We have rescued all of our pets in the past. We had lost our dog Max, and our other dog Lucy was missing a partner so we were looking for a friend for her. We originally went to see Tony, but after spending time with Lucy Anne and team thought Nikki would be a better fit for her. They love each other and are getting a long great. The team at Home for Good Dog Rescue really takes care in placing their pups in the hands with the right family. The logistics were so easy, we took her home that same night and all the paperwork was sent via email, so we had it electronically. Thank you, Home For Good Dog Rescue. Forever Grateful, The Yacteen family

Home for Good is an incredible organization if you are looking to foster or rescue a dog. Just overall we had a great experience adopting our dog Maple and would recommend to everyone and anyone! Home for good knows what they are doing and really care about their dogs - they provided very thorough details and medical records upon adoption and gave great guidance as far as care, food & medical follow up post adoption. Thank you home for good for helping us find Maple and give her the home she deserves <3

We adopted our sweet Sailor girl in June, and she has been an amazing addition to our family. She is our second Home for Good Dog Rescue pup, and we couldn’t be more blessed to be able to share our life with our newest addition. The description of her personality on the website was spot on. She was exactly as described and really helped to make a great fit for our crew. We also had the opportunity to foster a sweet puppy while I was home on summer break. It was wonderful to have another puppy for Sailor to run and play with for a bit. I can’t say enough about all of the volunteers. They were all wonderful (well organized and caring).

Home for Good Dogs is a wonderful organization. They were diligent and honest and very welcoming. They let us play with many of the puppies at an adoption event to see which one we clicked with. Well it was was a huge success! Scout is the love of our lives and the silliest boy that adds so much joy to our family. Thanks HFGD!

Honestly: One of the best experiences we’ve ever had adopting! We’ve had 5 rescues so far as a family and I think HFG was the most professional and thorough process we’ve ever gone through. The staff really worked hard to assess whether our other dog would accept the new puppy and how we’d do. The facility is super clean and the staff really really knowledgeable and helpful. A+++. Leo is thriving!

Best dog rescue out there. We adopted 2 dogs from them and couldn't be more happy. Staff was amazing and super helpful. Their foster parents are equally amazing and very much care for the dogs and make sure they are adopted by a family that can handle each unique situation. We will recommend them to anyone looking to adopt and will be back when we are ready to expand our puppy family. Thanks again Home For Good Dog Rescue!!! <3

We had a great experience when we adopted our puppy. The process was smooth and quick. We filled out the application on Thursday and by Saturday we met and fell in love with our puppy. You could tell she was taken care of and loved before we got her. All her paperwork was organized and up to date. They provided us with everything we needed. Paisley has completed our family. Thank you home for good dog rescue!

Wonderful experience! We really appreciated the way they ensured that pup would be a good match with our family. So grateful to have found our Faye through Home For Good. Faye was 4.5 months old when she came home with us- she was (mostly) potty trained and slept through the night. She is a sweet snuggle bug. We love her so much!

We had an incredible experience with HFG Dog Rescue. The entire adoption process ran very smoothly and Anna was very helpful. We have had our pup (originally named Alonzo, now named Scout) for 2 months now and he is the love of our lives. HFG was very clear about their expectation of the proper care for a dog or puppy. I have noticed that the majority of “bad reviews” are from people who did not follow the adoptions instructions or felt their application was wrongfully denied. This rescue definitely has the dogs best interest in mind. What I love most about this shelter is that they place the dogs in a foster home. We were able to meet Scout’s foster and ask questions before adopting him. Since the adoption, we have kept in touch with him and he clearly cares about the dogs. I highly recommend adopting from this shelter. We are eternally grateful to Home for Good Dog Rescue for rescuing Scout and bringing him into our lives.

Home for Good Dogs (HFGD) is thoroughly professional in handling pet adoptions. We felt listened to, they understood what type of a dog we wanted but took time and care to make sure the dog was being placed in an optimal environment for him. We left with our puppy and a folder complete with his medical records and a schedule of vaccinations and other procedures required. It made the process turnkey!

