Having spent my entire life in the vicinity, my recent visit to Klein's Seafood Restaurant was a first, and I opted for the combo platter featuring flounder, crab-cake, shrimp, and scallops. The overall experience was enjoyable, albeit a slight detraction with the seasoning, not aligning with my preference for bold flavors. The warm and inviting atmosphere, coupled with the impeccable service from our waiter Max, truly elevated the dining experience. Despite the seasoning, I found the meal to be of high quality, and I'm inclined to return for another visit. A solid four-star rating, with the potential for even greater satisfaction on future visits.

Nice place, it was recommended by a friend. Had a cup of clam chowder, a lobster roll with a beer. The chowder was a bit thicker than I like it, but the flavor was excellent. The lobster roll was not the salad type with mayo etc, so I had pure lobster chunks with fries. It was tasty and not that expensive, although it was market price, which always makes me think before ordering. Overall a good experience.The surprise came when I wanted to buy fresh fish which is way more expensive than I was willing to pay. A pound of cod was 23 which is about 10 more than I usually pay. So 1 star off. But overall I can recommend the place. Not cheap, but good quality.

Bottom line: Great meal by the water for this visit to Klein's Fish Market and Waterside Cafe. Good service, tasty appetizers, and delicious entree in the Fish & Chips but the standout was the crab cake I ordered as my side, awesome. I am a fan! The Deets:During this year's "birthday season" spent in Asbury Park, we decided on going to Klein's for an evening meal. Klein's is a very large by-the-water restaurant and fish market complex in Belmar nestled between the bridges there. I like the open atmosphere and we sat outside on this rather brisk September evening, good thing we grabbed our hoodies before we left! Our server Jennifer was right on point the whole night, great service. We got drinks going and decided on a variety of appetizer/starters including the Mediterranean Calamari special, Spicy Tuna Tartare, and Gyoza. Each were very good, of what I had of the tartare and the gyoza hit the spot while I heard the calamari was also very good (I, myself, not a calamari fan did not sample). The tartare was not overly spicy to my delight, and the gyoza were a great surprise being pretty tasty. I went with the choice of Fish & Chips for my main entree, with a side of a crab cake. The Fish & Chips were delicious, and although steak fries are not my favorite fries choice they did well here. The star of the night for me was the crab cake, and I was so glad I went with this item for my side...perfect taste and texture, I really think if I am able to come back in the future I might get the crab cake entree here after enjoying this side choice. I topped the evening off with a slice of Key Lime Pie...a bit more tart than expected but still enjoyable, and nice finish to the meal. I liked this initial visit to Klein's, and hope to see them in the future.

I thought this place was way overpriced. I got the clam bake which I expected to be a whole mess of seafood for $60 but was 1 lobster and maybe 3 of each, clams, muscles, scallops and shrimp.The food was delicious and the service was good. The atmosphere is great with the water views. It was kind of cold where we dined though at this time of year. It gets a little loud with the bar and a band.

Absolutely phenomenal food! Absolutely horrible service, our server Allie completely left us hanging. We received our drinks and they were dry before our food arrived, no refills at all. After finishing our meal, we waited 30 mins for her to even stop and check on us, didn't even see her during that time. The food was perfect, some of the best fish/seafood my wife and I have had. I would strongly recommend for the food, food gets a 5 star rating, server gets a 2. Yes, I know times are strange and businesses are short staffed. You can always make time to check on your customers, or the higher ups walking all around should have noticed as well.

Good things come to those who wait. Klein’s is no exception. Is it worth the wait? Absolutely. If you have a bunch of kids or lack the patience this is not for you. But if you aren't in a hurry - put your name in, sit at the bar and chill out.Kid-friendliness: Kids are fine and welcome - but there's often a long wait.

Amazing food and even better customer service. Everything was fresh and the time between the appetizer and the entree was perfect. It allowed us to savor the flavor of our appetizer( We had the Old Bay Wings), have a conversation and be ready for the entree( I had the Flounder Platter, my wife had the Blackened Salmon and my daughter had the cheeseburger sliders). All our entrees were cooked to perfection and tasted amazing. The same length of time was given between the entree and the dessert( I had the Key Lime Pie, my wife had coffee and my daughter had the cheesecake).The same amazing tastes carried over to the desserts. Overall, it was great all around with no complaints. The prices were on par with any restaurant of this caliber. We went on Easter Sunday and the turn around to get our food was faster than any chain restaurant ESPECIALLY on a holiday. They also didn't price hike because of the holiday which was even better. I highly recommend this restaurant! I wish I could give it more stars because it was that good.

My goodness. This was one of the highlights of our trip, very memorable. The best, most tasty, freshest boom boom shrimp. Fresh crispy salad with excellent cheese, lovely sushi. My daughter liked her sliders (she even made me taste the bread she liked it so much) & pasta, she requested pasta separate from the sauce (a kid thing) and enjoyed the marinara as a dip. She ate a lot and she never eats much. My son liked his fried fish & chips. Nice pina colada. We were all very happy with the lovely sea side location (we got dropped off by boat after a recommendation from the captain). I took note of the business history, reading the information on the walls. Impressive. High five! Job well done.

Very impressed with the Long Island ice tea, it was really good! The waitress Melissa was very good.. she knew what she was doing ( thank the Lord ). The food was very good, our entire table of 7 enjoyed our meals. We’re coming back again.

