Beautiful but the trails get confused after the yellow trail if you are not careful and try to look for the white trail. Be careful not to fall in the water when you are crossing because it ca be slippery.

Nice shorter hike. I would recommend to come here when it hasn't rained. The water crossings were a bit tricky with no dry path across the rocks.

It's a nice hike. About a 4 mile loop. Trails are well marked. If you start: yellow- teal, white, orange and finally blue -you will complete the loop. No restrooms - the big green taiga is endless. Beautiful view of two creeks, remains of an old paper mill and old dam. There were a couple of other hikers but not too many. Rocky and moderately steep. In early spring when there are no leaves you can see farther.Playground: NoRestrooms: NoDog-friendliness: Very rockyPicnic area: No

Beautiful place to hike and and experience nature. Some parts are uphill and downhills but not an overly challenging hike. The ricer is a nice place to sit at. Open dawn till dusk.

The hike is really pretty, especially the blue trail section with the bridge.Biggest issue though is that the maps of the trail don't match up with the actual trail and blaze colors have been changed but not updated and getting lost is far too easy.Restrooms: No restrooms in the parking area or on trail.

Epic hiking with a wide variety of terrain. There is flat rail-trail hiking along the Musconetcong river which also has a canal that used to supply water to the nearby paper plant. There is also on the white trail a spectacular climb of 400 feet in just 1/2 mile of trail which works out to a very steep 15 pct grade. The majority of the trail is winding and rocky and not easy. I can't wait to go back.

Very rocky and steep hike with multiple stream crossings. Trails could have been marked better. Followed the sound of water and found a hidden waterfall.

For a person who lives in Monmouth County were there are no rocks, this was a challenging hike. It was beautiful. Loved the waterfalls, boulders, and view from the top. I definitely needed my hiking poles. No bathroom.

Awesome hiking spot. Beautiful scenery, and some challenging spots, but not too challenging. My 5 year old can handle this hike like a champ.

Had a great hike on the teal trail. Hiked from Dennis road to the gorge. There is a beautiful stream with waterfalls and lots of boulders. Can't wait to explore the steeper portions of the teal trail on the other side of the creek as well as all of the other trails in the gorge.

Beautiful forested trail. The different trails are clearly marked. You should use the AllTrails app to make sure to make the correct turns. It is easy to go from one trail to another without noticing. This is marked as moderate but it is more moderate-difficult. Steep climbs and decents. Lots of different foliage. I went at 7:30am on a Sunday and only saw one other person hiking the opposite direction after an hour and a half. Be aware that there are no views because the forest is very dense. Great for a Summertime hike on a hot day. Definitely wear hiking boots. Not a great trail for sneakers. Also, not for mountain biking nor running.

Nice trail. Some rocks and roots to navigate but nothing too challenging. Came across on mb a few other people even on a Saturday. Trail well maintained and marked with blazes.

Great hike with the pup. Definitely some strenuous sections, but moderate hike overall. Trails were clearly marked. We went from Blue to Orange to White to Yellow which is the full loop. Took us maybe 90 minutes.

Wow! We were pleasantly surprised at all the "finds" that can be explored here. Some trails can be rough and rocky. A lot of climbing.

Great hike - easy enough for kids but fun enough with ups and downs for adults.

Enjoyable post-holiday hike. Wear sturdy shoes, very rocky and slick when fallen leaves are wet.

There's nothing quite like this hike in this part of New Jersey. If you walk the full length of the blue trail you will experience two beautiful streams, and lots of great scenery along the way. I consider this trail to be moderate to strenuous depending on how far you go.If you start at the Dennis Road parking area the hike to the first stream is moderate. If you proceed up the steep slope on the other side of the stream and continue along the ridge, you will likely find it very strenuous.

Great little hike. The water running down the gorge makes for calm and soothing nature sounds.

Trails were not well marked and confusing. I would rate this as “hard” for NJ. Trails are well maintained and well traveled. Adjacent road attracts a lot of ATV’s which were loud.

The trail was a good work out with the husband and kids. I would say that the trail is moderate in most parts but difficult in others due to slippery rocks in the path. We saw a lot of toads which made the kids excited. The reason I only gave three stars is because there is way too much poison ivy on the trail. I know this trail is maintained by volunteers; however it was really stressful to watch my kids not be able to maneuver around the copious amounts of ivy everywhere. The trail needs to be widened/weeded in many spots because it has almost grown shut with poison ivy and other vegetation. Just wear long pants when you go until it is cleaned up. I will not return until the poison ivy has died back around November.

Great hikes, though the trails were more challenging than expected. Definitely only for moderate to experienced hikers. The trail head was impossible to find! We had to stop and ask for directions. But the scenery is wonderful and the trails are clearly marked

What a diverse place! Winding paths, beautiful boulders and waterfalls, bridges, canals and rivers...I spend 4 hours here and didnt even scratch the surface. Some areas don't have a set path when crossing the rocks so make sure you have your footing. Very fun area...no benches or picnic tables though...at least not that we found.

Great place to hike. Just make sure to download the maps to follow along the route. Took little children along; it was challenging for them but they really enjoyed.