Being first time adopter’s we came to an event after applying but were not yet approved. We did not get the dog we applied for but we did go home with her sibling. We’re grateful for the experience and kindness shown to us and for HFGD for making the process so easy. Our little man is settling in nicely in his forever home. I do believe there is a special place in heaven for those who love and respect animals. That said, the people at HFGD have certainly earned their wings!

I had a wonderful experience with Home for Good Dogs; through the adoption process I was matched with the dog that was meant for me! Karma is my very best friend and has impacted my life in so many positive ways. I have HFGD to thank for this :)Her website description was completely accurate; she is gentle, loves to cuddle, and is happy as heck with her own toy basket of chew toys. She is indeed the perfect dog for me!

Never expected to adopt a dog. I walked by an adoption event and was drawn in by all the adorable dogs and the friendly staff. After much discussion and a very thorough check, we were allowed to adopt our Queen.Home for good was fantastic. The dogs are healthy and well cared for. Vaccines are up to date. All medications were given prior to taking her home. They foster the dogs prior to adoption and are honest about the dogs likes, dislikes and behaviors. I think it’s AMAZING that they not only rescue them, but treat them, care for them and are able to place them in the right forever home.

A wonderful experience all around. We were able to pick up our sweet dog in Aiken,SC since we live near there. The facility was spotless! Aliyah even came in to help us on her day off ! Our sweet girl is 1 1/2,fully potty trained and just a big love…almost as big as her ears! She completes us, we were quite lost without a dog in the house. This is our first rescue and I would highly recommend going this direction. This is Miss Bree

We had a great experience with this rescue and our puppy is a dream come true. She was about 10 weeks when we got her, mostly potty trained and, she slept through the night. (She had a great foster mom!!!) She is smart and is doing really well with all of her training! She is in excellent health. She has such a sweet temperament and even gets along well with our cats. We are so happy with our little "Daisy!"Thank you Home for Good Dog Rescue! Our family is now complete:)The Wahls

I really hate to do this but I think potential adopters need to know this. I adopted a 3 month old puppy from here. There was a couple mixups in the beginning (bringing me 2 different puppies before they brought out the one I was approved to adopt & giving me 2 flea and tick preventatives instead of a heartworm and a flea and tick prevention, which they did correct by me coming to pick up the heartworm prevention). It was immediately noticable from getting into my car with her at the rescue that she had severe separation anxiety. I tried to believe it was from her getting transported that morning, but it only got worse. I mean if you weren't in her sight, she was destroying something or hurting herself, even if you're just in the other room! This alone had been very costly to begin with (training, medication, medical care, and destruction). The trainers I've worked with said they are seeing a good amount of dogs coming from this rescue recently with separation anxiety and other behavioral issues. From the first visit the Vet told me she had kennel cough. I didn't believe it since I have seen kennel cough many times working on the veterinarian field previously & previously fostering rescues. She was also regurgitation multiple times daily. We still went through multiple treatments with no help. It got so bad at one point I thought she was about to die from coughing fits and struggling to breath. I tried different Vets with no luck finding the cause. I reached out to the rescue for resources (I never asked for a dime from them) and they would not even respond to me. Eventually I found a decent Vet who referred us to a specialist. Unfortunately, testing and treatment was very expensive and not covered by insurance as it qualified as a pre-existing condition since on her first Vet visit, a week after adoption, the Vet was trying to diagnose her cough (as Kennel Cough). I reached out to the rescue to see if they had any referrals or resources for a more affordable vet as I was already almost $15k in to owning this dog less than a year. Again, no response from the rescue. I ended up putting myself in more debt with the specialty Vet I was referred to by the Vet we saw earlier who diagnosed with Chronic Lower Airway disease which she likely had since birth, meaning the dog was never properly vetted prior to adoption. Also anytime a cough happens to be a symptom of anything else, the claim gets denied with her insurance as a pre-existing condition.I love the dog, but due to the cost I really was afraid I couldn't afford to give her the care her needed (with insurance both refusing to cover things due to it being a "pre-existing condition" & maxing out the policy on what they would cover) now that we are almost $30k in debt 2 years in. I would not surrender her back to the rescue as it would not only be traumatizing for the dog, but they would likely lie to the next owner about her health status (as I can see from other reviews they lie as to why dogs are returned).I'm not saying don't adopt from them because I love my dog, but just be aware what you're getting into. Get insurance before you get the dog (DO NOT GET LEMONADE, get PetsBest), read the fine print for what's considered pre-existing conditions before you use the policy to ensure coverage for any illnesses/ailments/diseases this rescue hid or neglected to notice. It's clear that once the dog is adopted, they could not care less about the dog.

