Young cashier on register 4 did not help me bag my 2 orders. He didn’t even end the first order and started scanning the second order then asked where did it end when I had the divider between each order. I bagged for 10 minutes while he conversed with his coworker. It’s Easter Sunday. It would’ve been lovely to have had some help and someone who was paying attention.

I just stepped out of this ShopRite after paying at self checkout. The store manager comes running behind me yelling - you haven’t paid!!I showed her my receipt at which point she says, the terminal said you did not pay!It was disrespectful behavior towards a customer for her to come out yelling in the parking lot. No wonder superstores are killing places like ShopRite. Get your technology fixed and stop being disrespectful to customers!

I was just prevented from using the self checkout lane because I have 21 items in my cart and the limit is 20 items or less. There were multiple open registers and no line for self checkout. The lady who told me I could not do self checkout was also incredibly rude about it.

Decent store but self checkout always requires employee assistance... maybe it's me :). Not sure why self checkout is limited to 20 items or less. Change that or add more cashiers.

I stopped by today to get a quick bite for breakfast. I walked towards customer service to pay for it. The lady at the register was Rude. I asked her can I please pay this here. With an attitude responded “ you could have paid at the register”. Unbelievable this type of attitude is unacceptable. I walked away I couldn’t believe the way she responded. I have paid at customer service once or twice before and never experienced something like this. Extremely Rude today.

Two stars only because they’re nearby and I haven’t seen any raccoons. They are regularly short staffed which affects the stocking of products, customer service and check out. Roxbury Mall provides the experience I seek from a grocery store. It’s worth the commute.

Clean, staff is always pleasant. Approximately 50% of the time, I place my order online for pickup. Upon arrival, I follow the posted instructions and text of my arrival. The food has always been delivered within five minutes. Very easy process and will continue.

Compared to other Village ShopRite grocery stores, the quality of Bville produce/veggies is awful. Variety of fresh fish is low. Deli self service is not customer friendly. And pre-cut deli meats quickly go bad.

Have to compare to Watchung & Garwood,same owner. This store WAS WAY behind my expecting. Mobile carts were not charged,isles are too narrow,fresh meat & poultry are NOT expansive enough,very little choices at 845am. I do have a choice of Stop& Shop or Shoprite,they are equal distance from me in Farhills. Cashier was far from Good,pushed product down at me faster than I coukd handle. Notv Happy with this store.

Absolutely horrible customer service. Needed help at self check out and the employee was completely uninterested and I had to ask twice for them to come over. Had such a bad attitude and was totally rude and unhelpful. Asked another employee if there was a manager on duty and he said she was the manager at night. I have never had to leave a bad review about a grocery store but she earned this one.

The store is always clean and usually well-stocked. All the employees are friendly and, while there are often lines at check-out--like at any supermarket--they move pretty quickly. They have eight self-checkout terminals, which helps a lot.

This store has gone downhill. Terrible experience. The store is not a representation of the community to which it serves. The managers and store managers are taking advantage of the community and its employees. The company should hire its employees on a living wage and give the individual an opportunity to compete economically in today's economy. It is almost embarrassing how the produce looks. Why waste your time and money on weak looking / bad produce. Take a ride to Chester 1000% better . This town needs a good grocery store. Its a shame how downhill this store has got.

ShopRite of Bernardsville is very disappointing. Compared to Chester, it’s a joke. The store is old and in need of renovation. Things are broken and the layout is confusing. Furthermore, there are departments (like the bakery, ShopRite from Home, and bulk foods) which don’t have enough space and need to Jerry-rig an expansion elsewhere. The decor of the market from the 2000s and tired. The store need renovation badly! The staff is good but very inconsistent. It feels like the manager is not so worried about the presentation of his/her store nor concerned about the modern day standards of consumers regarding supermarkets. The food options are fine but disorganized. King’s is a better option because it’s cleaner and more put together.

Good quality products and selection. However, the deli dept. dropped the ball on my order today. Waited for 30 minutes and when I asked for it, nobody had an answer. I left without it. Maybe they need to have a step in the system to avoid missing orders or something. I was dissapointed to say the least.

I love this ShopRite and my family and I are regular customers. There’s a relatively new employee named Wendy who was on register 1 today. I was buying hand sanitizer in a separate order from my mother since we don’t live together. My mom was asking her cashier why I wouldn’t be able to purchase if I’m a separate customer. There wasn’t a sign so my mom was just confused. Then my cashier, Wendy, removed her mask came close to my face and said aren’t you embarrassed of how your mother is talking? She then told my mom that the security guard was going to take her down and bring her to jail!? She was laughing and dancing - like it was fun for her to act this way. We understand that in a time of crisis you shouldn’t be hoarding - but being that we live in separate homes, and we aren’t paying all together it’s not hoarding! We shop here a lot and we have NEVER come across someone as rude as Wendy. It was extremely unprofessional not to mention rude, and I don’t know why she thought it was okay to remove her mask and lean in to speak to me during this time of crisis. How could such a great store have such a disgraceful employee?!?!!

This ShopRite looks very outdated. The selection of prepared foods is quite limited. The fresh produce section is small, and the produce quality is only so-so. The staff is friendly enough - no complaints with the management either. But they should really invest in an expansion and make-over to be more competitive.

Best grocery place in the area. Good selection, especially of produce (organic and regular). The building size is on the small side but they do the best they can working with what they've got. For example, there isn't much room for the checkout lanes. Parking is a little limited especially during holidays, but again, they do the best they can with what they've got and it was recently (around 10 years ago) expanded. The closest competitor is at least 15 minutes away. This doesn't include the King's across the street as it has an extremely limited selection and some of the highest prices I've seen.

Your typical shoprite. Avoid the deli counter- staff use cell phones with their deli gloves on- nasty! And they are notoriously slow in deli department and bicker amongst each other while people are watching. Imagine how they handle food when people aren’t watching.Otherwise, meat cuts seem decent, produce is usually good, floral department is good. There is a pharmacy inside that isn’t always helpful in finding solutions if they don’t carry a medication that was prescribed by your doctor. Prices are always going up. Store is smaller so it tends to get more crowded. Parking lot can be hectic.

This is my preferred place to get groceries in bernardsville, however, the prices listed on the shelves are often wrong. Especially on sale items, after getting home and looking at the receipt.. Out of about ten sale items, I only received a discount for 3 of them. This happens every time I go, so just be careful to check each item while ringing them up.

Have always found parking easily and none of the spots are too far. Have always had what I needed. Plenty of registers but I love they have 4 self check outs that i prefer for quick stops to grab only a few things. Disclaimer: not a weekend shopper

I went to buy lottery tickets and on my way in I had a small emergency and needed to use the bathroom. I stopped at the customer service counter, there was no one in line and one male employee behind the counter. He was using a walkie talkie but didn't acknowledge me at all when I came up to the window. I waited a bit but couldn't any longer and had to interrupt him and say excuse me to ask where the bathrooms were. He told me but still no eye contact. After I came back to the counter to buy the tickets there was one woman ahead of me and 3 other people in line. He moved the line okay but started to do my order before I even finished saying what I wanted so he had to void and start again. Through all this still no eye contact and no have a good day or friendliness at all. He was on the tall stocky side with dark hair and was a bit younger. Made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. This visit was around 3pm on Wednesday September first.

The only negative thing I have to say about this store is that it isn't larger like the other area Shop Rites that have all expanded. The pharmacists are fantastic, you can return anything, employees are accommodating and you can find pretty much anything except for gourmet items the larger stores carry.
