Been here on a few occasions when passing through Cheater and have never been disappointed. They always have a hot food bar with all healthy choices. They have a great selection of smoothies that taste great with many different choices of fruit bowls. Always a great selection of snacks and have sample platters to sample some.new products. Great job Dean's.

Love this place! All store associates are super friendly, helpful, and highly knowledgeable. Good sales. GREAT VEGAN takeout. Nice size portions. I especially loved the vegan chicken salad wrap. Always a pleasant shopping experience. No pixs.

As a long-time customer of Dean's in Chester since it opened, it has been my favorite place to shop every week. They have an abundance of fresh produce and specialty items, especially for vegans, vegetarians, and those with food allergies (the Planted Eats products are especially beloved in my household!) The staff is always attentive and helpful. They know me by name and it is wonderful to shop in a place that caters to its community. Robyn, the nutrition manager, is my go-to for recommendations or special orders. Of course, the cashiers and grocery/produce/juice-bar staff have always been helpful and friendly, too. Starting the new year, I just want you all to know how appreciated you all are by your local customers!

I think Dean’s in Chester is amazing!!! Yes I work there and we really are like a family. We have been in this together since Covid started. We did not work from home we went to our beautiful store to serve our wonderful customers.I can’t believe that some customers feel we’re rude and make them feel unsafe. I don’t know one person in our store that would make anyone uncomfortable. I also can’t believe that anyone during these times, would go out of their way to write a negative review. If you feel compromised you can shop in our store Tuesday and Thursday 9-10 or we can shop for you and bring it out to the curb and put it in your car. It’s hurtful to read, or be spoken to about a negative review. Especially, when we strive to be the best we can be,for our customers.I am grateful to have my Dean’s family, and my wonderful customers. I am truly blessed.Peace, love, and happiness to all.

Been here two times since back in the area. As soon as I walked in a woman asked if I needed help. The same woman was again there on my second visit to ask if I needed help. Which I did need finding a certain product. They didn't have it but she was very helpful. I will be going again today. And the cashier was very friendly as well.

I enjoy shopping at Dean's as the organic foods are much better quality than at the large chain stores. True their prices may be a bit higher but you get better quality. I am willing to pay for the better quality. I find that the staff is helpful and trying to please. I always buy more and spend more than I plan because they have such different products that you cannot find in other stores so I continually trying something new. Now that Corona is upon us they have set aside hours of those of us that are more vulnerable, good for them. I also had not thought about this before but I use to bring my own shopping bags, I will not be doing that any more as there is a possibility they could be contaminated. Dean's is the ONLY store that I know of that provides there customers with disposable gloves to make sure there is no cross contamination. Big cheers for Dean's putting safety first for their customers.

Horribly rude and egotistical cashier. Brunette mousey looking woman had an attitude and volume problem with me while I was checking out. Had my 2 children with me so I couldn't really yell back at this woman. We will never be returning to Deans/Greens because if this woman. No need to contact me Deans Management, you won't do anything to fix it and I don't want a $25 gift card. Word gets around.

My family does the majority of our food shopping here. Dean’s always has high quality produce at a reasonable price that is often lower than chain grocery store brands. Their store is small but well-stocked with a large variety of items that are very friendly to the environment and those with dietary restrictions. They also have extremely friendly staff who are always happy to help and will go the extra mile to help you locate whatever product you may be looking for. They have also responsibly adjusted to the pandemic by offering gloves and enforcing face mask wearing in their establishment to protect their customers and employees as well being one of the first grocery stores to offer special shopping hours to elderly and immunocompromised individuals. It is very stressful to go grocery shopping these days but Dean’s is a place where I know I can get the items I need without feeling overwhelmed by the sheer magnitude of products or other shoppers.

Dean's is my main go to place for fresh produce and wheat grass shots. The fruits and vegetables are always beautiful and worth the 30+ minute drive to get there. They have a great juice bar and a wonderful staff who are always friendly and helpful. I always look forward to going there.

It is a pleasure shopping at Dean's Natural Food Market in Chester. During the pandemic, their curbside pick-up was such a comfort since I am dependent on their many allergy-sensitve foods. Now that I am back in the store, I find the same variety and quality of products including fresh produce. The employees are friendly and go out of their way to be helpful. Love this store!

Place is really great. The employees are friendly - food is fresh - wide variety - and the prices are in line with the other organic places like Whole Foods. The ONLY 2 issues are (1) the check out counter which is the size of a very, very, ver,y small postage stamp - and (2) the electronic menu near the sandwich and drink bar is always changing - so if you see something you like you have but seconds to read about it before it changes on you - then you have to wait for it to come back up (and find it again) - but they do have paper menus. They should invest in a fixed electronic menu board.

