I've been shopping here since 1995. It's on My way home from work and from the gym. It serves It's purpose. There are long term employees working here as well as new staff. They have most of what I'm looking for. But not everything. No business is perfect. But it's organized, well run, and clean. What more can you ask for? ✌🏾😎

Well, the prices are okay. I worked here with a friend. I moved to another rival company because I had to move towns and started getting paid 21 per hour. Now at 24 since C19. For comparison my friend still only makes over 17 bucks an hour after 5 years. No good.

I love this store and its employees. Carteret is a small town and to have this store here full of food and supplies that have fed me for years is a blessing . I’m truly grateful for everything they do for this town.

Poor customer service. I repeatedly asked the teller is my digital coupon credited towards my order & he said yes each time. Needless to say I was robbed of money after adding my items once home. The store has no intention of righting the error. Spoke to a manger who calls himself “Ray Frazier” & nothing but attitude delivered towards my issue which is ridiculous. Use a calculator as you shop here to avoid being ripped off hard earned money

Review is based on shop from home. Definitely don't recommend doing shop from home at this ShopRite, tried multiple times, each time very unhappy with it, would've been less aggravating and faster if I brought my children in the store and shopped myself

If I had an option to give them negative (-) stars I would have done that but there’s no option to that. My baby was hungry and I had to buy milk. I got there at last minute hoping to buy milk. I saw two register were open and two self checkout were open as well, but they didn’t let me get milk for my baby. I requested there supervisor please for the sake of baby, and she said no. She pointed me towards door “you should’ve got here earlier, I don’t car about baby, you can leave or else i will call security.” I just left but it broke my heart 😢😢😢😢😢😢. Just unacceptable.

I experienced racism for the 4th time in this store. I was verbally attacked and mistreated by customers and employees. I am not at all shocked at the responses that I received from the store but to be considered the aggressor when both of us were yelling is ridiculous. The other parties of the same race were treated gently and were even asked if they were ok and if they needed police. I was ignore at the request of calling the police. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has experienced this and it’s sad that in 2024 we as black women and men have to deal with such misconduct.

It's an older store so the design isn't up to date. There isn't a lot of room in the front of the register area and there aren't that many registers but there is self checkout which is good. All the same departments as any other Shoprite. The store is situated in a shopping area across from a Burger King. It doesn't get too busy. Friendly staff.

Carteret Shoprite is the Shoprite to go to in this area. The store is amazing clean and stocked and staff is courteous and very helpful. I live minutes from another ShopRite but I choose to travel a bit and go to Carteret Shoprite.

This ShopRite is horrible do not shop here my pastries had bugs in it my can goods was expired and the supervisors are very nasty towards the customers my sausages was expired my chicken breast was black and they response are we will give you the money back …I will be taking this further I have pictures of all my bad food at the ShopRite in carteret

Nice store, but it's a little bit of a confusing layout compared to other ShopRite stores. I haven't been able to get the regular Bob Evans brand home style mashed potatoes in family size that are available at other local ShopRite stores, only the "All Natural" variety (which don't taste nearly as good). They also seem to never have Bread and Basket (store brand) white bread. The last major gripe is that there aren't any under the cart racks to put soda and water on, causing food and other items to be squeezed around the larger items in the cart.

The Carteret, NJ weekend delivery guy is the best. I think his name is Jerry. He's great at following instructions. Never any issues. Customer service is great also.

This is a great store. All of the employees, managers, and especially the store manager are very friendly and helpful. The parking is great in comparison to other stores where you risk your car and your life. Very civic minded to the community also.

Worst ShopRite ever management team should be changed they lost the touch with the clients. Every time you find something wrong they pull up excuses then send someone quickly to fix it or cover up plus that is the bad attitude and the reaction that make u really feel they don't care. Unfortunately but very bad Manager.I do have point out the lady's in the cake area and the other one that works in the sea food department they are awesome Manager should be as awesome and kind like them.

I was returning 2 cans of organic sweetened condensed milk that had just been purchased approximately 2 hours prior because the can my wife opened contained mold, which she noticed after emptying the can into a bowl with other ingredients. The moment I asked about compensation for the cost of the other ingredients assistant store manager John Bagnati immediately caught an attitude and got extremely nasty. In addition to rudely saying there would be no compensation he then slammed the unopened can down on the counter in my direction saying he wasn't taking that one back. After I made it clear the store was indeed going to take it back and refund it, he begrudgingly instructed the polite cashier to do so and stormed off to a room behind the service desk. John Bagnati does not have the temperament to be an assistant manager and could use some customer service training. Perhaps this is the result of ShopRite being the only grocery store in Carteret. No competition breeds this type of poor service. Interestingly enough I usually go out of town to Wegmans to do my grocery shopping. My experience today reminded me why.

So I work with a third party app. With that I depend on this store and its employees to be on time with having my shop at home orders ready ON TIME. Well today WAS NOT the first time this store has let me down. I walk in today and again it’s this rude gentleman working in the shop at home department. It seems every time this man works in that department MY ORDERS ARE ALWAYS LATE. I do not live anywhere near Carteret. So today I go in and again this man proceeds to tell me both my orders are going to be over an hour late. AGAIN THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THIS SAME MAN HAS DONE THIS TO ME. Now I proceed to askHim why every time I show up here it’s the same thing. He tells me because the customer has a 2 hour window and it’s not his fault. As if it’s mine. I will be calling corporate to file a formalComplaint. This is unacceptable. I stated that I would be calling corporate and very rudely and extremely sarcastically he says “thank u” his attitude and laziness is insulting and shows the level of poor customer service that this store allows its employees to follow. I can assure u I HAVE NEVER EVER EVER had to deal with this from ANY OTHER SHOPRITE!!!! EVER! Clearly the problemIs him and the proper lack of training. This store needs to do better. I can assure you I will never step foot in this location again as a customer or a third party employee.

Convenient to our home. Only issue we have is watch how they stock the sale priced items. For example, one brand of brown eggs was on sale in recent weeks for $1.49 with digital coupon. My husband came home with the eggs and said the sign was clearly there with a stack of brown eggs and they stocked another brand of eggs in that spot. Just make sure you got the right size, brand.... of an item on sale that you wish to purchase. Most employees and cashiers very helpful and friendly.

It was ok. The bathroom didn't have a vent so after a shower the mirror was sweaty and it was hot. No breakfast!!! Check out time is 11 not 12 like the website says. Otherwise it wasn't bad.

Disappointed in bakery dept. Didn't have bread I wanted or other items. Meat dept helpful. One of the butchers went in back to get fresh meat I wanted..thank you. Otherwise not busy. Deli person took so long slicing and put 3-4 pieces of paper on each product.

Two different occasions I have bought the 2 slice golden layer cake with fudge icing and both times there was a hair in it. Place is disgusting. Go to the Woodbridge location. Avoid this place at all cost.

This is my neighborly every week food shopping supermarket. I find to really like this supermarket. The parking lot size is pretty dicent, everything is always clean organized, never really to crowded , there cashiers are fast and friendly. And everything is fresh the bakery gives out free cookies as well 😁