Home for Good Dog Rescue does an amazing job to help give many animals their "furever" home!!! We had a wonderful experience meeting the foster family and owner! We would recommend HFGDR to anyone looking to open their hearts! We love our girl Lexy and hope her brother Theo is doing well! (Give us a call if you think he'd enjoy joining our family as well!!)

We recently adopted Olive (formerly Lilah) through HFGD and had a great experience. It was clear that everyone we met who was involved with the organization has the best interest of the dogs as top priority. The frequent open house adoption events made it easy for us to introduce our dog to several potential siblings and get a clear sense of who had the right energy to match hers. The staff were responsive and friendly whenever we engaged them. My family has rescued many dogs through several NJ organizations and I would recommend HFGD to anyone.

I loved everything about my experience at HFGDR! While waiting to meet my baby girl Daphne, the owner explained all about how they rehabilitate the dogs they rescue from Georgia. The work they do is unbelievable. Daphne came fully potty trained and crate trained. She is so sweet and we have bonded to much in the short 5 months we have been together. 🐾

We had a wonderful experience at HFGD. The adoption process is very though and clearly the want the right dog with the right family. After adopting our first dog with ease when his sister came up we adopted her too! We couldn’t be happier and feel blessed to have been matched with the perfect duo. We are grateful to HFGD and all the good work they do.

Great place to adopt a new dog. Our new puppy is in great shape and all shots and neutering is taken care of and the dogs are healthy and happy.

I would absolutely recommend Home for Good Dog Rescue Inc. Their staff were friendly and supportive during the application and meeting our pup process. The only reason I did not give 4 stars was that we were forced to follow through on spay/neuter at 4 months old. When we consulted with our vet they recommended waiting for fear of long last side effects/development of our pup. While I understand why there is some level of inflexibility because adopters before me likely paved this way. I would like to have more say in my pups development given the LIFE LONG commitment our family is making.

We are a first time dog family and we met our dear "Mr. Miles" (erswhile Carter) at the adoption event. We then went about the application process, which is very thorough, their form can seem daunting, and they tell you that before you start filling it :) but it goes to show but they care immensely about the animals in their care and the intention is to make sure their rescues go to the right homes. We had a wonderful experience with them right from the adoption process to the meet and greet and finally getting our puppy home. Our pup had his vaccinations up-to-date and the neutering was prescheduled. They followed up with reminders. The staff are awesome and will answer any questions you have honestly and to the utmost detail leaving even new-time families feeling less nerves. I would highly recommend HFGDR to anyone looking to get a furry friend their forever home.

We had a great experience with Home for Good Rescue. They were so great to work with and helped us pick the perfect dog for us. We adopted our puppy, Munsee (aka Tanya) in January and she has been the best puppy we could ask for. We couldn't imagine our lives without her :)

I had a really positive experience with the adoption process! Everyone at the Adoption Event was so kind, highly knowledgeable and clearly devoted to the pups! Cider, now known as Digby is the sweetest, bright, most adorable pup and such a great addition to our household. I would whole heartedly recommend HFGD Rescue to anyone serious about adopting dogs from unfortunate circumstances.

The volunteers, and everyone involved with the animals are kind, considerate, and sincere. You adopt the animal and it is well prepared to go right home with you. If I adopt again, it will definitely will be from Home for Good Dogs rescue.

After some initial communication issues we met and adopted Lucy at HFGD. She is even better than described and we are very happy. Seana at HFGD in particular was helpful with Lucy’s heartworm treatment and arranging her spay. Thanks!

I adopted a very loving, adorable kitten from HFG. It was obvious that he had received great care from the rescue and his foster mom. The process was professional and caring. When the time comes for another dog (I already have two), I will return to HFG!
