/1. I bought it on 3/3 and trusted this store sold reliable products.I spoke with the mg george Miller today at 12ish and was non chalonton & requested I call corporate to file a complaint.Be warry about the clinton store with expiration dates as they will sell anything.Branchburg shop rite is better. She my attached proof.

You charge $14.94 for Delivery. On my most recent sales slip 4/29/24 you also charged an ADDITIONAL fee of $2.99 for an "Online Order Fee". Well you can't get a delivery without an online order. None of my previous orders have this "order fee" charge. There was no notice via email, no notice on your policies page or any other page, and not on your CART page where the Service fee & Bag fee & the Tip fee and, & Estimated Tax & Total are all listed and updated.... no explanation anywhere. We're disabled and would prefer to "pick up" but cannot. This sneaky new fee without any notice, warning or explanation is reminiscint of when you added a default tip without notice or explanation which still shows up on my checkout (albeit now with options).WHY can't you be upfront with your customers? You have our email addresses, you have a Homepage and a news and a policy page. I almost didn't notice it being at the bottom of the sales slip, I bet most folks didn't either. We're retired and on a fixed income and dont like being tricked into paying additional fees you didn't have the courtesy to inform your customers about. Shame on you.

Prices are okay but not great and they continue to rise, more regularly than I can remember years back. They are often out of multiple items I look forward to purchasing, consistency on this is awful. They either need more stock people or they're not bringing enough in to satisfy the volume. Items I find they're often out of are as follows: Nature's Path Hemp Hearts Granola, Powerade (grape & lemon lime flavors), Garden of Eatin' Red Hot Blues Chips, Premium Seafood Medley, Hanger Steak, Talenti Gelato (chocolate peanut butter cup, madagascan vanilla bean), Shoprite pumpernickel rye bread, shitake mushrooms, wholesome pantry half gallon whole milk, bowl & basket ice cream sandwiches, nature's path maple nut instant oatmeal). Finally, the self-checkout often accuses me of suspicious movement which stops my checkout until an associate is available to review the video and provide clearance to continue. Very annoying as I am not a thief.

If only the store had product stocked in the fridges and freezers…every time I go to this shop right, there is no chicken in the fridges…most frozen products are not stocked. In addition, the fresh chicken breasts (bowl and basket) are always full of liquid, and drip everywhere. Please take more time draining and packing this chicken in addition to stocking food items…Last week there was not one red bell pepper to find. How can a food store not have food? The town is getting more and more populated…time to expand, renovate more, and keep inventory higher.Once that is addressed, I’ll change my review accordingly.

Great neighborhood grocery store! They recently updated the fresh produce department. Very neat, organized, prices are labeled correctly. Bakery is excellent, produce always fresh and stocked. I find it very convenient and easy to shop here!Employees are very friendly and helpful.

Would be five stars if it wasn’t for the ridiculous digital coupons. The extra stop at the kiosk is bad enough but waiting in line while people scroll through every item is so frustrating. The courtesy card should be enough! Staff is friendly and they have a good selection but I really don’t like going there.

fix your self checkout alerts, it seems almost every time i go it flags me for an attendant to check the camera to see if i stole the item i just finished scanning. clearly your employees are sick of it too with the way they act when it happens. hate shopping somewhere that makes me feel like a criminal for absolutely no reason.

Employees are nice. Their flower section is good. My issue is the layout. They clearly expanded at some point and the result is a departure from the traditional parallel aisles.

Why is your bakery so close to raw meat? All I spelt was raw chicken. Should smell sweet .... Made me gag.Nope still smell it

Digital coupons on the ShopRite app are -insanely- annoying. Especially with no cell service and I don't trust the security of their wifi. Prices are moderate to unpleasant. I miss Aldi so bad.

Store was very clean inside and outside (parking lot area). Prices are reasonable. Shelves were well stocked and labeled. Only downside is that the deli department you have to order from the kiosk only. No interaction with the people. No tasting/checking 1st slice. I've been to numerous ShopRite in the last few months and this was the first one that did the above.

Great store for quick shopping. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hopefully, the supply chain issues will not affect the store as it is really the closest store to go to in our townUpdate 4.3.23Still feel the same. They have the best flowers and produce. Always get the most friendliest smiles from the staff and since the supply chain issue they are still going strong.

Great place to go for fresh prepared food or a foot long sub but you have to get there early because they disappear fast when freshly made and unlike Walmart this place has REAL people checking you out at a register with the option to use self checkout if you're in a hurry, Walmart makes you use self checkout because REAL people apparently are hard to hire these days , next they'll be usimg AI cause Walmart is that lazy !

