I have no good things to say here. It’s actually shocking how bad it was. The general non friendliness/ hostility there aside, I got a plain roast beef sandwich on rye and a rum ball. As a deli you’d really have to try hard to screw that up.The bread was so dry as to be crunchy and the roast beef was equally as dry and difficult to swallow. I ate half and am throwing the rest away out of concern of food safety issues. Why not get fresh food for your establishment? The rum ball is just pure sugar and cheap chocolate. The kicker - the absolute mind blowing kicker is that a small inedible sandwich and one - ONE rum ball cost me $15.00 FIFTEEN DOLLARS?! Are you kidding?Every other deli in the area has decent sandwiches for $7. This was not worth that - So is a rum ball $8?! EIGHT DOLLARS?! I need answers here. How do people get away with this?As a final note - no bags? Why should people fumble with dry sandwiches, an $8 rum ball and orange coleslaw while finding their car keys. I’m not asking for the world here, just to get edible food and a bag. This was shamefully bad.

We've stopped in before for pastries which were good but breakfast was a disaster. No one in there except for myself & husband placing order. Then local walks in & mature woman tells counter girl how he takes his bagel, another person in for prepared salads to and so on. You get the picture. Meanwhile my husband & I are still waiting for our meal. Breakfast should have been out to us by the third person. You need to revise the menu you serve or get additional kitchen help.

I asked what was on the Cuban sandwich, I didn’t actually order it. They put the order in but never gave me a choice of bread and being it was rye I cannot eat seeds as I have an allergy to them. So I had to pick each seed out. They should have asked if I wanted it on a roll, etc. Or better yet tell me what it was on so I would know if it had seeds. Just don’t say “Cuban sandwich” and no description. Even one of the girls didn’t know what was on it. I also got a few smiley face cookies. They were not good. Very dry and zero taste. The older women there were SO rude and short tempered. Didn’t smile whatsoever. Everyone looked miserable. They should be thankful people are giving them business. In fact my friend had raved about how great it is. I’d like to know how long ago that was because one of the older ladies looked as if she had never smiled or enjoyed life at all. This was my first and last time going there. I hear such “great” reviews but the service was horrible. They acted as if you are inconveniencing them.

The BEST pastries around! Always well worth the drive! Definitely recommend the Napoleans, Chocolate Eclairs, Canolis, and bakery cookies. They have many other items to offer (not just desserts!) too including made-to-order sandwiches, pasta salads, and more! You're missing out if you don't stop here!

Stumbled upon this place while driving back to New York. Very friendly staff and homey atmosphere. Ordered the bacon/egg/cheese sandwich and a ham sandwich with potato salad. Both were delicious and fresh! Almond croissants was very good with real almond paste. Best part they had a bear cookie 🤗

My son LOVES the rum balls here! However, the eclairs and cannolis are my favorites. Great place to pick up some tasty treats.

Although it's a half-hour drive from home, we make the pilgrimage with some regularity. While they are a very good deli, we go there for their bakery offerings. Whenever we bring Yelliw Cottage cakes ir pastries to a gathering of family or friends, they're always met with a similar question: These are incredible; Where did you get them?We brought their signature Brown Derby cake to a friend's house this past weekend, and it was incredible!

I always love stopping by for my Smiley cookies on my way to PA to see the waterfall being a girl born and raised in Sandyston. I was surprised to find them closed today 1/18/23 when Google maps stated they were open. I honor your rest for the month of January but please update Google maps so my drive can have me enjoying my favorite smiley face cookies! Much love to you!

Popped in to satisfy my midday sweet tooth. Not only were their delicious Apple Turnovers BOBO, also received a sample of Pumpkin Pie! Bakery had a fantastic selection, extremely friendly ladies, and terrific hours.

Great little place, we have passed by it for years and finally stopped in. Friendly staff and great quality baked goods. Great kaiser rolls for our breakfast sandwiches, definitely a place to stop at for our camping trips in the area.

Big delishous sandwiches and good coffee! They also have variety of pastries. We stayed in Cobmin Ridge Motel right across the deli and it was very convenient for us. By the way the motel is the treasure- rooms are beautiful, unique and functional. Huge smart TV's. The deli was recommended by my friends who stayed at the motel in the past and I would agree- sandwiches and dessert are really good. I did not try every dessert yet though, but they all look good!

Place is Alright, Staff was very friendly and Italian Sub was very good. Nice selection of homestyle soda. Disappointed in my cheesesteak though. Beef was rancid tasting and was all uniformly cut like it came out of a box or something. Sandwich bread was mush by the time I unwrapped it. Seemed expensive for something that didn't taste right.

