We live in Cape May County and support our local animal shelter. We went through a very sad period when we lost a very special member of our family. I filled out an application to look at a dog and we were called a few days after. The family went up to meet some hopefully new friends. They took into consideration our recent loss and what we were looking for. We were told about a few pups that may fit our family style with the kiddos. Well… this guy comes out! He was the happiest, bouncy, and fun loving pup that stole all of our hearts. We decided right then that this big boy was coming home with us! The staff and volunteers there are so kind and compassionate for all the animals there. The facility is clean despite all of their messy house guests! LolThere is so many wonderful kitties and puppies waiting for their fur-ever home!Our pup has settled in nicely. He loves going outside to sniff his yard and loves to play! He’s a great addition to our family!

We met these young cat brothers at Petsmart & fell in love instantly. After an easy application process we got to meet them in person. I think he knew he was going home with that smile on his face. Once home they were instantly happy and playing. With the 1st vet visit free we were able to get them checked out to be sure their colds cleared up.Huge thank you for helping us complete our Lil family 👪 ❤️

I just started to trap neuter release for cats in my area. The staff is very polite, friendly and extremely caring. I wish more people would get involved with TNR, especially when you have people that are so eager to help with the process. They have made my first experience less stressful and thanked us. They deserve the thanks. They are fantastic.

I was looking for a forever friend and fell in love with “Olive” at Petsmart. With a quick application process, the next day I was able to schedule an appointment and meet her in person. I took her home that day. She is the sweetest, cuddliest kitty in the entire world and we love her so much. This animal shelter is the best! Tilly is a healthy, happy kitty.

The people that work at this shelter are the most kind helpful generous people.Thanks to chrissy , who three people at a pet food store told me how fabulous she is and how much she loves animals and will do anything to help them. But everyone that works there is amazing

My boy Doc/Doctor Peppa is doing very well after adopting him this past summer. I feel his enormous appetite was understated "he does like to eat!", but it is part of his charm :-) This shelter does important work

Although the dog we went to see did not get along with our two present dogs the folks here were more than willing to help us. The dogs and cats are very well taken care of. The place is one of the best shelters we have seen. All the dogs are spayed with all their shots and even have flea and tick protection. We travelled 2 hours to see Thor a three year old mix. My wife and I really liked him but my dogs did not. Kudos to everyone at the shelter.

The entire staff of this shelter is just wonderful. They ask what you are looking for and advise accordingly. Crystal showed us Peeps who is now Quincy and we just love him and he loves us. Thank you to the entire staff and volunteers for all you do.

I visited 3 different shelters in the county over the past 2 months. I ended up adopting Redd who is both a big time trouble maker and lap fungus. Kudos to the staff! There are a ton of dogs and cats there that deserve a good home.

The place where I'm living doesn't allow animals and they told us we had to get rid of our cat. So we had to take her to the animal shelter and they held her until we could get her back. They took such great care of her and we are grateful that this Service is here in Cape May County. ❤️❤️

I went in to fill an application to adopt a puppy or foster a puppy which is highly unlikely because they rarely receive puppiesI prefer to Foster but I don't think they have a fostering programThat's why I went to the Cape May ANIMAL SHELTER . On Moore Road Cape May Court House NJ 08210 EXIT 11 off the GSP GARDEN STATE PARKWAYAs soon as I walked iinside a beautiful cat came up wanted me to pet him.All the cats so sweetthere very clean so friendly I wanted to take all them home .I've been there before and I had the same experience they do take care of their animals and they do keep facilities clean I've been to shelters some were okay some weren'tit was almost the end of the day when I got thereThe staff was very kind and helpful .The staff are amazing Probably volunteers. Far as I can see They do a great job at the shelterthey need more people to donate whatever they can or donate your time or even adopt a dog or catI saw some beautiful cats yesterday and if I could I would take them all home with meA little tip they say if you have an animal in your life you live longer healthier and happier and you'll be saving a life . So if you have the means the time and love go adopt either a cat or dog🐅🐾🐈🐾🐯🐶🐾🐕💜 🐕‍ 🐾🐕

We had two meet-and-greets with a very large dog with a bite history. He bit a human, not a dog and yet they were fixated on our current dog. They claimed they wanted to make sure that he wasn’t going to bully her. Well they couldn’t have been too concerned because neither visit was he taken out of his cage before we got there. Seriously. Both visits we got there after one in the afternoon and he hadn’t been out yet. When we got there, they got him out of his cage, put a muzzle on him, and expected things to go well. And really, things went as well as they could have because he is a very sweet and good dog. Our second visit was on a Wednesday and we were told we would get a call the next day for follow-up, which we didn’t. When we finally got a call after two on Friday we were told that we had to come back Saturday and again Wednesday and then maybe at that point they might consider possibly letting us take him after that. When we asked what the concerns were, we were told that they didn’t feel like we were taking the bite history seriously enough. Really? I understand being thorough with a dog that has had a history, but it sure didn’t seem like they were putting any effort in on their end to ensure success. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

I got my Husky puppy microchipped. They had it done before I even started the paperwork! They were sweet, helpful, and caring. The one girl even helped me bring stuff out to my car (including the puppy) as my hands were full with a sleeping 1 year old and my rambunctious 3 year old was tagging along since it was the middle of school break. She even commented on how well my 3 year old was being nice and petting one of the shelter cats. Which to me was a proud mama moment.

