My family has gone to Blackwood Animal Hospital for over 30 years. I love that I can call, and everyone knows me and my animals. Lisa is best i always ask to talk to her she has worked there as long as my family has gone there. A few years ago, my dog passed away while in their hospital from illness that he couldn't recover from. All the staff cried right along with us. The staff here becomes family. They will love and care for your family pet like their own.

Brought our dog in for a few check ups and they were very helpful everytime! We had a senior dog who ended up having a very bad seizure one day. When we called they said we could come in right away, and helped my sister bring her in the hospital. They started treatment right away on her. Unfortunately it was a situation that no one could do anything for. They were very kind to us and gave us our options and walked us through what we had to do. The whole thing went down in under 2 hours and they were super professional. Afterwards they sent us a letter in the mail with her paw prints and even when we went to pick up her Urn they put a ceramic paw print in there of her for us. Would 1000% go back to them for any other animal I would have.

I have been coming here for over 35 years first as a pet owner and then with my Shih Tzu babies. I am so heart sick over the loss of Dr Joe, but you would think that you would like to retain his clients as well. I am moving on and hoping to find another office that is patient oriented like it was with Dr Joe. Dr Euler was also my pets Doctor and I have never been able to schedule anything since DrJoe left.

This is (IMO) BY FAR the best Animal hospital around!My moms cat had beaten up my ferret one time really bad, and i loved that ferret more than anything. The cat punctured, and tore out the ferrets one eye, and there was a sub-dermal abscess on the ferrets shoulder. The 2 closest Veterinary Hospitals only wanted to put my ferret to sleep. I drove out to the Blackwood Animal Hospital, and showed it to the Vet. He conducted emergency surgery to remove his eye, and seal up the socket, and the abscess. Two days later, my ferret was back to his old self again. The eye socket healed up so well, you would have thought thats how he was born. It was PERFECT 👌🏻.My ferret "Cho Cha" lived for 9 years after that surgery, and he never missed a beat. Those 9 years were some of the best years of my life, in no small part that Cho Cha was there with me. The lives that were made better by my buddy Cho Cha was too many to count, and everyone loved coming over and to see Cho Cha run around like a little psycho and play with everyone. That Vet didn't fix an eye, he changed peoples lives.THERE'S NO REASON TO GO ANYWHERE ELSE

All they care about his MONEY! There is very little compassion for the animals. Oh if you are handing out money hand over fist they will love you. But fall on hard times and they want nothing to do with you!

I brought my puppy here last month, thought I'd try out a closer location than my pets usually go to.The vet seeing my puppy was very knowledgeable and kind to my dog. She did give me important diagnostic information and the visit was positive.Now, if you want your pet's practice to follow up with you in any way at all... That's another story.I was never called or emailed regarding test results or time sensitive concerns that I had.When I called in for these results, I was told that the front desk doesn't receive emails (which isn't true) and the emails all go to the office manager.Even if true, the office manager didn't get back to me either...Mistakes happen and I get that, everyone has oversights happen. My problem is that no one would even take responsibility or apologize for the multiple errors. I'll be going back to Garden State.

Been with Blackwood for over 10 years. Joe Filigno was my main reason. We had several pets come to the office because of the amazing service. Had to put my dog down yesterday, July 27, 2023. Everyone was completely respectful. They gave us plenty of space and time to be alone with Rocky before his last moments. They were very respectful of our privacy.

Dr. Caserta and Suzy at the front desk are amazing, the doctor answered all of my questions, was very patient and kind. Suzy was able to get me on the wait list and called with a cancellation the next day, she should teach classes about customer service!! Would highly recommend for your pets care.

Very caring and compassionate. My daughter has an older cat that has a serious medical problem and they have been very helpful in keeping her living a comfortable, quality life for the last couple of years. The cat is the nicest cat I have ever spent time with and blackwood animal hospital has been very instrumental keeping her living a comfortable life for years after other vets wanted to put her down. Also, in my opinion there prices have been very fair. I am so glad we found this facility.

Blackwood Animal Hospital is the best. We are frequent flyers with our very dramatic beagle and they have provided top notch care every single visit. The doctors are amazing and the front desk staff is fantastic. I have called asking for their soonest appointment for a situation that could have became emergent and they worked to get us in that day, which was unexpected (and not the standard with non-emergency vets!) but we are so grateful.