Great local shopping, fresh organic produce and a wide selection of health conscience choices. Great prepared foods and juices made to order, the Lentil Loaf is outstanding, as well as their freshly made salads. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to help, and the cashier, particularly Ally, always greets you with a smile giving this the feel of a local market instead of a chain box grocery store.

So glad Dean's is a part of our town. Delicious foods and numerous choices. Need a quick bite - The chicken salad wrap is pure AWESOMENESS. Smoothies are awesome. Shopping options are plentiful. Educational events, helpful staff and a spotless shopping experience!

Person working the juice bar was incredibly rude and acted as if I was a major inconvenience. They weren’t close to closing time, either. Three stars because the older person who checked me out at the register was super friendly and I enjoy some of the items they have that I can’t find elsewhere.

Wouldn't survive out here without Dean's.They carry items that are perfect for my family and the recent price drops make shopping there a lot easier. Lots of great vegan finds and prepared vegan foods. Had to stay away from this place my entire pregnancy because of the smell of the teriyaki broccoli but thank goodness they only use olive oil on the broccoli now 😂The staff is amazing.Organic smoothie bar is great and they have a wrap station that's a favorite for us when we go.The soups are not made in house and not organic which is definitely confusing - I think they get their soups from the same place as ShopRite.

I would give them more stars if I could. The young man at the juice bar who went above and beyond for me with the jalapeño, many thanks!. Many thanks to the cashier as well. Great employees with amazing attitudes!

At last we have something local for us health foodies! Great place; well-stocked; prices are what is expected for organic produce and groceries. They have great vegan options and the eggless egg salad is to die for. Only complaint is the size of the check-out counter - it's so small you can only fit one item at a time. It's frustrating for customers so I can only imagine how the cashiers feel.

Dean's is a very well organized store, has a large stock of hard to find and healthy foods in the area. as well as some of the friendliest people working there. The cashier and floor people actually remember you and greet you. The only issue I have is with the counter people. On Saturday, I came in with my daughters for the first time to Dean's, and the counter people (a dark haired woman who prepaired our food and supervised the others in making our smoothies and acai bowl), well, my daughters and I found everything scrumptious. Matter of fact, it was all we could speak of in the car ride home. The items we ordered were so good, my daughters begged me to bring them back to Dean's on a weekday. This time, there was a very young girl behind the counter, and even though we placed the same orders, they weren't prepared that well. They just weren't that good. I was so surprised. The acai bowl my daughter had on the weekend (which we all tried), well, if I hadn't ordered a sandwich, I would have had one myself. It's an art to make a delicious dessert. During the week, it was more of a, sorry to say, glop.We will be back, and if the slightly older brunette (maybe in her 20's, but older than the rest) is behind the food counter, we'll certainly put in our orders. But seriously, where else, unless you take a day and go into NYC, will you find such a fine selection of healthy and organic food.

Gluten free people beware, today my daughter ordered a gluten free açaí bowl at the Chester location and was served one with non gluten free granola. Since she has had açaí bowls at Deans before she realized that it tasted different and stopped eating and questioned the employee who made it. The employee was completely unconcerned by what had happened and seemed unaware why this would be a health issue for someone who needs to be gluten free. Very surprising since this is a health food store where people with dietary restrictions eat and shop.****edited to add that I emailed Jill and this is a quote from her reply:“However, that being said I would always advise against anyone with a severe food allergy from ordering from our kitchen as we are not a gluten free or allergen free facility - so there is always a chance of cross contamination.”Hard to imagine that a health food store offers prepared foods labeled gluten free, vegan, vegetarian, etc in both the cafe and to go display case but doesn't have prep protocols in place to ensure that the food isn’t cross contaminated.

I had the same experience as Barb. I stood at the order area while the 2 employees behind the counter were chopping up stuff. Never even looked up or acknowledged me. A woman came out from the back and saw me and kept going. I kind of messed around with the menu and finally an unsmiling girl behind the counter came over and asked if I wanted to place an order like it was highly unusual and she was this overworked person. After replying yes she pointed me to the premade sandwiches around the corner which I previously took a pass on. Said they were fresh and if she made me one I would have to wait awhile. The place was empty?? Anyway they weren’t fresh. Tasted like a soggy sandwich leftover from an office lunch. I don’t understand the point of that counter if they are so adverse to actually making something to order. Won’t bother again.

This is a nice local natural foods market. The store is small so there is not a tremendous selection, but they do carry a nice variety of items. The place also has a small selection of hot and prepared foods and a juice bar. The prices seem a bit high, but the staff is friendly and helpful.