We had lunch at Klein's Fish Market after having not been for a while. (No specific reason)It always impresses me how clean they keep this restaurant.Water views on outside deck are nice with both covered or open options.I opted for the fried flounder sandwich which was huge and delicious. The waffle fries are also very tasty.Accompanied by a Summer Shandy beer it was a perfect lunch.Definitely going back more often!Parking: New expanded parking was helpful. Still tough at peak hours.

Always a great choice. We've done both the sushi bar and sit down restaurant, both will hit the spot.If there's a long wait time head to the sushi bar enjoy the view. If you can score a table, I highly recommend everything... To narrow it down.. I'll stick with recommending anything. The view there is hard to beat, so do what we have done and keep just coming back trying different things and enjoy the view.Also side note: great margaritas 🍹🌅🍣 And 🛥️

Klein's Waterfront Cafe, Tiki Bar, Fish market are all connected. Plenty of parking but, will fill fast. A 20 minute wait and we were seated near the bridge in front of us and NJ Transit behind us. Sufficient seating space with table umbrellas. Service was attentive. Drinks were good. We order clams on the half shell. They were fresh. The New England clam chowder was disappointing. Not creamy but, starchy. The lobster roll was disappointing too. I am sure it was fresh but, seemed it was made hours ago. The fried flounder, scallops and shrimp were fresh. Especially good were the scallops. The let down was the breading on the seafood. It was bland with no crunch.

Had lunch today at klein’s not the first time tho, probably this our 4th eating lunch.Everytime we spent our morning at the beach, we came to have lunch, nice outdoor seating.Most of the times we liked our food but today my lunch was grilled swordfish and if you ask me do I enjoy it, hardly I have to say no I didn’t enjoy my food. The taste of the swordfish was bla, no flavor at all and yes I see they put lots of dried herbs (see pic).Originally I wanted to order classic burger, simple lunch, but my husband said while we’re in the beach area better order fish, I love seafood actually but I’m a bit hard and complicated to please if we’re talking about food quality. My husband felt bad for me because he told me to order fish and I had hard time to eat it.Next time I would not order this fish.Everything else was good, our waitress if I didn’t hear it wrong her name was Beth, she’s a latina girl with few piercings on her face, she’s nice and friendly.

First visit back up to Belmar, N. J., I've heard of Klein's and it was what everyone I know that's visited there before has said.The service was extraordinary, the food was very delicious, tasty, hot and the entertainment was great too.So this is now one of my favorite spots to come eat at now.👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

The ambiance is very good in addition to music playing. And our table happens to be right on the water overlooking the bay .Our server Nadia was very accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu eager to make sure we a group of seven were well informed of the dishes on the menu between placed our order. The cocktails were good especially the Coconut, Orange, & Pineapple Rum Bucket , my sister-in-law loved it.The restaurant is celebrating 91 years of being in business and that's quite an an achievement.I really enjoyed my self along with my family the Bradley Beach Bums LOL.

Nice place overlooking a marina. Spacious. Nice bar area, clean bathrooms. Not a fancy place, more a casual family dinner type of place. Decent food but nothing to write home about. My Alaskan King Salmon was dry, which should not be. The red quinoa side dish was very good. The whole lobster had a lot of eggs in it, didn't look too appetizing. The scallops and shrimp were good. Would come here again, but more for the locale than the food.

Went here with some friends from in town - Klein's is tasty, but expensive. Scampi was underwhelming, more pasta with shrimp than a cohesive sauce, but the crab cakes were excellent. Waffle fries are middling. Not sure if I would come back, but worth at least one visit.

Absolutely wonderful place. Outside huge Tiki bar (not yet opened), outside waterfront dining. I had a huge lobster. It was the best I ever had. Good service. Reasonably priced. Everyone loved their meals. The lobster was fresh and sweet. An amazing seafood restaurant but also has some meat dishes. You will love it. Romantic. Great place for a date.

It started as a simple, quality fish market in the 1920's and turned into quite a wonderful place. My parents shopped there for fresh seafood, I'm 69 and have been going since I was in diapers. You picked what you wanted, they cleaned and boned your fish as you watched as they still do.... with the original sink no less! I remember well watching them clean our fresh off the boat fish. Wonderful atmosphere and staff. Beautiful scenery looking out the inlet watching the fishing boats and nice ocean breeze while enjoying an excellent meal. Menu selection is great. They also have happy hour. Free parking lot just across the street.

I have been coming here for years and always love the food! You can't make a reservation but don't let that turn you away. Put in your name and have a drink at the bar they expanded or just walk the area the wait usually goes quick. The food is always fresh, the fish tacos special was great. Beautiful views of the bay while we ate.

First of all I would like to say that this restaurant has a long history, but my experience was extremely bad, 4 of us each ordered a meal, but I ate strands of hair in the middle of my meal, the waitress (Sarah L) basically did nothing but remove my meal and erase the dish from our bill, then to make me even more angry I tipped a lower amount because of the uncleanliness of the food. However, my credit card showed that the final amount charged was higher than the total amount I originally put on my bill, which is really a terrible thing to do, no honesty and no service attitude, extremely bad experience, and made me lose faith in this restaurant!

Beautiful ambiance, love sitting by the water. Our server Claudia was adorable and attentive. Food was excellent, especially the Calamari. Haven't had Calamari that good in a while. Also had a side crabcake and crab legs, both were very good as well. Thanks Kleins for a great dinner by the water, will return.

We went for a really dinner. Very nice setting. The food was good. I had mozzarella sticks for app and crab legs for my meal. I forgot to take a Pic of my crab legs. My daughter got the salmon and really enjoyed it
