I don’t normally post reviews but here I’ll make an exception. My 5 year old Clydesdale has had an issue with a locking stifle his entire life. I have tried various methods to correct the problem such as supplements, estradiol, extended exercise on hills, over cavelettis, etc but to no avail. Dr Marybeth suggested we might try laser therapy treatments on his stifle. I must admit my expectations were not very high, but I thought I’d give it a chance.Dr. Marybeth administered seven treatments each lasting about 10 minutes over a period of 2 1/2 weeks. The results were not only amazing to me but to my trainer and farrier who both noticed a dramatic improvement in his movements. Thank you Dr. MB from both River and myself.His new found flexibility and ease of motion now have me thinking of having the same kind of treatments on my aching back!!

We just moved to this area acouple months ago and ofcourse one of our dogs wasn't feeling well and I had to find a veterinarian close by. I called on a Saturday and told the receptionist the issue and she told me to bring my dog in for 10am. When I got there the office was super clean. Everyone that worked there was so friendly! We saw Dr. Martin and I can't say enough nice things about her. She is so compassionate and funny and puts you & your pet at ease. I am so thankful for her help! We found our new veterinarian!!! My 4 month old Bernese Mountain Dog suddenly started vomiting repeatedly. I called Califon Animal Hospital and was told to bring her in immediately. Dr. MaryBeth determined that she had a blockage in her small intestine. Instead of operating immediately, since the puppy wasn’t in distress, she decided to see if the obstruction would move on its own. She gave her barium mixed with food. Nine hours later she expelled a 13 inch toy! I was so grateful that Drs. MaryBeth and Jeff both took the route of least resistance first and didn’t think surgery was the only option!!! I have been a client for over 20 years and trust their judgement completely.

Our cats have received such excellent care from these folks. We've had success tackling even some serious health issues including oral surgery, and all because of their expertise. They were able to see my dog on a same day appointment when she was very sick, when our own vet was not able to see her. They were very caring and took time looking over our dog. This will now be our regular vet in the future! Highly recommend.

I can not say enough wonderful things about this veterinary practice. Even though I have just relocated to this area and have not yet had a visit the staff are amazingly courteous and extremely helpful!I have reached out to the vet twice with questions about my dogs and a vet promptly returned my call and was very knowledgeable and helpful.They seem to really care about the animals and that is an important aspect of quality veterinary care!I am thrilled that I found them since I was upset to leave my previous vet which is now too far from my new home.Thank you Califon Animal Hospital for being there when we needed you! They entire staff is great and treat our pets with love and respect.Recently (mid October), we had to put our cat down - the vet and the vet tech were crying with us and apologized four our loss. They loved him as much as we did.

My family has recently moved out of the area, but I wish I could do more than write a review to thank Mary Beth. She took care of my horses and family's dogs for so long that I feel like she's part of the family.My animals were NOT the easiest to handle. I have the spookiest quarter horse I've ever met and I had a very nervous pit bull. Both of them ended up having complicated bills of health. Mary Beth handled them affectionately and I feel her expertise greatly enhanced their qualities of life.Mary Beth also always has done whatever she can to cut costs for us. Having horses is, unanimously, expensive! But we have always appreciated her efforts to let us do whatever we can do so we didn't have to pay to have it done.Aside from being consistently current on her education, compassionate and affordable, Mary Beth is just - cool! She's a very interesting and lovely person to be around.My family and I are also thankful to the staff at Califon- we have called you in emotional panics so many times throughout the years and THANK YOU for understanding.Cavallo, Belle, Tyrone and Scully are all doing well! Our 7 year old Labrador retriever had a seizure last August and our vet was not available, so we called Califon Animal Hospital and without any hesitation at all they took her right in and Dr. Sal gave her a full exam. She is now a permanent patient there and we could not be more pleased with Dr. Sal and his staff. They are kind, caring, concerned and so friendly. We would highly recommend this practice to everyone.

Our dog had an infection due to a cracked tooth. Dr. Sal performed an extraction, x-rays and a thorough cleaning. Our dog came through like a trooper because of Dr. Sal's expertise. Dr. Sal and staff are courteous, professional, caring and understanding. We are not living in the area but were recommended because not many vets have the equipment or expertise to perform this type of operation. Our dog is family and we were able to enjoy Christmas with a healthy, happy and pain free little girl! We highly recommend this hospital.

Took great care to make my pet comfortable/relaxed re: chronic ear issues. Actually solved the issue whereas prior vet facility roped pet in for regular return visits for very costly ear meds. Very happy with this facility, staff wonderful/pleasant.