I have given this location too many opportunities and frankly I am just done. My VERY first experience was the Monday following their opening weekend (I had been out of town and couldn't be sadder to participate on grand opening. I'm a dietetic student and one of my hobbies is researching healthy food for good pricing, when I heard Dean's Market was coming to my town I was ecstatic!) That day I went to the juice bar only to not be welcomed, a simple hello, or even an acknowledgement with eye contact. I've worked food and retail so I appreciate it when others gave me time between customers before I moved on to my next customer, so I practiced this technique while trying to hide my excitement and wanting to ask all my questions to the first associate I saw. Patiently standing in front of the juice bar, the guy behind the blenders looks at me, I smile (hoping to get one back... never did) and found myself having a starring contest with him. As my discomfort grew I asked him if he was ready? he replied with, "what do you want?" in a ya ya can we move this along I got things to do tone. I gave my order and proceeded to the check out, which it being my first time, I had no idea that I had to pay at the registers and felt I was going to be asked to leave when I asked where do I go next? The cashier never looked up once and was glued to the screen of her register only muttering my total charges. Then I watched and waited for 25 mins for my 12oz smoothie to be made by the guy who clearly had better places to be. (I worked at a Juice It Up! smoothie shack for 2 years in high school and I can say I could make 10 smoothies in the amount of time it took him to make one - and I was the only customer who had an order! I left feeling as if I had been nothing but a bother to these people and was so angry that my excitement for this store was all for nothing!I took my complaints to my neighbors and they encouraged I make a formal complaint. Which I did only because being in management I understand the value of a customer's complaint and the learning opportunity it can provide to an organization - especially in an area that has competition and I wanted this to be a successful place for me to shop at. I met with one of the corporations managers Tommy - who was so delightful and made me feel that I had good reason to make such a complaint. However, following his meeting, I found myself yet again in the same situation just a few days later. No acknowledgement and leaving feeling as if I had completely wasted another associate's time. I gave up for a few weeks. Then my husband suggested trying them again, without any problems it was a sub-par experience but I would take it over my last few visits. Then I noticed whenever a manager was in the front of the store I got smiles and good customer service. However, when I noticed the associates were left to themselves I saw a lot of horse play and serve lack of customer service. I feel that I can go across the street to Shop Rite and get an equal product in customer service and food choice for less money, then at this location and I worked for Shop Rite - trust me they don't train to be helpful to customers they just need bodies.Another irritating thing I witnessed while waiting for my smoothie one morning, was the phone ringing in the juice bar (this is how I learned you can call ahead and pick up) I stood there watching two associates laugh to each other "I'm not answering you pick it up." "No I answered last time, I'm not doing it again..." "Let's get "Joe" from the back to answer... Hey "Joe" can you answer the phone?" (man from the back walks out picks up a phone that I lost count of how many rings because I was happy but not in a good way to know I'm not the only person who has received terrible service from this location.)I'm sorry Dean's I really tired to give you a chance and I am officially giving up on you. I've shared my concerns with my neighbors and fellow nutrition lovers and they agree the customer service among your associates is the one thing you don't offer.

Dean's has exceptional fresh produce and a great selection of organic foods and natural products including VidaAire. They also offer a wonderful menu of delicious vegan and vegetarian sandwiches and entrees prepared by a creative Chef. Yummy aromas that greet you when you walk in the door..

The efficiency of a compact market, with far and away the most consistently best produce combined with really helpful staff makes Dean’s worth my driving 30 miles to shop there. Organic food well organized so that I don’t have to search long aisles (prevalent in large markets) for the preferred brands makes Dean’s a tremendous time saver as well.l

For the prices charged, I do not expect to be treated the way Dean's employees treat people. I wanted a sandwich made for me, the woman at the counter finally looked up 5 minutes after I filled out the form and said "Just leave it there". She then proceeded to wipe down the counter area by the juices, walk around behind the counter, and make sandwiches to go in the case. After 10 minutes, a gentleman came from the back of the sandwich area. I'm sure the look on my face showed how annoyed I was at standing there and waiting while the woman who works at the sandwich counter did everything but make my sandwich. He asked "how are you?" I advised him that I would be better if I could get a sandwich. Still, no one did anything about making my sandwich. Run, don't walk from this over-priced Whole Foods wanna be.

Great place ! So many vegan options. They also have a "food court" however I didn't get to see what options of food they did have. I did go to the court and the food was amazing! Always enjoy going there.

Same issue as others have had with the cashiers. I have also had a few good experiences as well with them, mainly the ones who are a bit older. But as others mentioned, a few could care less. Management helpful. Product selection good, not out of this world.

The attitude of the cashier during my checkout (middle aged female with dark hair and glasses) was beyond rude. Such an attitude towards customers for no reason. This week was my first time to this place and I wont be returning.