Rude, small portions, inaccurate orders, and extremely overpriced. I’ve never been to a deli where they don’t load the sandwich high with ingredients - our sandwiches had 3 slices of turkey each! When I walked in the door, the lady rudely said to me “the order was just called in 5 minutes ago.” I said no problem, but I could at least pay now. I stood there for 15 mins and no one bothered to ring me up while she made the rest of the sandwiches. One of the sandwiches was wrong and when I told her it was a food allergy, she tried just taking it off the sandwich - as opposed to replacing the sandwich. Lastly, the PRICE… 4 deli sandwiches on hard/round rolls with 5 cookies $49. Plenty more and better options for that kind of money. Cookies were great but staffing and sandwiches were below avg, keep driving and go to the next deli. I sure hope they read this review and improve - or during times like now, they will be out of business.

I went to the yellow cottage for the first time the other day. I had always heard good reviews about it. I purchased 4 sandwiches and 1 cheesecake. The owner who served me was very rude, but I let that go. The sandwiches were good, I have no complaints about them, but the cheesecake was terrible. Three different people tasted the cake and all came to the same conclusion, YUK! I do not believe they put any sugar in their mix. The cake tasted like pure cream cheese. Too bad I didn’t have a bagel. When I called the next day to complain and return the left overs, the owner said, oh no, we used sugar and will not reimburse me for the cake. I said, fine, I’ll write a review.

Friendly staff and great bakery selection. I read some reviews of people saying they have “big city prices”…… when was the last time you went to the city??? Yellow cottage is reasonably priced and overall great selection.

Update: Tried giving this business a second chance 2 years later and she’s still as nasty as ever. She actually hung up on me when I was going to place a cake order. NEVER again!!The brown derby cake is good but the woman there is beyond rude. I was trying to support a local business but I would rather take my business elsewhere. This lady needs to learn manners.

The bakery is absolutely wonderful, however the sandwiches are a bit hit or miss. Staff is new and learning So if you are in a rush, you might want to find a different place to grab a sandwich

I ordered an egg and cheese with sausage sandwich on a roll. Wow. It was very good. I loved the bread. I loved how they put the cheese and sausage between the eggs. I took one star off because it was a very confusing place and zero social distancing. They were calling people up to the counter before i could even move out of the way. But i will deffently be back for sure.

If you like baked goods, this is one of the best in the county. The rum balls are rich, the brown derby cake is a fun mix of fruit, whipped cream and chocolate. Most is made in house. I've heard the sandwiches are good, but we've not partaken. Some frozen items, and decent bread. A good stop on your way along Rt. 206. Oh, and if your in foodie-mood, Dale's Market is on the other side of the road a bit - fun rural market with great meats and sandwiches.

It's a local bakery that I have dealt with for over 35 years. When I lived in Pa. we made the trek here and now that we are local, so much the better. As a native New Yorker, they have real Italian pastries. And you have not lived until you have had a Brown Derby (their specialty). I have never had a problem with any of their products (as my waistline can testify to), and I find Jackie a friendly and warm person. I recommend this business - you'll never go wrong.

My wife and I are very disappointed with the yellow cottage. This place has gone down hill from when I started going there. There wasn't a lot of selections of baked goods. The salads looked tired and old. We bought 4 apple turn over which had no apples in them. We spent $40 and it was a waste of money and time. I had to give it a star. If it was up to me I'd gave it 0 stars. Some memories should be left in the past

Baked goods and sandwiches are awesome. Fresh and much variety. General impression of the stow is that it could be cleaner and neater. Dresser scarves and other linen goods for sale are an eyesore and have no place in the store. It’s messy and they fall on the floor. Just not a good look!

Went there today 9/9/22- Asked for a Caesar chicken salad and paid extra for avocados. The salad was made with plain lettuce. 3 cube size pieces of avocado and 5 tiny pcs of chicken. No Parmesan cheese. It was so plain my 6 year old could have made it. Horrible salad. Literally plain lettuce with 1/2” size of chicken (5 pcs). Got Half Turkey sub and the bread was so dry. Got cup cake for my husband. It was probably 1 week old. Bad bad bad experience. Won’t be back 👎

I go to this bakery when I need to bring something to a special occasion because the baked good, cakes, and eclairs are out of this world. Unfortunately, every time I go there the women is very rude and lacks customer service she is always rushing. They always manage to leave out part of my order whether it is the chocolate chip cookies or a cheesecake shame on me for not double checking but they package it up for you behind the counter so you would expect them to get your order correct.