Just don’t order delivery if you can avoid it. I have no choice some weeks. There is literally ALWAYS something that goes wrong—right down to grabbing groceries out of the bag and burning myself on a block of dry ice. Missing items. Groceries left in FRONT of my door, which opens outward—had to plow them over. I once got a bag I got was someone else’s—nothing in there was mine and it can’t be taken back. I have drivers constantly calling me that they are lost—but I type out clear and concise directions to my doorstep. It just seems like they’re overworked and most likely, underpaid.Now. On the weeks I don’t need delivery—I go myself and it’s an okay store.

Shopping experience has declined over the years. First the wifi in the store is terrible. In order to save money you have to use digital coupons and wifi is a necessity. Many times I put away food because I couldn't load the coupons. Next is the bagging situation. Since you have to bring your own bags, the cashiers rarely offer to help you. They just pause scanning waiting for you to catch up. Now they are expanding the self checkout. I went to shoprite late the other night before they closed and the only lines that were open were the self checkout. Mayne it would be nice if they paid us to do the job if the workers they probably let go. I highly doubt they care but I will be shopping more in stop and shop in the future. Too bad because this was our go to store for the past 20 years.Oh and the deli. Used to be able to order from a person. Not anymore. I stopped ordering from the deli for more than 2 years now. Used to spend $75/week on deli. Also parking is terrible.

Terrible shopping experience every time you go with no competition! First the parking lot is insane. It was seemingly designed in the eighties when everyone drove tiny, economy cars and they refuse to fix it. So you risk your car and yourself just parking and walking across it, it’s so dangerous and crazy with people cursing each other out. Everyone is in a terrible mood once inside. Like all stores they’ve cranked up the price gouging in recent years, yet if you are not vigilant, there is often expired food on the shelves. Like, expired a week earlier or more. Also since NJ got rid of plastic bags, the cashiers refuse to help bag your food. They will just stand there with their mouths hanging open, staring into space, while you bag all your food. They do this even if there’s a long line waiting for you to leave. And no one in management seems to care about any of this. Because they are the only store in town for miles. They are just counting their profits. The owners must be just despicable people. I wish so hard a new place or two would open so they have competition. I HATE shopping here.

Nice little supermarket... everything is neat and fresh. Smaller than most grocery stores today but they still have everything you are looking for! The produce section is beautiful and organized!! Love to shop here.

The store itself isn't bad. Problem is it's always crowded and 90% of the people have zero respect for those around them and also lack spatial awareness. I had a woman pin me up against a shelf with her shopping cart as she took her sweet time looking at chips. Saw what she did and didn't care nor apologize. Maddening.

The story is clean and well laid out but caused me some embarrassment when the meat department was completely mislabeled or price labels missing. But I thought it was a nice $10 steak was 22 bucks and I had to return it at the counter when I realized what the price was. It is imperative that items are marked with price individually or tagged on the counter correctly.Still in all clean and well laid out. A nice shopping experience.

Never enough cashiers. They allow people with 25 plus items in self checkout creating log jams. Inventory is usually low without many choices. Staff is not rude but not going out of their way to assist you. They know they have a captive neighborhood without grocery shopping options. Better going to Phillipsburg.

I am an early weekday shopper. So when checking out in Clinton yesterday 12/2 at 8 am, there was only one cashier and several of us in line. We shop at 7 to 9 in order to get the shopping done before logging into work. The poor checker had to ask to be relieved because the person before me lost his patience with the long delay. It isn’t the checkers fault, get the front end manager to recognize this need. It shouldn’t take 45 minutes to checkout at that hour.

What would be nice is if you told the public what your hours are on Christmas eve. Calling the store only gives the regular hours. Same on the website, Facebook, etc. I get that all stores are independently operated, but how hard is it to put a custom message informing your customers of your holiday hours? (Hint: Not hard) Overall, 2 stars for this location, but for this issue, I give it one star.

won't be shopping this store again. had to cancel a pickup as my infant is in the hospital, and they were snippy about canceling it. not sure what else I can do while I'm in the hospital-obviously not a foreseen circumstance. (they offered to doordash it to my house, where my groceries could sit outside and melt until I get home in a day?)

Had a wonderful experience with my catering order. Pam, the catering coordinator, was professional and extremely helpful. The order was ready on time and Pam was there to ensure that the pickup went smoothly and that the order was accurate. The food was DELICIOUS!!! We received many compliments at our event.
