I found Hidden Pastures while looking for spinning lessons for myself and a friend. We ended up coming twice to learn to spin, and I also brought my daughter for a farm tour another day. Everything was fantastic. Natalie is great and patient teacher, Mary and Liz were willing to help and give us tips to improve our spinning, and I especially appreciated that Natalie was willing to help me get my mothers spinning wheel oiled, adjusted and working properly. I'm now determined to learn this tricky art/craft thanks to all of them. The farm tour was also delightful--it was a cold and windy day, but we were able to meet Zak the Yak and go out in the pasture with the alpaca and feed them by hand. Best of all, my daughter got to hold an angora rabbit and baby goat. Everyone was kind and full of information about the animals and their care. Rascal the perpetually fetching dog was another favorite. The shop is a treasure trove of yarn and fiber from the farm as well as other knitted goods made from soft and warm alpaca.

Went to visit this beautiful farm this past Sunday (1/29/2023). All I can say is it was a truly wonderful experience, and I highly recommend taking the tour if you are into animals. Mike was so nice and you can tell he really loves his animals. All the animals were also so sweet and loving, we will definitely be returning for warm weather fun!

Nice selection of alpaca and other knit wear. Treat yourself to alpaca socks, your feet will thank you! Holiday shopping is easy here, or at their farmers market events. You can find something nice for anyone on your list. The socks come in a range of colors, styles and thicknesses to suit anything. There is a variety of gloves, mitten, fingerless gloves, convertible mitten, etc styles. Also, beautiful scarves for men or women. And you get to see the herd of alpacas, plus yaks even a swan!

This is hands down the best farm in New Jersey. We have been to several in New Jersey and nothing else comes close. There are a lot of animals including alpacas, goats, ducks, rabbits, cats etc. The animals are adorable and very friendly. The owner Mike is a great guy. He clearly loves his animals and we really love how he gives the tour, interacts with the guests and his animals. Must visit!!

A lovely and unique farm, visitor friendly with a fiber shop, 150 animals - yaks, alpacas, rabbits, goats, chickens, cows... and a tent campground where the alpacas roam past your site. Oh and an Airbnb cottage too.

Highly Recommend!!What an amazing time. We drove in and as we got out our car we received the most warming and amazing welcome from Rascal the most good Doggie ever. He found a stick and we played fetch for a bit while waiting for the rest of the groups to arrive. He then returned with a tennis ball for some more much needed fetch time. He was so cute.We where then shown around the farm and given an Alpaca each to walk. The walk is very easy going and everyone is assured if needed. The alpacas where all calm and overly cute. You get introduced to the other animals on the farm and taught many useful fun facts about them.I highly recommend coming up and experiencing this for yourself. You may find that secret life you never knew you wanted and become a farmer yourself, or at least move close enough to visit one. They also have a lovely shop with amazing prices on all items. I honestly cannot wait to return with the little ones and see their reactions.

Mike was a great host. It was a great experience. The animals were friendly. Even the dog was friendly. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars because I thought it would be more educational and we thought we were going to get to hold a duck and rabbit. But the experience with the llama, alpacas, yak and goats was great. We held a baby goat which was very theraputic. We look forward to visiting again in the spring.

Beautiful farm, wonderful people, cute animals. We had the pleasure of going to their Easter event. The price is very reasonable and our almost 2yr old loved to feed the alpacas, goats and turkey šŸ˜Šā¤ļø. We will definitely visit again!!

It was a great experience. Mike led us around, feeding and petting various farm animals. Highlight was Racsal, the untiring dog who did not want to stop playing fetch.

My family had such a great time here and the people who run this place are so friendly and kind. We paid $25 for the family (2 adults and 2 toddlers) to feed the alpacas, lamas, goats, sheep, and horses. We got a free pumpkin and the food to feed the animals was free as well. We were there for about an hour but if you want to be there longer u can. We really enjoyed this place and would recommend anyone to visit as well!

Wonderful experience! Gracious host and didn’t get spit on by the alpacas. There’s a boarder collie that would follow you along the tour to make you play catch with him!

Wonderful place with lovely owners, who will happily tell you about their herd. Feeding and petting the alpacas (so many soft alpacas!) in their pasture was so much fun. Highly recommend, not just for kids. Make you you get some warm socks too!

Do not look at the alpacas by the parking area. Go straight to the store. They will come out and yell if you do. There is no clear signage indicating this but even though the alpacas are right next to the store in open view, you’re not allowed to look at the animals without a paid tour or permission from the owner. There is a sign that says you can’t walk around, which is very vague since the animals are in the parking lot. The people who work there unfortunately have no idea how to communicate as humans either in written form or in-person.

Great place to take the kids and to learn about Alpacas and other animals they have. The owner is patient and willing to take his time so you enjoy the visit. My kids and us had a great time.

What a wonderful shopping experience, even on a rainy day, seeing the alpacas, yaks, and even a swan! There's a large variety of merchandise in the farm store, much of it made of alpaca, which is so soft and warm. Something for everyone on my gift list!