This is the best vet in the area! They are empathetic human beings toward your pets, and the techs and the office staff are a pleasure to work with! The prices for services here are fair, and reasonable.

The front desk is horrible. Has been for years. When you call you are immediately put on hold. When you ask for a paper prescription so you can have it filled at Chewy or Sam's club or any other place that is at least 25% less than having it filled at the their office you're told I'll leave it for the doctor. The doctor does it when he feels like it, generally 3 or 4 days later. I asked the counter person to ask the doctor to sign it while I was there. The counter person acted like she never thought of it before then told me the doctor stepped out. I then asked if I could buy ten pills. Again the counter person acted surprised. It should have been offered. I had called to request the prescriptions the day before!If you can put up with the inferior counter help and do see a doctor; the doctors are good. But anything not handled by a doctor is totally frustrating. Believe it or not I've been taking two dogs there for over 14 years only because I think highly of the doctors.

I Have been relying on the expertise and excellent nature of the phenom, Dr. Tara Duffy since 2009 for my fur babies and if a 6 star review was available, she would deserve it! Also lisa and the other OUTSTANDING staff really made me feel safe to trust their judgment implicity with the love of my life for anything.Then, Unbeknownst to me, during my fur baby's battle with Cancer, there was a regime change at B.A.H. , during covid and an unknown, unnamed Vet disregarded my concerns with my baby girls, infected, 21staple abdomen wound busting open at the seems until she needed emergency surgery that culminated in the last 8 weeks of her life with necrotic tissue from her infected, belly wound falling off of her like mini filets. The absolute worst experience in my life in the 9-day span in which i returned with my k9, 3times to help her and voice my concerns...but i was left outside at the front door without ever looking into this medical professionals eyes, to convey my conerns. I was dismissed and my doggie daughters last days were disastrous and demoralozing for me as a parent. No human decency demonstrated as was with the Delightful Duffy. this doctor disregarded my worries and concerns and didn't even meet me face to face, per covid protocols. Then he billed me twice for the surgery. Besides that, everything and everyone else here is top notch. I would add a photo but it was too gruesome to show.

Despite having frustratingly bad phone service last time I had to call (seems like physical phone line issues?) the hospital itself was wonderful and helped my cat at a fraction of the price of the other hospital we took her to that I absolutely did not want to leave her at for fear they'd forget she existed after the first several hours of the visit. Very understanding and helpful staff who will find answers for you if they don't have them rather than shrugging and saying they don't know.

First time there today. Was slightly frustrated as an employee came out and said we had to call the number to check in and the phones went directly to an office closed message,once inside it was easy to see why. A new phone system with phones ringing off the hook, busy place. The vet was amazing and so was the tech that assisted her. Prices are fair and out cat was not scared and seemed to like the vet. Happy we found this place and look forward to bringing our pet back will recomend this place .

This Animal Hospital was kind enough to accommodate a last minute emergency appointment for my Cat. Unfortunately he passed on the way to the clinic. Unlike two other vet offices that either turned me down or wanted a large fee to assess the cat, Blackwood Animal Hospital didn’t charge me a cancellation fee considering my pet expired, and they were sensitive and kind considering the situation.I would definitely bring any future pets here.

Dr. Joe is amazing and I have never had issues with the other doctors either.Edit: Dr Joe retired. My dog is having very scary health issues and is elderly and Denise at the front desk did appointment confirmations to find me a cancellation and it worked. I’m so grateful to her. They are short staffed and struggling, but doing their best.Edit: hold times and wait times were getting too rough. Appointments were scheduling too far out we had to switch vets.

This is a good place. The prices are reasonable. I used to take my parakeet there but the doctor who took care of birds isn't there anymore. An egg was stuck in her I took her to all creatures great and Small. I kept on calling and saying she's not going to the bathroom and they said she will she ended up dying

I've been a client for many years and I still am! It's in my opinion, the neighborhood vet! The price structure is modest also!

We had a slight wait, like any normal doctor office. Place is kept clean, the staff is very friendly there and helpful before we see the veterinarians. The veterinarian we saw was very detailed in explaining everything we needed to know, having a new puppy there is plenty to learn! They gave us a new puppy bag with a lot of good info, and a leash for training! This will remain our main veterinarian office.