We have recently adopted our new fur baby Max - formerly known as "Herb" from here. He is a pit mix about a year and a half old and is a big boy. The staff was amazing and helpful in every way. Max had issues with new people and anxiety pretty bad when we first met him. We visited him every day for 6 days bringing him treats and getting him used to us. We live about 45 minutes from the shelter and they brought him over on January 4th for a home visit and he has been with us ever since. Shelter life was really rough on his delicate emotional state and I am happy to report that he has since thrived being home. We couldn't ask for a better or more well behaved dog. The volunteers there really take excellent care of their animals and know them really well. They were just as happy as we were for Max aka Herb to find his forever home. The staff is extremely dedicated to finding the perfect pet for your family needs and are always available to answer any questions that you may have and give their personal phone numbers for you to contact them if needed. They were very good about making sure that our fur baby was adapting to his new life and were so happy to find out how well he is doing. I would recommend anyone that is looking to adopt to give them a visit. They really make their animals a priority. We couldn't be happier. Thank you all so much.

The people that work/volunteer there are very much animal people. They interview before you can adopt. And observe you interacting with the animal you want to adopt. I was impressed with their knowledge of each animal.

We have adopted 2 cats from this shelter in 2011 and 2012, whom have meant so much to us. The adoption experience was so smooth, filling out an application and simple fee. Our cats had been properly vetted, spayed/neutered, and vaccinated. The staff were also so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. When we adopted our second cat, Bruce, the attendant led us straight to him and told us that he craved human attention. He was indeed climbing over the other cats and meowing incessantly to be let out and given affection. We were touched to be able to take him from shelter life and bring him to a forever home, and we'll be forever grateful to this shelter for taking in and rehoming so many cats.

This shelter and the staff are hands down amazing! Everyone is so helpful. The animal's are all healthy and happy. It's clean! I went in for help with my cat. They took her in checked her out and is helping with the vet bill. Everyone is so nice and helpful. They really do care!

We adopted a little Chihuahua "Yoda" a few years ago. He was the love of our life. He was very old but loved us as we him. He has since passed but the time we had with him could never be replaced. Had a great experience with them! Very friendly.

Just adopted our third pet from the Cape May Animal Shelter. Dora is doing fine and is a wonderful little dog. Every pet ( 2 dogs and a cat) we have adopted from here have been great additions to our family and have enriched our lives.This shelter is immaculate and the animals are well cared for.

Just sitting here watching my kitty Kat Quincy napping and so happy we brought him into our lives. We got the former "Peeps" at the end of April 2017. We lost our 15 year old kitty and we were very sad. But......this delightfully funny, happy, playful and handsome boy entered our lives. He brings such laughter and joy to our lives. Thank you to the entire staff of this great shelter for matching our personalities to this amazing cat.

My son and I just adopted Bella, a four year old black lab and pit mix. I have never met or seen a more well behaved dog. This dog acts as if she's lived with us for years (after only 3 days). She already knows our routines, never makes a mess, and always follows commands. I cannot speak highly enough about the staff at the shelter. I was looking at one dog, and they recommended this one as a better fit for my son and I. They hit the ball out of the park on this one! Thank you

My fiancé and I adopted a cat from the shelter today. From beginning to end the staff was wonderful! I was super anxious to bring my new fur baby home and they were super patient with my questions & phone calls checking on my application status. The staff do an amazing job. Best experience adopting a pet! Every single person we talked to was friendly and so helpful! Our two new Barn Buddies are the cutest! **** Eliza and Jasper (now Dumpling and Captain named by our kids) are doing great! They are now out of the shed but still stick close by. Eliza is more outgoing. She already loves to play with my husband and his fishing pole mouse toy he made her. He can pet her and she's eatting treats from our hands. Jasper is a bit more nervous but he loves a good game of catch with the treats and has played a little with my husband also. He will come stand right near us but not mucn for the pet yet but getting close. :)

We called the shelter about an aggressive dog we received from them. We called 2 or 3 times. All times someone would “get back to us”. Nobody called back. Now, I have a bite mark on my face and a family member was brought to the emergency room for a bite on the knee. We called to prevent something like this from happening.
